4 | HOW COULD JESUS BE A DESCENDANT OF DAVID | Bible general Archive 1 | TooTooSmart | 49821
Jesus being the foster Son of Joseph and the firstborn in the family, became the legal heir to David's throne through Joseph. See Chapter 1 of Matthew. Joseph was a direct descendant of David. He married Mary before Jesus was born and was therefore considered Jesus earthly father. Joseph did exactly as God's angel prepared him to do.
5 | what does the phrase | Bible general Archive 1 | TooTooSmart | 49818
I looked at the verses you mentioned and saw nothing about "planning in the spring". The verses are telling the people that Jesus will be coming twice. First and second comings of Christ. Today, the first coming has been fulfilled when he came and died for us. The next coming he will set up his kingdom here on earth. Now the phrase "could" mean prepare for the way of the Lord by opening up your heart, etc. Hope this help.

Good response, however, Paul tell us in Galatians 5 that if we try to be righteous by the law, then Christ has no effect on us an we have fallen from grace. Please study Galatians 5 starting at the 1st verse. It should clearly show us that we cannot not mix law and grace. Your comments are welcome.
7 | Are we still under the Ten Commandments? | Bible general Archive 1 | TooTooSmart | 49811
Why not? Because the ten commandments cannot save us it is a law and like any other law it can only condemn us or show us that we are sinners, that is why God sent His Son Jesus on our behalf so that we can be saved, that is, those of us that have faith in Christ. With faith in Christ and obeying His Word, we will not sin, that is why not. Good response however.

10 | Law and Christ vs Law or Christ? | Bible general Archive 1 | TooTooSmart | 48638
If we can mix law and grace, why does Paul tell us in Galatians 5:4 that "Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law, ye are fallen from grace." This tells me that: Christ has set us free from the law's requirements by fulfilling them in Himself. Neither circumcision nor any other requirement of the law is beneficial to Christians. Faith in Christ is what counts. |
