1 | what do you do when you feel no love.... | 1 John 4:8 | baker723 | 136349
Oh, sister! You can NEVER, NEVER use up all your chances with God, for His mercies are new EACH morning. He is the God of second chances. Read the book of 1 John. It is NOT in God's character to not love. He cannot not love you, for He IS LOVE. 1 John 4:10 talks about the love He lavishes on you. 2 Timothy 1:7 says For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and of a strong mind. These feelings of being unloved are not from your daddy God. He loves you with an ever lasting love. No matter what you have done. He forgives every sin. Just admit to him that you sinned, ask forgiveness, and the answer is always YES! Take this from a sister who has a past of disappointing sins. But glory to God he forgives all and He uses all for good! I have drug abuse, promiscuity, and abortion in my past. And all this happend after I gave my heart to Christ and asked Him to be Lord of my life. I regret my past and what I did. But God has used it to reach out to others and let them know how much he is waiting, willing, wanting to forgive you. Christ died for all your sins, big and small, and He dies for the shame as well, so you don't have to walk around and feel guilty about your life. Find other Christians. We can't pick our family but we can pick our friends. If your friends are not supporting you, find you a good church home and open up to the leaders of the church that you need encouragement and support. If they are not able or unwilling to open up to you and show you that love and encouragement, then shake the dust from your feet and move on. Find a church that wants to minister to you. When God came to the Israelites after leaving them in captivity in Eqypt for 400 years, He came to them as their provider manna and water, as their champion, the parting of the Red Sea, their protector, the death of their enemies, their savior, He got them out of slavery, their guidance, the pillar of fire and the cloud by day, and so much more BEFORE He gave them the Law. God wants a relationship with YOU. He wants you to obey Him, yes,but that is for YOUR benefit. He wants your heart above all. He wants a love relationship with you. Go to your daddy and tell him how you feel. Be open and honest with Him. Lay at His feet and let His love for you wash over you. THEN, look at your life and figure out what it is that is keeping you from feeling that love. It is NEVER TOO LATE to change. And, don't be afraid to tell people what you need. Where you need help. What sin are you in that is keeping you from experiencing God's love? Do not be ashamed of who you are or what your past looks like. You can be a new creature TODAY. I would say the first step is to make sure that you belong to Christ. Has there been a point in your life where you confessed your sins and accepted Christ's death on the cross for forgiveness of your sins? Then, read 1 John, and find a loving church home. And pray. God wants us to bring our honesty to Him. He wants truth. Tell Him how you feel. And also, accept the truth of His word. Which means spending time in His word getting to Know Him. Bless you, sister. I will pray for you! |

2 | did we pre-exist as a spirit being? | Not Specified | baker723 | 136063
I am facilitating a Bible study (Gospel of John)at my work place with several new Christians and a few mature Chrisitans. Yesterday one of the "newbies" was discussing that her son was afraid for his grandparents dying. One of the "mature" Chrisitans told her to explain it to him this way - that we are spiritual beings in heaven and then we are born into a fleshly body and then when we die we go back to heaven to be in the spirit. I asked her to show me the scriptures that back that up - but she hasn't come through yet. So - what do I tell my new Christians about this - it has them confused. I just asked her to send me the verse - but in the future to just stick with the simple stuff for the others. I believe we all agree on the most important issues. Please help! Thanks. |
