Hello TWH! I think it is great that you are wanting to give up something for Jesus. There are many things that can hinder our prayers. Lack of faith: When Jesus's disciples asked why they couldn't do some of the miracles, He replied that it was because of their lack of faith. Our motivation does play a big factor, and I know that it can seem like the Lord doesn't answer our prayers sometimes, but maybe it isn't in our timing or in the manner that we would like it. The Lord truly looks at your heart TWH and He desires for you to be closer to Him. Keep on seeking Him and desiring to please Him. And as the Bible says in Matt. 6:33, to seek Him first and THEN all of these things shall be added unto you. The Bible says that He is an ever present help in a time of trouble. Don't give up, because He surely hasn't given up on you! Your brother, David |

Hello Logoffset! This is one of my favorites. This is what many call the "Great Commission". This was Jesus's call to His disciples (are you one of His disciples?) to spread the gospel to every nation. It is His desire for all to be saved and as the Bible says "faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God". How shall they hear unless there's someone to preach?" -Romans 10. Jesus seeks to multiply His Kingdom, so this is a call for us to do that. He also asks us to baptize, and to disciple others. May the Lord bless you as you endeavor to do so. Much love, David |

3 | Can the devil tune in to our thoughts? | Bible general Archive 3 | followeroftruth | 188221 | ||
Hello! Could it be the New English Bible? This is a question that I have often thought about too! Some scriptures that come to mind are in 1 Peter 5:8, that says the "your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour." But this is not evidence that he can read thoughts at all. Other than this, I do not see much evidence in the Bible at all that he can read our thoughts. Since this would be a big issue for us all, if it were true, then I would think the Bible would clearly mention it at least once, or have a clear example of it (besides someone demonically possesed.) |
