1 | We need to encourage each other. | Matt 16:6 | Whiteeagle1a | 90836
Where is the focus? I am very concerned over all the negativity in this forum. There is alot of attacking on and another, which by the way is just what Satan wants, I believe that the Word of God is TRUTH from Genesis to Revelatoin. I would like to encourage everyone to look at ways to lift up and edify each other. That does not mean ther can't be open discussions about what the word says, that is one of the ways we learn, but not attacking each other because of what or how they believe. In Acts 14: 22 "strengthening the disciples and ecourageing them to remain true the faith." "We must go through many hardships to enter the kindom of God." Jesus went through a great harship for us on the cross. Paul in a letter to Timothy wrote (2Timothy 1:3) "I thank God, whom I serve, as my forefathers did, with a clear conscience, as night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers." In 1 Thess 5: 12-16 "Now we ask you, brother, to respect those who work hard among you, who are over you in the Lord and who admonish you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone. Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everone else. Be joyful always pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." In Jesus Name |

2 | Knocked out by holy spirit | Matt 16:6 | Whiteeagle1a | 90437
Spiritial and physical healing has happened to me as well as I have been involved with many prayer meetings where we have laid on hands and prayed over many needs. I have been very much in tune with the Holy Spirit and the power of prayer and healing. I still believe that puting on a show and useing God's power to heal as a draw to get people to show up is not what Jesus taught us in God's word. First and foremost it is about recieving Jesus into your life and asking for forgivness of your sins. Thats the greatest gift you can ever recieve. While I do beleve that you can be healed from many physical problems, that sould never be your first focus, it should always be first building a relationship with Jesus so that when the day of judgement comes you know that you will be home with Jesus and any and all physical problems will be gone. I believe that the faith healers put the focus on being healed and not on a relationship with Jesus and that is not what Jesus taught us in God's word. When ever Jesus healed someone he first forgave them of there sins (Matt 9 1-8), and also checked to see where their faith was. Jesus also would tell them to not tell anyone of this because he did not people think that he was only a mircle worker. Jesus first wanted to bring all people into a loving relationship with God. (Matt 9 27-34. So I don't think that putting on theatrics just to get people to show up is right or is supported but the word of God.
3 | Knocked out by holy spirit | Matt 16:6 | Whiteeagle1a | 90388
No there isn't any scripture that refers to the Holy Spirit knocking any one out. The Holy Spirit is a part of the trinity and was sent to teach, inpower and guide us thru our christian walk. I believe that this faith healers our what Jesus would refer to as theatrics which is not what Jesus is all about. In God's word Jesus NEVER put on show during the performing of any of his miracles, and you nerver read about anyone being knocked out by the Holy Spirit. These faith healers use these theatrics to exciete the crowd all for show and money. Many people leave in the same conidition when they arrived. We need to remember the Jesus is all powerful and still can perform many miracles and has performed many miracles today in my life, but it is not to be used in a theatrical way, because that doesn't bring the attention on God but in the theatrics.
