2 | Feed the hungry before sharing the Word | Not Specified | godsavs | 197559
I'm trying to find the scripture that instructs us to meet the needs of those we have opportunity to share the word of God. Basically, it states that before we can share the Word of God, we must find out what their needs are and meet those needs. example of mission work...many are hungry and scripture we direct us to feed these individuals first, and then they would be receptive to the Word. Thank you |

6 | Receive Holy Spirit and NOT speak tongue | Not Specified | godsavs | 185126
Does the reference found in Acts 2:4 stating that after they received the Holy Spirit they spoke in tongues mean to us that "if we do not speak in tongues we indeed do NOT and have NOT received the gift of the holy spirit? Acts 2:4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. |

8 | Baptize in name of Jesus or Trinitarian | Eph 4:23 | godsavs | 184447
So, true, Brad. Those were some of my thoughts...if one does not understand the Word and does not allow the Word to Baptize the inward then no change is likely to occur in ones life. Baptism, to me, was always thought of as an outward expression to man that I believe on Him who was sent. Thank you both for the additional insight and clarification. |

9 | Follow up to : Baptized in name of Jesus | Matt 28:19 | godsavs | 184446
Thank you, Jonp. 1) Why do you believe that SO much emphasis is placed on the outward expression of faith "baptism"? Though Jesus commanded, many denominations place the emphasis on the baptism instead of the understanding of the Word that leads to the inward baptism. 2) Also, this particular Pentecostal Church, directs not to Trinity (which they continued to stress that the 'word' Trinity is no where in the bible which I agree) but to the One-ness of God. Though they believe in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit it is said that they are one and not Three distinct entity of one...? 3) 1 Corinthians 1:17..'lest the cross of Christ be emptied of it's power' please explain. Thanks, again |

10 | Baptized in name of Jesus or Trinitarian | Not Specified | godsavs | 184409
I was raised as baptist and was baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I have recently been attending a pentecostal church, and the topic of Baptism emerged. Can someone tell me: 1) Why does the Pentecostal faith focus on the references in Acts - Acts 2:38, Acts 8:12, Acts 8:16, Acts 10:48, Acts 19:5 that points to baptising in the name of Jesus? Instead of following the direction given by JESUS Himself to baptize in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit? Matthew 28:19 2) Is there a difference? 3) Can ones' salvation be in question if one was baptized in one way over the other? Thank you |

18 | What the enemy meant for bad, God used | Gen 50:20 | godsavs | 148645
Thank you, Searcher. As I stated earlier...as you get older you've heard so much from passed down through older teachings and you've come to find out that most of which was a twisted version of the scriptures. Sometimes they were stretched so far that the truth can no longer be found. Thanks, again, for your prompt response. |

19 | What the enemy meant for bad, God used | Not Specified | godsavs | 148642
Is there a scripture that refers to the statement we've all heard before..."what the enemy meant for bad, God used for His good"? If so, where can this be found? It's hard at times trying to determine "was this an actual scripture I'm thinking about, or is this just another statement someone has made in the context of a scripture". Thanks for your help
