1 | Who are the angelic majesties/dignitarie | 2 Pet 2:10 | beulah | 55680
Thankyou Sandrider for taking the time to answer my question. It gives me added perspective on the verse in question. I was also interested in the point you made about the allusion to an apocryphal book and whether or not the allusion itself is canon. Thanks again Beulah
2 | Who are the angelic majesties/dignitarie | 2 Pet 2:10 | beulah | 55678
Thanks Ray, the answer to my question set in context the verse I asked about and I can see clearly the link between verse 10 in 2Peter and Jude 5. The reason I was asking about these 2 verses was because I have noticed that both have been cited as a biblical reason why engaging the enemy in Spiritual Warfare, i.e. identifying and waging war against the strongman over a city, is prohibited by scripture. There is much debate within Christian circles about how Spiritual Warfare should be carried out whether the Church should be engaging the enemy directly or that our warfare should be through preaching and living out the Word thereby confronting and exposing sin. Both of these scriptures together with 2 Corinthinans 10:3-5 and Daniel 10:12-14, have been much aired in this debate. I am trying to gain a biblical perspective of these things in order that what I believe is based on Truth and is therefore pleasing to God. I would be very grateful if you or others could add any scriptures and insights which would help me to gain more understanding on this subject. Thank-you again Beulah |

3 | Who are the angelic majesties/dignitarie | 2 Pet 2:10 | beulah | 55578
The angelic majesties/dignitaries which are spoken of in this verse, are they 'fallen' angels/satans minions or those who are obedient to God or both? Can this verse be put alongside Jude 9-10 to be similar in meaning?
