5 | Is there peace on earth? | Luke 2:14 | christian7 | 106541
Mommapbs: My thought is that any other peace other than the peace that God offers to us through Jesus is a false peace. Truely when you know this peace that we are aquanted with and others reject it, the sword(word of God)divides. I really don't think that the world outside of the heavenly world that is promised to us, could possibly understand what it means to have a hope and a promise of the future we share. That's where the worlds confusion about peace lies. Just my thought. KJV Philippians 4:7 7. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. ASV Philippians 4:7 7. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. God Bless |

7 | What is the Holy Ghost? | NT general Archive 1 | christian7 | 106533
Angellove: The Third Person of The Trinity. His personallity is proved 1.From the fact that the attributes of personality, as intelligence and volition, are ascribed to Him KJV John 14:17 17. Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. KJV John 14:26 26. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. KJV John 15:26 26. But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: KJV 1 Corinthians 2:10 10. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. KJV 1 Corinthians 2:11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. KJV 1 Corinthians 12:11 11. But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. He reproves, helps, glorifies, intercedes KJV John 16:7-13 7. Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. 8. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9. Of sin, because they believe not on me; 10. Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; 11. Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. 12. I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. 13. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: KJV Romans 8:26 26. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 2.He executes the offices peculiar only to a person. The very nature of these offices involves personal distinction KJV Luke 12:12 12. For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say. KJV Acts 5:32 32. And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him. KJV Acts 15:28 28. For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; KJV Acts 16:6 6. Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia, KJV Acts 28:25 25. And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers, KJV 1 Corinthians 2:13 13. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. KJV Hebrews 2:4 4. God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will? KJV Hebrews 3:7 7. Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, KJV 2 Peter 1:21 21. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. His divinity is established God Bless |

8 | Luke 11:5-7 | Luke 11:8 | christian7 | 106530
Gil: First let me welcome you to StudyBibleForum. In answer to your question there is really no representation here. The story concludes with vs 8 and that being because of the persistance of the man, not because it is his friend but because he keeps on knocking and doesn't give up, his friend that is inside gets up and answers the door. It also goes along with the story found in Luke. KJV Luke 18:1-7 1. And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; 2. Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: 3. And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. 4. And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; 5. Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. 6. And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. 7. And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? Keep praying and asking even if you don't get an answer right away. hope this helps God Bless |

10 | Nazirite ... immaculate conception??? | Judg 13:5 | christian7 | 104915
joel k: Samson was the only Nazarite/Nazirite concieved as such and I can find no other. You state that Samuel and John were also but I dont find where you see "Nazirite" around their names. Speaking of John the Baptist. Luke1:15. For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb. This verse doesn't include that a rasor shall not come upon His head, as does the verse pertaining to Samuel and Samson. And in Judges 13:15 She may not eat of any thing that cometh of the vine, neither let her drink wine or strong drink, nor eat any unclean thing: all that I commanded her let her observe. We find that it is Samson's mother not eating anything unclean or drinking from the vine. 1 Samuel 1:11. And she vowed a vow, and said, O Lord of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the Lord all the days of his life, and there shall no rasor come upon his head. Matthew 2:23. And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene. Not a Nazirite. Which whould be someone of whom you speak as one that takes a vow. Hope this helps God Bless |

11 | Rev. 10 v1 who is the mighty angel ? | John 21:14 | christian7 | 104145
Part 2 come down from heaven; which does not design his incarnation, that was long before this time; nor his spiritual presence with his people, which is common to them in all ages; nor his second coming to judgment, which will be by a descent from heaven, and in the clouds of heaven, for that is yet future; but in a visionary way, his appearance to and for his church and people in the dark times of antichrist, when afflicted by the Turk on the one hand, and the pope on the other: clothed with a cloud (noun); which is expressive not of the human nature of Christ, with which his divinity was veiled in his state of humiliation, so that few saw the glory of his divine Person and the greater part esteemed him a mere man; but rather of the obscurity of him, his person, offices, and grace, in those times of antichristian darkness, and even of the dim light and knowledge which his true and faithful followers had of him in those times; it was a dark and cloudy day with them, as well as the whole earth was covered with the gross darkness of Popery and Mahometanism; though it seems best of all to interpret this phrase of the majestic presence of Christ in his appearances to his people, who went before the people of Israel in a cloud by day in the wilderness, descended in one on Mount Sinai, dwelt in one both in the tabernacle and temple, was overshadowed by one on the Mount when transfigured, ascended in one to heaven, and will return in one, or more: moreover, the cloud may denote the power and protection of God attending the Reformation; see Psalm 68:34; and a rainbow (was) upon his head; which was a token of the covenant; see Revelation 4:3; and the note there: this, with its blessings, is upon the head of Christ, the antitypical Joseph, and who is the head of his church and people; and Christ appearing in this form at this time when the world was overflowed with Popery and Mahometanism, shows that God was still mindful of his covenant, even in those worst of times, and would not suffer his church to be overwhelmed, and sunk in the general deluge of antichristianism, or the gates of hell to prevail against it; Christ, at such a tirade as this, very seasonably appeals with the rainbow of the covenant on his head, as a messenger of peace, and bringer of good tidings, to let his people know that ere long it would be halcyon days with them, and there would be times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord, who was ever mindful of his covenant with them; and that the Gospel of peace and reconciliation would be preached unto them: and his face (was) as it were the sun; or looked like the sun, as it did at the time of his transfiguration on the and as he is described in Revelation 1:16, and may denote clearness and purity of Christ; both as God, who is the brightness of his Father's glory, and the express of his person; and as man, who is holy, harmless, up defiled; and is also expressive of that fight of nature, grace, and glory, which he imparts unto the sons of men; as well as of that beauty, loveliness, and amiableness in his person, which renders him as the sun, delightful to behold; and of the majesty of his person, and the manifestations of himself, to the great comfort, pleasure, and refreshment of his saints: and his feet as pillars of fire; which may refer to the state of the church of Christ at this time, which was in the fire of afflictions, when many of its members were called to the stake, and burnt there for the sake of the Gospel, and yet were like "pillars," firm and unshaken; the church was like the bush that Moses saw, which was on fire, but not consumed; Christ was with his people as they passed through it, that it could not kindle upon them so as to destroy them; and their faith, which was tried by it, was found to be much more precious than of gold that perisheth: or this may show what Christ then was, both to his people and to his enemies; to his people his feet were as "pillars" of brass and marble, to bear them up, and support them under all their trials and afflictions; his goings forth towards them in a way both of providence and grace, were in such a manner, as to strengthen and confirm them in the faith of him against all the powers of hell and earth; and they were like "fire," to consume his and their enemies; with his feet he trod upon them, and subdued them under him, who were as stubble, briers and thorns, easily consumed by him, when at the same time be was a wall of fire to his people, and the glory in the midst of them. 12 | Rev. 10 v1 who is the mighty angel ? | John 21:14 | christian7 | 104144
Part1 maribeth: Verse 1. And I saw another mighty angel,.... Not any mere man, as Justin the emperor, as some have thought, who sent letters abroad in favour of the orthodox doctrine, against the Arians, which they suppose is meant by the little book open in his right hand; and still less the pope of Rome, whether in the sense of Papists or Protestants, which latter represent him as a tyrant, treading upon men both in the islands and in the continent, and holding forth the book of canons and decrees; rather, as Mr. Daubuz thinks, Luther, with the rest of the reformers, is intended, and especially since the prophecy of this chapter respects the Reformation, which began before the end of the sixth trumpet; and the epithets given to this angel may denote his strength and courage, his divine authority, the protection of him, and the clear doctrine of peace and reconciliation he brought: however, a created angel is not intended: not the angel that made proclamation for the opening of the book, and unsealing it, Revelation 5:2; between which, and having the book in his right hand open, is a wide difference; nor any other, though the epithet "mighty" belongs to angels in common; and though this angel swears by the living God; and though it was an angel by whom Christ signified the things contained in this book to John; but the uncreated Angel, the Lord Jesus Christ, seems rather designed, as appears both by comparing this with Daniel 12:7; and from the power lie gave to the two witnesses, Revelation 11:3; which cannot agree with a created angel; and besides, who so proper to hold the book open as he who unloosed the seals, and opened it, and to whom the epithet "mighty" may be applied in the highest sense, as God; and who as man may be said to swear by the living God, and to whom the whole description well agrees? he is sometimes called an Angel simply, Genesis 48:16; sometimes the Angel of the Lord, and who appears to be Jehovah himself, the second Person, Genesis 16:7, compared with Genesis 19:1; and sometimes the Angel of God's presence, Isaiah 63:9; and the Angel of the great council in the Septuagint on Isaiah 9:6; and the Angel, or messenger, of the covenant, Malachi 3:1; and may be so called, because he is a messenger from God as man and Mediator, being sent by him to declare his will and redeem his people: and he is a "mighty" one; not only as God, being the mighty God, the Almighty, which appears by his creation of all things, and upholding them in their beings; but as Mediator, having all power in heaven and in earth, and being far above all principality, power, and might; and, as man, made strong by God for himself, and for his people: he appears now as "another" angel, distinct from the seven angels who had trumpets given them to sound, and six of which had already sounded; and particularly from the angel of the sixth trumpet, who had just sounded; though some copies, and the Complutensian edition, leave out the word allon, "another"; and very opportunely does he appear for the comfort of his church, when the trumpets that had been blown had brought such desolations upon the empire, western and eastern, and when both the western and eastern antichrists had appeared, and before the seventh trumpet sounds, and brings in the last and greatest woe: and he is said to |

14 | God didn't make anything the same | Job 38:22 | christian7 | 104135
jgreen: The bible is not specific about every snowflake being different. although it does mention snow in various ways. In Uz, KJV Job 6:16 16. Which are blackish by reason of the ice, and wherein the snow is hid: KJV Job 9:30 30. If I wash myself with snow water, and make my hands never so clean; KJV Job 37:6 6. For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength. -On Mount Lebanon, KJV Jeremiah 18:14 14. Will a man leave the snow of Lebanon which cometh from the rock of the field? or shall the cold flowing waters that come from another place be forsaken? FIGURATIVE: -Of purity, KJV Psalms 51:7 7. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. KJV Isaiah 1:18 18. Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. KJV Lamentations 4:7 7. Her Nazarites were purer than snow, they were whiter than milk, they were more ruddy in body than rubies, their polishing was of sapphire: snow snow, precipitation formed by the sublimation of water vapor into solid crystals at temperatures below freezing. Sublimation resulting in the formation of snow takes place about a dust particle, as in the formation of raindrops. Snowflakes form symmetrical (hexagonal) crystals, sometimes matted together if they descend through air warmer than that of the cloud in which they originated. Apparently, no two snow crystals are alike; they differ from each other in size, lacy structure, and surface markings. hope this is of some help to you. God Bless |

Aixen7z4: I would never agree to shouting anyone off of here as we all need to learn and grow in the knowledge and grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. KJV 1 Corinthians 4:5-6 5. Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God. 6. And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another. 18 | Is lifting His name related to this vs? | John 12:32 | christian7 | 104007
Searcher56: Thats a good question. Are you speaking of this verse or the bible in general? I dont see it in this verse but I do find it in the bible. Lift- To project or sound in loud, clear tones: Lift-To uplift; elate: Lift-The act or process of rising or raising to a higher position. KJV 2 Chronicles 5:13-14 13. It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the Lord; 14. So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God. KJV Isaiah 24:14-15 14. They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing for the majesty of the Lord, they shall cry aloud from the sea. 15. Wherefore glorify ye the Lord in the fires, even the name of the Lord God of Israel in the isles of the sea. KJV Isaiah 40:9 9. O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God! KJV Isaiah 42:11-12 11. Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains. 12. Let them give glory unto the Lord, and declare his praise in the islands. God Bless |

19 | Do you recall the day of your Salvation | John 12:32 | christian7 | 103887
Kathy: 5 years 11 months and 16 days ago. It was New Years Eve and my favorite night to party. A friend of mine had invited me to a night watch service a couple of weeks beforehand. I asked him what that was and he said bringing in the new year with the Lord. I thought to myself, I didn't know churches did that. My answer was I might. I shared it with my wife who was already a christian and she got excited and I said we might, no promises. Well to make a long story short(I am from the south) the Lord started dealing with my spirit over those two weeks. Sleepless nights, heart pounding harder, I could feel His presents. Well I figured why not and agreed to go only to find the devil wanting me not to go even worse. As I got off from work I stopped by the VFW to shoot some pool and drink a couple before I went home to get ready. Well one led to another, I mean it was New Years Eve and all and before I knew it, it was 11pm. I got in a hurry to get home and stopped by the store to get some gas and ran into an old friend who insisted I come by his party before midnight. Couldn't say no. After leaving the party I finally got home around 12:15 only to find everyone in bed. Not on my watch, we dont go to bed its time to celebrate. One thing led to another and I left in a rage to go to another party. God had other plans traveling about 85mph I came up on a curve I couldn't make. My car flipped crashing into a pine tree and my life passed before me. I have no need to lie. The bible says to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. All I can say for sure is there was a presents not a vission. Ashamed that I should have gone to the nightwatch service, instead of the parties, ashamed for the father that I had been, ashamed for the husband I was, ashamed of how selfish I had been, ashamed, ashamed, ashamed. I began to cry out. And cry. Please God,Please God, Please God, JUST ONE MORE CHANCE. You see Kathy for some of us we have to die to die. God breathed into my nostrils life and I gave it back to Him through my Lord Jesus. I have never looked back since that night. I have never stopped praising Him. He has made my life so wonderful. Through Him I am a better dad, husband, brother, and friend. Words can not say how much He means to me or how much He has done in my life. Do I remember the day that He saved me. Oh yes I sure do. God Bless |
