1 | Created for heaven or hell? | John 3:16 | THE COT | 107979
hi, I have already went through this frightening question myself, I understand fully your question. Im not sure If Im allowed to do this in theis thing, but the answer is God created man with the ability to choose. God is self determined, and we are created in his image, therefore we are selfdetermined also to make our own choices. we are born condemned, and have the ability to choose christ. is this is not true, we cannot be blamed , see prov 1:29. some argue that we can only choose evil, but Ive seen all the arguments, there not convincing.I recomend wordsearches, www.swordsearcher.com to take words in there context, also take every scripture in context also. you will find the truth, that Jesus died for the whole world, john 3:16, 1 john 2:2. john 1:29 if all have sinned in the whole world, and jesus died for the sin of the world, then JESUS died for everyone. therefore all have a chance to enter heaven. many will disagree, Ive heard all the arguments, like "if Jesus died for everyone, then howcome everyone isnt in heaven" or " the word world doesnt refer to everyone in the original greek. ( I would ask them what manuscripts thier reading, (read the textus receptus) and if thier farmiliar with the lexicons condition. if you have questions, just ask me, I wont type everything i one night!! c ya, THE COT. |

2 | Non-denominational theology? | John 3:16 | THE COT | 107978
hi, Im a nondenominational christian, I Go to a baptist church, do I guess Im a good one to answer. I beleive in nondenominalationalism because of 1 cor 1:13. "is christ divided" I dont beleive in brands like Calvanist or Arminian, or Catholic, because that is directly against scripture. It causes the unity in christ to slowly crumble. nondenominational theology is not realy anything specific, just agreeing on the essentials and obvious statements of the bible, like creation, the authority of the bible, the deity of Christ, and salvation by faith alone. you decide what you beleive concerning the nonessentials, like end times, freechoice, the claim of the sinlessness of mary ( I am not claiming to beleive it, I just say that because its a nonessential to ones salvation), for example, the church I go to is calvanistic, and I beleived it once, until, I realized that that wasnt what I saw in the bible. also the same with end times view (its reformed baptist) nondenominationalism is siply beleif in the essentials, and agreeing to forbear with one another when there are differences. we accept one another, and celebrate Christ until his return. |

3 | Whats being compared in John 3:14-16? | John 3:16 | THE COT | 107977
in verse 14 of john 3, jesus gives a direct example, "AS moses lifted up the serphant in the wilderness" all were bitten , I understand this in jesus's comparison to mean sin, and whoever looked to the serphant would be cured (or justified , forgiven in the case in the cross). my question is, Is it a valid interpretation to say that all thoes men were poisined, and all sinned in 3:16, then if the serphant was for all those men, can I say that the cross is for the whole world to look in faith at, so they can be cured from sin as well? I ask this because Jesus seams to be making a direct, signifigant description and comparison of what happened with moses, to the big picture in John 3:16. |

4 | WHAT IS JAMES 2 REALY ABOUT? | Not Specified | THE COT | 107974
hi, I was wondering about james 2, is it possable that this chapter from verse 10 to the end is a reference to a faith that produces works which justifies?( gets you into heaven). I am not so sure it is a correct inturpretation for the following reasons... 1 james calles the people "bretherin" many times in this book, twice in this chapter, implying thier salvation. there appears to be no doubts. 2 there is no encouragement to receive christ, no advice to rent and have a new saving faith. what I am thinking is thatsince they are being judged acordingto the law of liberty, (the fact that they are under grace), this is a reference to the judgement of beleivers for rewards. in this judgement, God will be merciless. the mans faith is "dead" IE condemmed, (I get this from the basis of the use of this word in other verses, like the wadges of sin is death)because that is the only work he has to show for his life is that he trusted christ(faith is the one work a sinful man can do to receive salvation, john 6:29, but seaming this judgement is for rewards and not for salvation, he escapes, because of his faith. My interpretation of this verse is that faith with no works is condemed at the judgement of the beleiver. (james 2:12), and (1 cor 3:11-15) |
