No problem; in fact your post basically summed up what I found.
7 | turtle-dove | Song 2:12 | djconklin | 64858
In the KJV it says "the voice of the turtle" which has caused some Bible critics to scoff. The NASB is correct in this regard and the Hebrew does mean "turtle-dove". Shakespeare also wrote a play (A Winter's Tale) in 1611 in which he talked ab't the cooing of turtles that will never part.

9 | God can use woman in the ministry? | Gal 3:28 | djconklin | 37076
Will she know the same the con artists in the field claim they were called by God? I've met some who claimed to be called by God and found them to be lazy and teaching us their own cherished beliefs rather than those of the Bible. The rest of your post was excellant! |

Mind you that just about all the Hebrew I can remember! I also think that he is "off-base" about the remark by Gregory of Nazianzus. Mark writing for the Latins does not mean that he wrote in Latin; Mark was written for the Romans. Luke writing for the Greeks does not mean that he wrote in Greek--it just so happens that he did. Just like Matthew writing for the Jews does not mean that he wrote in Hebrew or Aramaic (I just happen to believe based on what evidence I have seen that he did write in Hebrew). |

15 | Infallibility of the Bible questioned. | 2 Tim 3:16 | djconklin | 32108
Hehehhe. "the two "conflicting" accounts of the creation." I believe it was K. A. Kitchen who showed that in Ancient Orient Texts (title of his book) it was not uncommon for them to give a second "account" in which some selected feature of the "first" was looked at in more depth, etc.. |

16 | Then precisely what is it talking about? | Matt 6:21 | djconklin | 32095
Jesus is saying that we should get our priorities straight. If we try for wealth in this world it can be destroyed or stolen in one way or another. But, if we set our treasure in heaven then it is safe for all time. So, in terms of material wealth we could ask: are you interested in being a millionaire or are you interested in saving people's souls from eternal destruction?
17 | Infallibility of the Bible questioned. | 2 Tim 3:16 | djconklin | 32092
"Yale divinity school grads on this forum? Heaven forbid! In the history of the forum many have trotted out their educational credentials -- the names and the number of schools attended, degrees earned, how many times they've been published, awards they've won, etc. -- in an effort to convince the rest of us "dummies" of the superiority of their great learning. So far, the only ones they've succeeded in convincing are themselves." I can't speak for what happened in the past on this forum however if you look closely at those who led Christianity down through the ages you'll find that they were quite well-educated (for instance, Paul, Luther, Melancthon, Calvin, Wesley) and I would suggest for good reason for most of the heretics who mis-led were not educated and believed their own lies (as a recent example witness David Koresh). |
