1 | displaying things of jesus | Ex 20:4 | ThomasTheNonDoubter | 26832
If Waldo is right about their thinking concerning the second commandmant, then that might be an example of retreating back to the following of the law and away from the path of faith and grace.
2 | displaying things of jesus | Ex 20:4 | ThomasTheNonDoubter | 26829
I think the fact that early followers did not have the kind of access we have today. We are allowed into the Holy of Holies. In those days only one man per year was allowed into this most precious of relationships with God. I really don't think their is a problem with most Christians. I do have a problem with the Catholics praying to the mother Mary. I'm not Catholic, but if they do in fact go to the image of Mary and petition her image to act as an intermediary, which is the job of Jesus, then I think there might be an example of modern day transgression of God's will in this area. She did not do anything in our place that results in our freedom from sin.
3 | HOW DID GOD WARN THE ISRAELITES | Ex 20:4 | ThomasTheNonDoubter | 26826
From what I've learned, God usually talked through prophets. Their 40 years in the wilderness shows the typical response God recieved from His children.
4 | How do we lift up Christ for healing? | Ex 20:4 | ThomasTheNonDoubter | 26825
Hope this helps. I have a personal friend who was 37 hours from death with Lupis, a usual one way street. She decided to start standing on the promises of the Bible concerning healing. An example is by His stripes we were healed. Jesus took all our infirmities and diseases onto the cross and nailed them there when He became a curse for us. Our confession is what determines what our environment becomes. Say things that disagree with the word of God and the principle of two being in agreement will make your confession come to pass. Who would agree with your negative confession? Satan in a New York second. That same lady is traveling around the country today preaching on the power of confessing and agreeing with the word of God. It took her a year to totally defeat the Lupis disease, but using the power that Jesus provided for us in His word, she did defeat it. That same power is available to all, but the lack of faith and the probability that most people don't have any idea what kind of power they have available under the blood covenant they entered into when they gave their lives to Jesus. They probably don't even know they entered into a blood covenant relationship. You ought to do a study on that.
5 | Faith in Jesus prevails over the Law. | Ex 20:4 | ThomasTheNonDoubter | 26821
I agree with a lot except for one little bit. The non-Christians Israelites don't have to stay under the law, just as you or I don't HAVE to drive around with a flat tire. We can still do it, but we don't have to.
6 | displaying things of jesus | Ex 20:4 | ThomasTheNonDoubter | 26819
On many occaisions, when your giving glory to God, Satan, in some form will try to convince you to stop. That's when you need to stand your ground, in the spirit of peace and love, but stand your ground. God inhabits the praises of His people and that same praise is one of our weapons. The old red suit redneck doesn't like people knowing that one bit. I disagree with the comments of Exodus 20:4 as related to a picture or necklace. I have a picture of my wife, but I've never been caught worshipping the picture or my wife. A lot of respect, love, etc, but not worship. We usually have pics of people we love. Keep it simple. That's why Jesus instructs us to come unto Him as a child, who would keep it simple.
7 | sin :it's complete meaning. 72hours of | James 4:17 | ThomasTheNonDoubter | 26713
For info on sin, you need to read the Bible for yourself, after asking the Holy Spirit to give you the wisdom and revelation knowledge of what you seek. Asking peoples opinions on a site like this about what sin is only opens you up to misinterpretative answers by people. You need to go the the source. Romans and John would be good books to start looking.
8 | Cite Scripture Jesus descended to hell | Ephesians | ThomasTheNonDoubter | 26682
Your argument is not worth fighting over. TomAto, or Tomoto. The real believers get the message from the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth and righteousness. Doo believe you need to ask the Holy Spirit for some revelation knowledge.
9 | Cite Scripture Jesus descended to hell | Ephesians | ThomasTheNonDoubter | 26679
I just noticed that this is the second time I referred this to you. Dooo believe you might be operating on the wrong side of the tracks, working for the wrong boss. No hard cold statements, but begining to look that way.
10 | Cite Scripture Jesus descended to hell | Ephesians | ThomasTheNonDoubter | 26676
That's why I didn't use that scripture on you. ** Try this one ** Psa 16:10 For thou wilt not leave my soul to Sheol; Neither wilt thou suffer thy holy one to see corruption. ** How could Jesus state that God would not leave Him someplace that He's never been to. |

11 | Did Jesus go to hell after dying? | Ephesians | ThomasTheNonDoubter | 26670
Hell is divided into two sections If Jesus led captivity captive and retrieved the faithful out of there, why would it still need to exist? **** show me one place in the Bible that says Satan isn’t the ruler of hell. You have it wrong I stated the exact opposite. Since Adam gave Satan all rights and powers to Adams domain, Satan has legal ownership of it and hell is in this world that Satan now owns. ***** Now you say God couldn’t get anymore dirt. Do you really think the Being that created heaven and earth could not get more dirt? Oh, God has the power to muscle His way around the problem, only one catch, God is a Holy, just God and wouldn't do something dishonest to get back what Satan stole from Him. That is why God had to find someone who would enter into a blood covenant with Him. A blood covenant means that two agree that whatever you own, I own and the other way around. This legally allowed God back into the earth. In the begining, God gave all rights of this world to Adam and God just visited Adam in the cool of the day to chit chat. ********* Does not man subdue the world, are not animals in submission to man * Try walking up to a lion who is now under Satan's authority and demanding that it submit to you. I wouldn't. In heaven the lion shall lay down with the lamb. I get that the lion's diet will change to veggies, not meat, probably like it was in the garden, before the new landlord took over. ** Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. This supports my point, that God could not go back on His word and muscle His way back into the earth. He had to find a legal way to do it and that way was with a blood covenant. I aggree with you, if I was God, I would just kick some unrighteous butt and be done with it. But that would be acting at the level of the unrighteous butt kickee. God is above that and fortunately, wise enough to handle that problem. That problem was solved before the world began because the Bible states that God knows the end from the begining. Nothing surprises Him AAAAAAmen. |

12 | Did Jesus go to hell after dying? | Ephesians | ThomasTheNonDoubter | 26652
Nope, I didn't I stated that it looked like because you were implying that his words should be blieved because he had affiliation with a large organized church. I was cautioning not to esteem anybody above the truth, that even kings can be dirtbags. When I first began listening to Hank and didn't know what he was about, I would compare what he said with the Bible and found him to be in error on many occaisions and noticed that he would attack, diplomatically, anyone who dared to disagree.
13 | Did Jesus go to hell after dying? | Ephesians | ThomasTheNonDoubter | 26647
I didn't say Jesus was. You need to read more carefully. I made a point that Jesus *did not* go through the sacrifical sheep process on the surface.
14 | Did Jesus go to hell after dying? | Ephesians | ThomasTheNonDoubter | 26644
I was referring to scripture that backed up your statements about the subject. I do apologize for a blanket statement which didn't convey the meaning of my thoughts. *** Eph 4:18 being darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardening of their heart; **** luke 16 what? and Rev 19 and 20 what, the whole chapters? I used specific verses and kept to the subject. Eph4:8 has nothing to do with Jesus descending into hell. |

15 | Did Jesus go to hell after dying? | Ephesians | ThomasTheNonDoubter | 26640
I never mentioned that Jesus was tormented by Satan. Your words again, not mine. I said to someone that Jesus had to go through the whole process that a sacrificial sheep went through, death, then on the alter with the fire. Since there is nothing about Jesus being on an alter on the surface being burned, He had to have gone to the 1st death, place of torment, which is hell. Then when Jesus had suffered enough, God rose Him up and Jesus took the keys of death and hell away from Satan and made a public specticle of him. Then He led captivity captive, which I interpret to mean got Abraham and the boys out of paradise and took them to heaven. If I'm wrong, please show me scriptures to correct my mistakes. I find these debates enjoyable. Causes me to look in my E-Sword constantly to defend the gospel.
16 | Did Jesus go to hell after dying? | Ephesians | ThomasTheNonDoubter | 26630
Your trying to find all the answers in one verse and if one verse doesn't have it, shut the whole thing down. You can't take something out of context, but put several puzzle pieces together and you will see the picture that God is trying to convey to His followers.
17 | Did Jesus go to hell after dying? | Ephesians | ThomasTheNonDoubter | 26626
Bless you my brother. Hey if I don't see you before, lets get together at my mansion for some relaxing conversation on Gold Street. hehehe
18 | Did Jesus go to hell after dying? | Ephesians | ThomasTheNonDoubter | 26620
What does a person's station in life have to do with anything. Sounds like your worshiping a human. Don't forget people like Harod, a king was a dirt bag. Any human in this time space can be the same. Noooooooooooo I'm calling anybody anything, stopping you from putting fertilizer in my mouth again. I'm saying the potential is there and one shouldn't swallow words of someone simply due to his station in life. The antichrist will be leader of the world, does that make him a good guy?
19 | Did Jesus go to hell after dying? | Ephesians | ThomasTheNonDoubter | 26615
I've looked through your stuff and haven't seen any, just statements from you with no references. Nice try.
20 | Did Jesus go to hell after dying? | Ephesians | ThomasTheNonDoubter | 26610
What does that matter. When Jesus was 12 He was dazzeling them with His brilliance. Now don't go off half cocked saying I'm even close to that. Just proving a point that age has nothing to do with wisdom. And I've learned real quickly not to depend on my own wisdom in this forum. I had better be quoting the absolute truth and be backed up with scripture, which is a very resonable request. ****** Responding to your statement. If one denies or agrees on anything and that opinion aggrees with God's word, their in good shape, otherwise, I'm glad I'm not them. |
