1 | Purposing alone is not enough | Dan 1:8 | Wofa Ato | 219051
Many at times we read and quote the very first portion of this scripture and refuse to finish it. Bible says he purposed in his heart. . . therefore he "REQUESTED". After the man purposing in his heart he made is a point to go a step further. After purposing in your heart to make Jesus your Lord and Personal savior. don't stop there for it is not enough to stop just there. God expects us to move on. God expects us to separate ourselves from the heathen just as Daniel did from the King's food and wine. Where? Check these out, 2Cor. 6:17 says "Therefore come out from them and be separate"(NIV). Come out suggest that it is an action you need to personally take. What are you to come out from . . . Eph. 5:3-11, Col. 3:5-12, 1Thes. 4:3-8. Verse 11 of Eph. chapter 5 says "have nothing to do with the unfruitful deeds of darkness" (NIV). God calls them unfruitful and things of darkness. Have you forgotten He had said for what has light got to do with darkness (Paraphrased). You may say my righteousness is of God. True but He never said anywhere that since you have believed you can choose to do that which you use to do when you were not saved, instead He said consistently that separate yourself from them that you may be accepted. Heb.12:14 . . . Make every effort. So what do you do after the separation for the consecration. 2Pet. 1:1-10 . . . in the verse number 8 the writer says "For if you posses these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ". To keep you sanctified, strife to posses these qualities. In Verse 10 . . . give diligence to make your calling and election sure". We need to do something by separating yourself unto God for just purposing to follow Jesus and staying in the old ways is just not the way. But be rest assured that God will provide you with the strength even as you decide and make efforts to live right with Him. For He has said in Jude 24 says "Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy". It is the joy of the Lord to see you standing. God Bless and Stay safe |

2 | Genealogy of Jesus | Luke 3:24 | Wofa Ato | 218045
My real question has to do with the whole of the verse 23 through to 38. I want to know in which order do the names of the fathers of Jesus appeared . . . e.g generational or something else. 2)Who was Nathan the son of David. verse 31 |

3 | What are boasting things | Ps 12:3 | Wofa Ato | 217410
What are boasting things. Does it mean don't speak or talk big, yes the Word says "the more the words the less the meaning and how does that profit anyone"? (Eccl.6:11 NIV). Again the word says "A man who calls himself religious should keep a tight bridle on his tongue . . . (Jam. 1:26) But what you speak is what you get right . . . "For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned" (Matt. 12:37 NIV) I know flattering lips is like a deceitful lips but i need to understand what the Word meant by boasting things. |

4 | Need a theme | Eccl 11:9 | Wofa Ato | 217283
Doc, nothing affect us more than that. What i meant was i needed a theme that will look at all these issues together based on Eccl. 11:9 A week package can't be spiritual through out from my point of view. Since they are growing folks, they would need to know something career wise, health wise etc. So Doc if you could, i would be happy to hear a theme you have and possible packages you would have put together for them Thanz |

5 | Follow up on ma pre. question | Eccl 11:9 | Wofa Ato | 217282
Thanks Steve, the idea of the Ministry is to teach and lead them into Christ and forsaking all others. But this is just going to be a week package . . . and you can agree with me that we can't make it all spiritual . . . they need a balance life. Thus the search for a theme that will encompass it all (facets of life)and if possible tell me any possible program you would have done |

6 | Merits of obedience | Deut 30:19 | Wofa Ato | 217281
This is rather a clear verse in the Bible . . . choose life in order that you may live, not just you but the ones after you as well. Hallelujah I feel like it is two road signs . . . 1 this road is broken at the middle; you will fall off and die if you take it. 2)This road is done . . . it a long way but it will definitely lead you to a safe destination I pray that God will give us strength that we may obey him. |

8 | Can perfect love cast out fear? | 1 John 4:18 | Wofa Ato | 217132
Yes. Because God is love as the book of 1Jn 4:16 makes us understand. I believe what the writer was saying is if the love of God is in us and made perfect, all fear will be driven out. Fear of condemnation and destruction. If we receive Christ, this fear is driven out (Rom 8:1). The perfect love of God comes when we read and obey His word and consistently yield to His abiding love in us. But remember in our effort we shall fail but our righteousness is of Christ . . . hence it is God who perfects us. 2Cor. 1:21 |

9 | God loves that you love | 1 John 4:18 | Wofa Ato | 217131
I believe my previous answers should help clarify things for you. In the verse 17 he says by this . . .by what? In the verse 16 he says And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God and God in him. What is the love of God . . . the doing of his commandments . . . what commandments? Love your neighbor as yourself. Then God would live in you. Can God and fear(timidity)live together . . . emphatically no. Why? 2Tim 1:7, Eze. 36:26-27 (A new heart also will i give to you and a new spirit will i put within you; I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh. and I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in my status and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.) So when we keep His judgment, we are perfected in Him . . . no wonder He said so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment . . .what confidence? that we are not condemned (Rom 8:1) |

10 | God loves that you love | 1 John 4:18 | Wofa Ato | 217130
Yes fear and love go together. The fear here again is reverence not timidity or anxiety. Bible says The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom(Pro. 1:7. Wisdom teaches knowledge, the Knowledge of God is the Word of God (Jn 1:1). Knowing the word of God and doing them is the Love of God (1 Jn. 2:3,5 cf 5 :3) In Duet 10:12 God was admonishing His people to take His word as it comes, walk by it and obey it. This is the only way we can tell and show God that we love Him. Paul said to the Thessalonians that when they received the word of God the took as it as it was. They didn't try to make logic out of it but simply believed |

11 | God loves that you love | 1 John 4:18 | Wofa Ato | 217129
Hi Lolz . . . Having faith in the devil is doubting God. it is not believing the devil for harm but it is distrusting God for deliverance. Encarta 2009 defines fear as an unpleasant feeling of anxiety. If it wasn't for so God wouldn't not have said to us that you shouldn't be anxious for anything (Phil. 4:6-8) Read the verse 8 very carefully . . .anything fear goes contrary to the verse 8. Also from Psalm 37:8b says "Do not fret- it only lead to evil" I do not have any Bible software because all that i install fail to function and i have forgotten the exact book, but it is written that "do not fear what they fear, neither do you dred what they dread . . .but in all things believing in Jesus... Who are the "they" - those who have not believed that Jesus is the Son of God. What do they fear . . . the element of the earth. what element? . . . poverty, joblessness, misery, death ,calamity etc. God says do not fear such why . . Gal 4:1-9 (read verse 9 again very carefully) Now if you don't take the word of God as it is, you are doubting Him . . . unconsciously you are believing that what God has said is not true or it may work for others and not you. That is having fear "faith in the ability of the devil being able to harm you" 2 Cor.4:13 The answer to your second question is Yes. I fear God in his Majesty, His Glory, His peace, His love, His understanding name it but am not afraid ever that God CAN harm me. Isa. 2:10 The devil yes . . . but even so the chance was given to him. Listen David said "for though i walk through the valley of shadow of death, i will not be afraid for you(God) is with me (Ps. 23)yes trouble and challenges may come but God is right there with you. Heb 13:5 The devil can't harm you but don't doubt God either |

12 | God loves that you love | 1 John 4:18 | Wofa Ato | 217128
Hi, The answer to your first question as the "fear" of the Lord is not same as being afraid of God - No.God fearing is having reverence for God.It is believing in the awesomeness of God.For instance you have respect for your "earthly" father so much so that when you were a child there were certain things you just won't do . . .that is not being afraid of your dad!it is respecting his words. As written in Acts 9:31 the fear of the Lord is so much different that it goes on to say COMFORT in the Holy Spirit. Let me ask you something . . .when you were a kid, assume you were scared of ridding a bike because you may fall and be hurt . . . if you were put on a bike did you ever feel comfortable and happy to sit on it? That is the fear of nature . . . gravity. It is not the same as the fear of God |

13 | God loves that you love | 1 John 4:18 | Wofa Ato | 217090
Fear is perverse faith. it is actually faith in the devil's ability to harm you. The only way to kick it out is to grow in love. If you fear love is not made complete in you . . . remember that God is Love (1 Jn 4:7,8). Simply put if you still have fear in you, then the fullness of God is not in you |
