1 | What about vs.10 | 2 Tim 1:6 | Snoopy309 | 185100
Huckabee-- I have no idea where the trouble may be .... as the verse is self explanatory...however the word "immortality" may be interpreted as "incorruptibility". Salvation is in 3 tenses; 1--The Christian has been saved from the quilt and penalty of sin. 1 Cor.1:18 2--The Christain is being saved from the habit and dominion of sin. Rom6:14 3--The Christian will be saved at the Lord's return, from bodily infirmities that are the result of sin(s)and God's curse upon the sinful world. 1 Cor. 15:42-44 Salvation is a free gift by grace through faith So by reading that verse and substituting "incorruptibility" for immortality the verse means much more as because of His sacrifice we are able to be saved and HIs son(s) |

2 | EXPLAIN MATTHEW 24 VS. 1-10 | Matt 24:1 | Snoopy309 | 184738
This is a prophecy of the temple in the city of Jerusalem that was destroyed. this verse is known as the Olivet Discourse. The actual destruction was fulfilled in 70 AD when the Roman Army under Titus destroyed the city of Jerusalem. The city was burned and the fires were so hot that the gold in the temple melted and flowed into every crack and crevice on the blocks of the temple and in order for the soldiers to get the precious metal they ( the soldiers) took evry stone and moved it or cast it away from the original site. Jesus' prophecy was fulfilled. Matter of fact some of the original stones of the temple are now in the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem. Hope this answers your question. God is good. |

3 | Is the headcovering literal? (1Cor 11) | 1 Cor 11:5 | Snoopy309 | 184736
A note to clarify, the women of Corinth( a very immoral city) would shave their heads and wear wigs that advertised they were available for sexual games, The fact that women wore head coverings made them stand out as the scriptures state "come out from the world, and things that are of the world" .. Both the OT and NT state that women should be covered....sadly we(Christians) have become laxed and our children will emulate our actions. Our God is a gracious God and we owe Him so much. God Bless!
4 | Which church to get baptized in? | Acts 2:38 | Snoopy309 | 184735
The sacrament of Baptism is after you have acknowledged you are a sinner and accepted Christ as your Lord and Master. The baptism is an outward testimony that you are following Christ.... as in his birth, death and resurrection, the form of baptism is immersion. Acts 2:38 is misleading as baptism will not get you to heaven, other verses Acts 22:16,Rom.6:3-11, Mk 16:16... a final example of heaven bound through Grace and not baptism is found in Lk.23:39-43...if baptism was the way into heaven, how did this thief get in ...only by the grace and shedding of Christs blood on the cross and the thief realizing that Jesus was the Son of God. As to a church find a church that preaches the Word of God and that will immerse you -- May God bless you in your search...ask Him to lead you to the church He has for you. |
