I've found a great passage in this magazine called the Discipleship Journal...In this article the author discusses the question of "if God so loved the world, how come the bible tells us "Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him...The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever" -1 John 2:15,17 Later in the article the author writes: "God doesn't forbid you to love created things. Rather, He forbids you to set your heart upon them, to look to them for your happiness. Instead, He wants you to appreciate and admire them for this one purpose: so that you may love your Creator. Consider this analogy: Let's say that a bridegroom makes a ring for his bride. But once she has received the ring, she cherishes it more than she cherishes the bridegroom who made the ring for her. Wouldn't her soul be found guilty of adultery in her love for the gift-even though she was loving what the bridegroom had given her? By all means she should love what the bridegroom gave her. But if she should say, "This ring is enough for me; I have no desire to see his face now," what sor of bride would that be?.......Hold fast to the love of God, then, so that-just as God is forever and ever-you also may live forever and ever. For in the end each person becomes like what he loves." -Augustine of Hippo (354-430 A.D.) bishop, theologian, and spiritual writer I hope this helped. -Amber |

James 1:5-6 "If you need wisdom-if you want to know what God wants you to do-ask him, and he will gladly tell you. He will not resent your asking. But when you ask him, be sure taht you really expect him to answer, for a doubtful mind is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind." "all i am wondering is if you try find God will you find god , or i suppose is the point of religion to search ?" the answer is found in Matthew 7:7-8 "Ask, and you will receive. Search, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened for you. everyone who asks will receive. Everyone who searches will find. And the door will be opened for anyone who knocks." EVERYONE and ANYONE. |

Sorry I noticed that you asked if you were going to hell. Well, only God knows that answer. But you can be assured if you ask for forgiveness and repent. The punishment of hell is a result of our bad choices, UNLESS we are forgiven. For Jesus came to save sinners, and we recieve forgiveness because he sacrificed himself for us. Accept and ask for this forgiveness and he promises to forgive you. Afterall, if forgiveness was not an option Jesus would not of had to die. Hebrews 13:5 "...For God has said, "I will never fail you, I will never forsake you." " | ||||||

Hi. I'm sorry to hear that you have gotten so down that you wanted God to kill you. However, it isn't a feeling only you have had. In the world we live in today, many people feel lost, hurt, alone, etc. and if they don't have a relationship with Jesus they don't know where to turn and sometimes turn the wrong way and end up dead or on the the pathway to it. When you got fired and you thought it was a sign from God, well that can be seen in many ways, depending on how you look at the situation. Although, God did not fire you, your boss did, God is there to help you get through it. A lot of people say God makes bad things happen to teach us something, but God is not evil, Satan is evil, however there are consequences for our sin. But if we believe Jesus Christ died for our sins we are free from the punishment many people fear and others will face because they did not accept Jesus. (Read Romans 3) - 3:25 "For God sent Jesus to take the punishment for our sins and to satisfy God's anger against us. We are made right with God when we believe that Jesus shed his blood, sacrificing his life for us..." Satan gets into our heads and lives so easily and in many different ways, but God is there to help us out and not give in to that temptation to sin. Hebrews 2:18 says "Since he himself has gone through suffering and temptation, he is able to help us when we are being tempted." I believe we are taught lessons by the Holy Spirit which lives inside of us. We learn from experience when we listen to the Holy Spirit and what it is telling us about ourselves and God. Satan is always going to be there trying to bring you down, but God who loves you is there to make sure you stay afloat and He loves you more than anyone does. I don't know if all this helped you, but I pray it did. However, I know the only one who can truly help you is God, I'll be praying for you. Write back if you can. -Amber |

I was wondering what precisely "blasphemy against the Holy Spirit" is? I know that is the eternal sin and the bible says it is the only unforgivable sin, but I don't understand its full meaning. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me understand. Thank you. Amber |
