7 | Gen 1:18-20 | Genesis | caldog | 162071
I wish it were the gap theory problem. Some assert that the order in creation of Adam (day 6) and the creatures (day 5) in chapter 1 conflict with chapter 2. In chapter two, when God begins to explain that Adam names the creatures, made from the dust of the ground, it appears that that is when He creats them; after Adam is created. Specifically chpt 2:18-20. thanx
8 | gen 1 , 2 | Genesis | caldog | 162069
I agree with you. A couple of bible critics assert that there is a discrepency and, naturally, the bible must be flawed. Gen 1 gives us the chronolgy of creation. Gen 2 goes on to Adam naming the creatures and the creation of Eve. In chpt 2 some believe that God is also describing another account of the order of creation between Adam and the birds and creatures. we know from gen 1 that the creatures were created on the 5th day. Adam on the 6th. when you goe to chpt 2 : 18 to 20 it appears (to some) that He begins to create the creatures for Adam to name. Do you see what I'm talking about? thanx
9 | Can God's directives oppose His Word? | Jer 2:23 | caldog | 162029
God is soverign. Prior to Christ, He used extreme measures with the prophets to record His word. Israel was like a prostitute, so God was showing He would take her back eventhough.
10 | Where is the true translation? | John 12:7 | caldog | 162027
I don't see a problem with "leave her alone." He was talking to Judas Iscariot who wanted to prevent her from pouring purfume on His feet. You can trust your bible translation. |

11 | Difference between Moses and BinLaden? | Genesis | caldog | 162026
Abraham did not tell Isaac he would be the sacrifice. During the early days of Israel, God ordered the destruction of many nations. These were His judgments against those nations. We don't often agree with God what is ethical. Osama Bin Laden has his opinion. I would'nt expect to be able to reason with him over anything. Yes, Americans are leading very sinfull lives. more importantly, americans are turning away from God. It would'nt surprise me if God was planning to judge america. So far He's shown great restraint. |
