2 | Are the Nephilim descendants of Adam? | Gen 6:4 | Sctt | 46352
Hi Tim You are right nephesh can relate to animals and man without Christ is a brute beast Jude10. So man without God is no better then an animal. Now you state that the scriptures never explain what the image of God is , but if you look 2 Co.4:4 it says In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. Jesus Christ is the image of God. Also Col.1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: So you can see we do know what the image of God is. If you make the natural Adam to be in Gods image you also make him the firstborn of every creature. I thank you may have miss understood my questions let me refraze them. We know Jesus Christ is the image of God so lets look at the questions in this light. 1Co.15:45 1) Adam was made a living soul , Christ was made a quickening spirit the bible makes a difference between the natural man Adam and the spiritual man Christ, so who of these two are made in Gods image? v47 -49 2) The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. 48As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. 49And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. Here it says that we bear the image of the earthy is this the image of God? No! but we shall bear the image of the heavenly , the image of God. How can Adam be in Gods image when the bible says he was of the earth? who then was made in Gods image ? the only one is Jesus Christ and in Him we can now also be made in Gods image. You cannot be made in Gods image except through Christ so how then could Adam have been made into Gods image when Christ was yet to come? |

3 | Are the Nephilim descendants of Adam? | Gen 6:4 | Sctt | 46272
Hi Tim I think you misunderstand what i’m saying. There is a natural account and a spiritual (prophetical) account of the creation of man. The natural man was created in Gen.1:24 he is the living creature. Then in verse 26-27 God says lets make man into our image , these two verses are a prophesy of Christ and us in Christ. Then God shows us how the natural man is to be made into His image , by making a garden and putting man into the garden to be trained up in obedience to Him. As I am always finding that I have to defend my views I would like to ask A couple of questions to those who hold to the traditional view of the creation account 1) If the traditional view is right and Adam was created in innocents how is this in Gods image? 2) if you say he was perfect how then did he sin. 3) 1Co.15:45 says Adam was made a living soul (creature) Does this sound like he was made in the image of god? 4) 1 Co.15:47 says the first man is of the earth earthy is this the image of God? is God earthy? 5)1Co.15:48 as is thr earthy, such are they also that are earthy. If you make the first man Adam into God image are you not then saying Gods image is earthy as we can see clearly here that the first Adam was of the earth? The Adam and Eve in v26-27 is a prophesy of Christ and us in Christ. Look in the same scriptures 1Co.15:45-48 and see that Christ is the only one who was made into the image of God and now because of His death and resurrection we to can be made into the image of God. In answer to your question did you hear this interpretation someplace else first or is it your own? It is what God has shown me. The traditional view held to many unanswered questions or questions that could not be answered except by conjecture ,so I took it before the Lord and this is what He has shown me. I to used to believe much the same way as what was traditionally tought but because of the questions some of which I have asked those who would defend the traditional view to answer I had to go back to the bible. May God give us all a seeing eye and a hearing ear.Amen |

4 | Are the Nephilim descendants of Adam? | Gen 6:4 | Sctt | 46122
Hi Tim good to here from you again first if you read Gen. 1:24 it says And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature (nephesh) after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. Now read Gen.2:7 7And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul ( nephesh). Creature and soul both come from the Hebrew word nephesh. Lets look at a few more verses were nephesh is man. Gen.9:5 5And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man’s brother will I require the life(nephesh) of man. Gen.12:5 5And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother’s son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls(nephesh) that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came. Gen.14:21 21And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons,(nephesh) and take the goods to thyself. Ex.12:16 And in the first day there shall be an holy convocation, and in the seventh day there shall be an holy convocation to you; no manner of work shall be done in them, save that which every man(nephesh) must eat, that only may be done of you. The word nephesh appears 753 times in the OT and almost all (if not all ) deal with man. Now you bring out that the word nephesh in the Greek means psuche. Well lets look at this word in the NT. 1Co.15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul(psuche); the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. This is in direct relation to Gen.1:24 ,2:7 So you could say the first man Adam was made a living Nephesh. Mt 10:39 He that findeth his life(psuche, nephesh) shall lose it: and he that loseth his life(psuche, nephesh) for my sake shall find it. Psuche is used 105 times in the NT and again almost always in conection to man. So you can see by these two words nephesh and psuche that the living creature is man. Now as to the word ktisis lets look at it. It is used in Gods creative works , in the creation of the world and also of man. Ro.8:19-22 shows this very well For the earnest expectation of the creature(ktisis) waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. 20For the creature(ktisis) was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, 21Because the creature(ktisis) itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22For we know that the whole creation(ktisis) groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. So when I used this ktisis in Mk.16:15, Col.1:15,2Cor.5:17 it is to show how man is to be made into the image of God. From a natural man into a spiritual man. So then you have the living creature (natural man ) God takes this natural man and places him in the garden to be made into His image. Now you meantion the creation of Adam and Eve ,I have on another thread posted my view on who they are. I’ll give a very quick run down here Adam was a prophesy of Jesus Christ and Eve was a prophesy of us in Christ. If you would like me to repost these views here I would be happy to explain myself further. All scripture taken from the KJV. In Christ Scott |

5 | Are the Nephilim descendants of Adam? | Gen 6:4 | Sctt | 46059
Hi sparrow This might help.Gen2 Verse 7 says And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Now this is not a retelling of Ch.1:26-27 for this is speaking of the natural man or the first man Adam. You can see from verse 7 that man was formed of the dust of the ground , that God breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. 1CO.15:45 explains this to be the first man Adam , And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Now does this sound like he ( Adam) was made in the image of God? No , because 1Co.15:45 places a difference between living soul ( Adam ) and quickening spirit ( Christ ). Therefore verse 7 is speaking of the natural man. Now what else in verse 7 shows this to be the natural man , it says that he was formed of the dust of the ground. Now the word formed comes from the Hebrew word yatsar meaning to squeeze or mold into shape , it has the same meaning as the word potter in JER.18:6. Therefore you can see that we are to be molded as the potter molds the clay , but molded into what? The image of God! and you cannot obtain His image except though Christ. We have in verse 7 the first time the word LORD appears in connection with man. Now we Know that the LORD is in reference to Christ our redeemer and deliverer as seen in IS.53:1-12. So then we can see that man is to be redeemed though Christ. Now how is this natural man to be made into the image of God? First we have to go back to Gen.1:24 to see when the natural man was created. It says And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind , now this living creature is the natural man ( mankind with all the different races ) for the words living creature and living soul have the same meaning , they come from the same Hebrew words chay- living and nephesh - creature , soul. Now the word nephesh has this meaning in the Hebrew , 1) soul, self, life, creature, person, appetite, mind, living being, desire, emotion, passion 1a) that which breathes, the breathing substance or being, soul, the inner being of man 1b) living being 1c) living being (with life in the blood) 1d) the man himself, self, person or individual 1e) seat of the appetites 1f) seat of emotions and passions 1g) activity of mind 1g1) dubious 1h) activity of the will 1h1) dubious 1i) activity of the character 1i1) dubious strong's lexicon Therefore you can see by this that the living creature and the living soul are both man. Now it can be argued that animals have all these attributes , this is true and man without God is a brute beast JUDE:8 Therefore the living creature created in GEN.1:24 is mankind. Lets look at the creature in the New Testament MK.16:15 says Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. COL.1:14 says that Jesus is the firstborn of every creature. 2CO.5:17 says Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Read RO.1:1-32 and see what man is like without Christ in his life. Therefore we can see by these scriptures that man was not made in the image of God until Christ came. You can see by this that more then one race of man was created in the beginning. There is you answer to who are the Nephilim. In Christ Scott |

Hi Hank I am sorry to hear you say this because I have been judged before all has been said on the matter. I have indevered to answer all question that have been given me though the sciptures, but have been cut off each time by those who cannot or will not answer the questions that I have asked. If as you say my views are already weighed in the balance and found wanting of scriptural support how come those questions I have asked never get answered. Is not this forum here to ask question and give answers to bible questions? Also how can one be judge before all evidance is in? I am willing to discuss my beliefs with anyone weather or not they agree with me. If my views are wrong as you say is it not you duty as a christian to show me by the scriptures were I am wrong? If you can show me by the scriptures my views to be wrong than praise God for I am only after the truth and all christians should be of like mind also. In Christ Scott.
7 | Individualistic Bible reading unbiblical | Eph 4:11 | Sctt | 46025
Hi new creature you are right we should check out everything with prayer to God that His word may inlighten our understanding. But I have come across this time and again that those who have a preconcieved idea of what the bible says do not do this , they won't or cannot answer question that are asked of them because they find it hard to back up what they believe. If one comes in with a differant point of view they may read it but do not check with Gods word to see if it is true or not , but reject it out of hand. May God bring us back to His word as the only source of interpitation of the truth.

Brothers and sisters I have been called into account before the lockman review board for my belief in what the scriptures say concerning the creation of man , the tree of knowledge of good and evil , the serpent in the garden , Gods law and Cain’s wife. I have been accused by some on the forum of not believing in Gods word and I have been called a fool because of my views. I write this not to condemn those that have accused me but to let you judge for yourselves weather or not these views are true. I have written a paper that contains these views and if you would like to read it I would be happy to send it to you. my Email is ScttTst@netscape.net I have given you my Email because I do not know how much longer I will be with you as I may be kicked off of the forum. May God give to those of the lockman foundation who reveiw these things wisdom. I’ll warn you ahead of time that some of what God has shown me goes against what you may have been taught to believe , but it is all backed up with scripture. 1Co.2:9-10 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 10But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. God bless. your brother in Christ, Scott. |

Hi Jensen I do believe that the bible is true, not only that but Jesus Christ is my Lord and saviour. Everything I have written is backed up with scripture, if you check any of my post you will see this to be true.Check my personal file and read what I have written. You my not agree with what is written but it is the way I see things and you have the right to challenge my interpitaion of the scriptures,I also have the same right if I do not beleive the same as you.If you would like to discuss anything I have written with me so that I can explain myself further I would be more then happy to discuss them with you. In Christ Scott P.S. On a personal note I truly do believe the bible is the word of God. I Just have a differant view of the creation account then most. I believe Jesus Christ is the son of God, that He died for us that we might live for Him. God knows my heart and He also knows that as much as is within me that I would not teach anything that I thought was wrong or would lead someone astray. May God though His Holy Spirit give us all wisdom ,revelation in the knowlegde of Him.amen |

13 | Cain and Seth's wives descended from who | Genesis | Sctt | 45611
Hi Jensen I do not beleive God changed His laws but that the laws were fulfilled in Christ. The animal sacrifices point to Jesus as the last sacrifice but He sill had to be sacrificed to fulfill the laws of God. Peters vision was not about God telling him he could eat thing unclean but to teach him to preach the gospel to the gentiles. Because of the law we know when we sin ,because of Jesus Christs sacrifice we have a covering for our sin. So the knowledge of sin(law) is still there but when we cry out to God for the covering blood of Jesus Christ in repentance for our sin we know that it is there also.In Christ Scott

Hi Hank You write When a student of the Bible consistently forms interpretative conclusions that are at variance with the conclusions that serious Bible scholars have agreed upon for hundreds, even thousands, of years, it is fairly obvious that that student has fallen into the error of eisegesis. Do you believe evrything the bible scholars teach? The Jews in the time of Jesus had 4000yrs of teaching but still stumbled when Jesus came because they believed He would come as a lion they did not understand that He would have to come as a lamb first even though it was written in the scriptures. I to value alot of what these scholars say but I do not believe they knew eveything and in some cases are wrong in their interpitation of the scriptures even as the Jews were. Now you say that I should not write what I beleive on this forum because it may lead someone astray. Now I would not lead anyone to beleive that Jesus Christ was not the son of God and that He did not die for our sins for I believe He is and did. But I will challange the interpitation of the what some people beleive the scriptures to say and it is your right to challange my interpitation of the scriptures. Am I always right in my interpitation of what the scriptures say , no! are you no! I not here to create a division among Gods people I came to this site to reason the scripture among brothers and sisters. If you do not beleive what I have written I would be more then happy to reason out with you(all)the scriptures. In Christ Scott

In fact those who disagree with me have not answered any quesstions that I have put forth except were it concerns Cain's wife. One has called me a fool but has brought nothing to the table. Hi 2ndSamuel22 first let me say welcome and you do bring up a valid point ,I believe your reference comes from Gen.20:12 And yet indeed she is my sister; she is the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother; and she became my wife. At first glance this could very well mean his half sister, but as to that view I will give some objections. First the term father can mean grandfather so Sarai could be the daughter of Terahs brother thus making her Abraham’s cousin. This can be seen in Gen.28:13 were God says to Jacob And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac... here God says that Jacob’s father is Abraham but we know that Jacob’s father was actually Isaac. The word daughter can also mean granddaughter as seen in Gen.36:2 Esau took his wives of the daughters of Canaan; Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Aholibamah the daughter of Anah the daughter of Zibeon the Hivite. These daughters were actually Canaans granddaughters. Now lets look more closely at who Sarai is in Gen.11:31 And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son’s son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram’s wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there. Terah who is Abraham’s father does not call Sarai his daughter but his daughter-in-law. To me this would indicate that she was not a direct descendent of Terah.Sarai my have even been the daughter of Haran who died in Ur of the Chaldees Gen11:28 which would make her Lots brother. Lot was also called Abraham’s brother Gen.14:14 And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan. Here Lot is called his brother but we know that Lot was actually his nephew. Also if Haran was Sarai’s father Terah would have adopted Sarai into his family making Sarai his daughter. I know this may sound confusing but the meanings of father, mother ,sister and daughter have a very wide application in scripture. So to say Sarai was Abraham’s sister may not be as accurate as on first glance. All scripture from KJV. In Christ Scott |

Hi Kalos by this interpitation you make God the originator if incest.Since God does not change, and we know He hates incest now He would have hated it then. Another thing we must remember is that these commandments have always been with God. So even if He did not give them to man until Sinai(I beleave much earlier)He would not break them Himself. Also by this interpitation you can say if the laws were not in effect until Sinai that it must have been alright to kill, commit adaultry, lie steal etc.But we see God punishes those who do these things so we know that they are wrong now as well as then.In Christ Scott.

part 2 .Now concerning 1Cor.15:45-49 let me explain it this way. GEN.1:26 Let us make man in our image , after our likeness. The question has to be asked what does God look like if man is to be made in his image? Jn.4:24 says God is a spirit , now we know that a spirit has no material body so how then are we too be made in his image? The image that man is to have is the reflection of God. When God looks at us he must see himself , just as when we look in a mirror and see ourself. This then is the image of God , I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. When God sees this we are in his image. What then can be said about “ after our likeness”? Likeness and image go together , you cannot have one without the other. Likeness is to have Gods nature , and you cannot have Gods image without his nature. Now I must ask you did the first man Adam have Gods image and likeness? If you believe he did then I must ask how then did he sin? We know that God cannot sin and if Adam had all Gods attributes how did he sin? Therefore we must look for one who was made with the image and likeness of God. The man Jesus Christ is the only one who fits the description , and we now though him will be made also into the image and likeness of God. And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 1CO.15:45. Therefore we have the first prophecy of the coming of Jesus Christ our Lord “ Let us make man in our image , after our likeness”. GEN.1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Verse 27 shows that God was indeed looking forward to Jesus Christ when he said “ lets make man in our image , after our likeness , for he says he created them male and female and we know that only in Christ Jesus is male and female made one. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. GAL.3:28. Now lets look at male and female separately , you can see a time difference between when they were made. How much time? the bible does not say , but Adam had time to name all the living creatures that God had made before woman was created. This could have been a twenty four hour day , or a month or even years , for God created the living creatures in abundance. Male and female were created in Gods image , but because we can see there is a time difference between when they were created we can see that God was looking ahead when he said male and female created he them. To what time was he looking forward? To the time of the cross of Christ , were male and female will no longer be separated but joined together in Christ. One more thought to show that this is not Adam that God created in his own image , but a looking forward to Jesus Christ that is the fulfillment of the scripture. JN.3:31 , 34-35 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all. For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. 1CO.15:45-49 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 46Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. 47The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. 48As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. 49And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. Thank God that in Christ we can now fulfill the scripture in the image of God created he him ; male and female created he them. Therefore we have the first prophecy of man being made into Gods image through Christ Jesus. So we can see that verses 26 and 27 is a prophecy of Christ and us in Christ. 20 | Cain and Seth's wives descended from who | Genesis | Sctt | 45277
Hi Emmaus my post was to long so I will have to answer on two smaller ones.Part 1 Hi Emmaus you write Do we know that there was more than one man and woman created? No! In fact Genesis states clearly that Eve was "the mother of all the living." ( Gen 3:20) Meaning that all are decended from her. Do we know that more then one man and one woman was created , I think we do ,let me explain first you have the serpent in the garden it can talk and reason, this is one of the other tribes of man. Cains wife from one of the other tribes. Sons of God saw the daughters of men,Sons of God Adams tribe , daughters of men another tribe. Look at what man is called in Jude 10 a brute beast now look what Jonah 3:8 says 8But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands. You can see that this beast puts on sackcloth and crys to God,it is also with man told to turn from its evil ways and from the violence that is in its hands. So you can see this beast is again from another tribe of man,as the bible makes a differance between man and beast. Now to the second point mother of all living. This is in referance to the seed she would bear Jesus Christ in whom all live, not to all the races of mankind for 2 reasons.1)She had not had any children at the time Adam called her the mother of all living.2)If this is concerning mankind would she not be called the mother of all the dead because from her all are then born in sin,and the wages of sin are death. Now concerning be fruitful and multiply , we do not know if they were going to fulfill this or not as we do not know how long they were in the garden before the fall. Now you qoute Ro.5:15-17 and 1Cor.15:45-49 Concerning Romans it was because the law came into effect that death reigned but in Christ who fulfilled the law we can reign in life. |
