1 | Lazarus, Abraham's Bosom, something else | Luke 16:22 | alacruz | 151831
Hey! Just a note on "Abraham's bosom". The NIV translates the word as "side". Bosom always refers to a position of a person. I was told this in my scripture class at school (I'm a senior in HS). Anyway: If someone were at his bosom, it is said that he is BEHIND that person. So, Lazarus is right behind Abraham, or, with him/at his side. Same concepts. So the beggar died and went to heaven, and stood behind/with Abraham. The rich man sees the beggar (Lazarus) and cries out to him, kinda thing. Hope this clarifies.
