2 | what is the temple veils height | Ex 26:8 | Sir Vant | 43300
Good question. I could do more research to be more sure but upon a quick study the best answer I can give for now is 30 cubits. A cubit is 18 inches. 18x30 - 540 inches - 45 feet. Your SirVant
3 | Judas - betrayer not savior | Acts 1:25 | Sir Vant | 43281
I don't know why you are going off so much on this Judas thing. Has someone tried to tell you that Judas has something to do with our salvation in Christ. I agree with you. He does not. Our salvation is in Christ alone. My only point is that God was and is in control. The story unfolded as God knew it would. The prophecies are a testimony to that fact. Judas' role is part of the story. However, he fate was not a good one. The scriptures even say, "woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born." (See Matthew 26:24) Your SirVant
4 | Red Heifer | Num 19:2 | Sir Vant | 43272
The significance of the red heifer was for the "The Water of Cleansing". Read and study the entire chapter of Numbers 19. The ashes from the sacrifice were kept in a ceremonially clean place outside of the camp. Some of the ashes were put in a jar and fresh water was poured over them. The Water of Cleansing was for purification from sin (See Num. 19:9). Today, as New Testament Christian believers, we believe that the red blood of Jesus Christ, the lamb of God, who was sacrificed on the cross, was shed for the purification of our sins. 5 | A question about God's creation plans | Gen 2:18 | Sir Vant | 43253
I believe that God in the poetic literature of Genesis chose to tell the story the way He did so that the best ideas of marriage could be brought into the picture. The bottom line is that God did create a female human, but the beautiful "poetic" way the story unfolds tell us a fuller, more detailed, account that includes words like "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh." 6 | Judas - betrayer not savior | Acts 1:25 | Sir Vant | 43251
It was a fulfillment of biblical prophesy when Judas' betrayal was bought with 30 pieces of silver. It was also a fulfillment of prophecy when the money was returned and then used to buy the potters field (or field of blood. See Matthew 27 5-10; -- Zech. 11:12,13; Jer. 19:1-13; 32:6-9.). 7 | When do we understand the scriptures? | Luke 24:45 | Sir Vant | 43247
Arnie, Your question was, "At what point does Christ give us understanding of the scriptures?" The answer is, "at the point that we have the Holy Spirit within us and He gives us the understanding spiritually." This is backed up by the scripture itself. Jesus said (as recorded in John 16:5-16) "...when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth..." Please read and study this entire passage. The fact is this -- as believers we have the Holy Spirit within our hearts giving us spiritual understandings. However, natural man can not understand the things of the Spirit, for they are spiritually discerned (1 Cor. 2:14). Your SirVant
