1 | The lost years of Jesus | Luke 2:51 | cmurphy | 18503
Thank you for your help. The story did seem strange to me but I could not put my finger on it. The fact that the people in his hometown where "astonished" with his wisdom as is shown in the following versus. Matt 13:54 He came to His hometown and began teaching them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished, and said, "Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers? Matt 13:55 "Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not His mother called Mary, and His brothers, James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? The people of his town would have known he went away for a number of years and would not have been "astonished" by his wisdom. Thank you for your help, I will now be able to go back and give several examples as to why this is not true. |

2 | The lost years of Jesus | Not Specified | cmurphy | 18378
I was having a discussion with some friends this weekend and one of them mentioned the Lost Years of Jesus. I unfortunately had never heard of this concept. I have done some basic research on the topic and basically the lost years says that Jesus went to the Far East to study other religions from the age of 12 to 32. If anyone has heard of this before can you give me reasons why this is true or why it is not true? I would greatly appreciate any help with this topic. Chris |
