3 | After God granted his request is there | Gen 1:1 | eowyn7378 | 151589
Sorry- I thought the question was if GOD granted him his request. I don't remember there being a change name though. I guess there we go with that interpretation thing again. I guess I just read like I want to also! :D
4 | After God granted his request is there | Gen 1:1 | eowyn7378 | 151415
Notice that last line- Ch 1 4:10 And Jabe called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest belss me indeed enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and thou wouldest keep me from evil that it may not grieve me! And GOD granted him that which he requested. So, we do know that GOD granted him that which he requested. :-)Hope this helps!
5 | Just an innocent question | 1 Cor 14:22 | eowyn7378 | 151394
Tim: Thank you for your reply. You know I agree with you. But the bible is something that you can't make everyone believe on one set interepetation. It is impossible. GOD made us with free will to choose what we may. You can take what you understand the bible to say, present it with a full laid out presentation and someone still look at you and say "I don't see it". Sometimes, the word is right in front of them, but like rather they choose to believe in GOD or not- is the same if they believe and want to put into practice what the bible says. We could probally use up 10 pages on this forum about it, but it won't help. In Christ- Amanda |

6 | Just an innocent question | 1 Cor 14:22 | eowyn7378 | 151350
I am just curious(and not wanting to come across mean or start anything), but then what is it that makes one think tongues is not used today? When someone stands up in church and speaks in an unknown tongue and someone interprets? I have seen an interpretation before and had it happen to me. But like I said before- this will be a never ending debate. Because it is in the way one perceives what they read in the scripture. Now, some read scripture and want to perceive differently from what is says, because someone said it was just pure laziness or something to effect to perceive the word differently. At any rate everyone's minds work differently. Perception is different, just as beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If tongues doesn't excist then what is the feeling that comes over us when the spirit moves and we speak in tongues? :-)

10 | Holy Spirit / Tongues for Today? | Acts 2:39 | eowyn7378 | 151295
You know, I believe that this debate will be forever on-going and here is why: We can out put scripture out there, but honestly it is going to be the way that person perceives what they want to. Interpertation of the word lies within what we understand it to say and different people think differently so they will perceive differently. I didn't include all of Mark 16 up unto the verse about "deadly things" and we shall not be harmed for the sake of saving my fingers. And somone had mentioned that I didn't. I included a lot of scripture, but what was noticed was what I didn't put down. :-D
11 | Holy Spirit / Tongues for Today? | Acts 2:39 | eowyn7378 | 151256
On miracles today and tongues: Since it is all about scripture here- I have some. This is after Jesus was risen(So, I would take this to mean for today- and please don't analize this to death, it is just my belief.) Mark 16:starting with verse 17: And these signs shall follow them them that believe; IN my name(Jesus' name) shall they cast out devils, speak with new tongues....lay hands on the sick and they shall recover....go preach everywhere.... with signs following. That is all I am saying.
12 | who today can perform miracles? | 1 Cor 12:10 | eowyn7378 | 151255
OK- I GOT IT. Benny Hinn was a bad example. I have only been watching him for a little while and what I had seen looked crediable. But the other stuff I said was miracles. I see now, I must really watch what I say here. I am just a simple South GA girl , not meaning any harm.
13 | who today can perform miracles? | 1 Cor 12:10 | eowyn7378 | 151246
Zech 4:6 Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit says the LORD. Miracles are still in effect every day. Take a look at Benny Hinn sometime on TBN. The miracle of Birth... all sorts of things.
14 | Yeah, I had been struggling w/ this ? to | 1 Cor 12:10 | eowyn7378 | 151244
I know that in the last days there will be an outpouring of the spirit. We will speak in a new tongue. If someone speaks in tongues(when the spirit gives utterance with groanings we do not understand-paraphrase, sorry) and there is not an interpretation then it is "like a clanging symbol". If there is no interpretation then I would walk out b/c I have been told Satan comes to church too, but he can not quote scripture. I go along with I Corinthians 12- he gives some the gift of interepretation, just the (young or old- I can't remember) shall dream dreams.

17 | Yeah, I had been struggling w/ this ? to | 1 Cor 12:10 | eowyn7378 | 151200
All I know is God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. At my church we still speak in tongues and I believe you have to have an outpouring of the spirit before speaking in tongues. In Acts it says the Holy Spirit fell and everyone heard the message in their own language(sorry for the paraphrase). So, if that happened back then, I believe it happens now b/c this is today and God is the same. I hope I have not confused anyone. This is just my opinion.
18 | Any advice to stop sexual immorality? | 2 Cor 6:14 | eowyn7378 | 151199
Searcher: I apologize if I came across harshly. This was just so dear to my heart b/c I have walked in her shoes. I am still trying to get rid of my ex who won't leave me alone. I am trying to find something in the bible about that, but can't seem to. His soul is just as important as mine, but the strain of telling him no all the time was starting to get to me. I feel I am fighting daily and Satan loves to use my emotions against me b/c my heart is like soft soil- everything gets in, to either harm or carry weight. This question was so important b/c those "soul ties" are hard to break. I had to stand in agreement with another believer to bind the soul ties and him b/c we wrestle not with flesh and bones but rather principalities and powers(sorry for the paraphrase). Love in Christ, Eowyn
19 | Any advice to stop sexual immorality? | 2 Cor 6:14 | eowyn7378 | 151135
I was concerned for this girl b/c she already had the word pointed out to her and I felt she needed a friend. I did what I felt was right. It was advice. Like I stated before, I will refrain from answering anymore questions. I felt this was a place I could come for friendly advice and I was trying to comfort the girl. Best of God's blessings for you. I will make sure I don't offend anyone by answering anything else. -Eowyn
20 | Is burn (purou'sqai) referring to hell? | 1 Cor 7:9 | eowyn7378 | 151133
Listen.... I didn't write something to cause any trouble. I just meant if you ask forgiveness, turn around doing the same thing intentionally and don't have a chance to ask forgiveness then I think you could. I wrote what I felt in my heart to the dear child, because I have been in her shoes and felt the same way. Sometimes, someone doesn't just need scripture thrown at them, but more than that. I know what scripture says and I never said she could burn in hell, I just said burn(but I guess I should have specified with passion- that is my fault, forgive me). I just went with an answer and talked from my heart like I would want someone to do for me. That was an answer meant for her particular situation, I had no idea it would be examined so carefully. * I will make sure from now on that I don't answer any questions, I mean I just would rather not participate in this board. * I will come here for answers only or choose another way to get my answers. I will shame this house no longer. Sorry if I offended anyone...... Eowyn7378
