1 | Can God's directives oppose His Word? | Jer 2:23 | caldogkcaldog | 162044
God changes not, agreed. I was referring to the way He deals with us under the new covenant as appose to the old. We were talking about Hosea right? He required Hosea to marry a prostitue. This was to show Israel she was a prostitute for worshiping other gods. He required Hosea to forgive her, because He was going to forgive Israel. This was all for Israel's benefit. When I said that was before Christ, I meant He does'nt use profits in that way any more. Hebrews 1 "God, who at many times and in many ways spoke in times past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son...." Does it seem His using a prostitute contradicted His righteousness? It is a valid question..But since He is the Alpha and Omega...what can you say. We are His creatures..He is Supreme God. I agree, it makes you kind of question, but in all this we can rest assured, though we may not understand, for a while, He is Holy. I believe, if He would explain His reasoning, we would end up saying "His judgements are just and tue". |

2 | Bin Laden God's hand in justice? | Genesis | caldogkcaldog | 162040
No, I don't know how or if God is going to bring the USA into judgement. When you look at the OT you see God used wicked nations to bring His judgement on His Israel. If He decided to use judgment on the USA to bring us back to Him, he would pick the nation to use. I don't at this time think Bin Laden is it. If God used a wicked nation, it doesnt mean that wicked nation or leader is a profit.
