1 | "Chosen" ones,faith healers, Hades | Not Specified | adnama | 171271
I have 3 questions...I have often heard it said that God's "chosen" (?) ones are given more trials and burdens. Is there any scripture in the Bible that suggests this? Are "Faith Healers" in the same category as "mediums", or does God really give this gift to chosen people?I always believed that after Christ's death, his Spirit was lifted to Heaven. Recently I've read that His Spirit actually went to Hades first, then Heaven.I can't find reference to this in the Bible. Has anyone found it, or heard of this theory?Adnama

3 | Dead bury the dead? | Luke 9:60 | adnama | 170441
Thanks Hank. Would that mean that Jesus knew the man was "spiritually dead" because he made the request? I mean, he DID want to follow Him. And since he said to let the spiritually dead bury the man's father, would that mean that Jesus "knew" (could see into the hearts) of those left to to do the burying, even though He never knew them? Please forgive if I sound dumb; I just want to fully understand. Adnama
4 | Dead bury the dead? | Luke 9:60 | adnama | 170419
What did Jesus mean when he said "Let the dead bury their own dead?" I understand it was more important to follow Him, but how can the dead actually bury the dead?
5 | Are "mediums" evil? | Not Specified | adnama | 169905
Lev.19:31 states that "mediums" will defile us, and in Lev.20:6,that those who turn to mediums will be "cut off" from their people. Does that mean that present mediums, such as John Edward and Sylvia Brown are evil? They bring such comfort to so many people.

7 | Can prayer REALLY heal fatal illnsses? | Not Specified | adnama | 168401
I believed that one should pray to God for the strength and courage to deal with a tragedy or illness, but others believe prayer can actually change the outcome. For example, if one were diagnosed with a fatal disease, if enough people prayed for their recovery then all their symptoms would vanish. If this is true then why doesn't prayer work for everyone that is ill or deeply troubled? Your thoughts, scripture reference would be much appreciated.Adnama
