3 | moses, hebrew or egypian etymology | Bible general | Rolff | 242935
Moses' gene pool is understood. Most of the main Hebrew characters in Daniel had both Chaldean and Hebrew names. Is Moses a Hebrew or Egyptian name, i.e. is this the name pharaoh or his parents gave him? Is Gershom a Hebrew or Egyptian name, since his father was Hebrew but his mother was Egyptian. I could not find this info in ISBE or any of my other commentaries. Really appreciate being able to ask my unique questions in this forum.

12 | What date was Adam and Eve created? | Genesis | Rolff | 242695
Bishop Usher put a Creation date of 4004 BC, he had it down to the hour if not the minute. This was the date for over 200 years and the one I grew up memorizing. Smarter minds than mine found his numbers lacking and some rounded the date to 4000 BC or BCE. ... I am a grandfather, more than once I have called my grandson, my son. His father is no longer living and it is a term of endearment. There are places you can study in the genealogies where they skip several generations, possibly only mentioning important or famous members of the line. Can you imagine if every name for 4000 years were mentioned in scripture? It would take many pages of the Bible just to list them. ... Since we were not there, and since the Bible does not say, some put a date of no earlier than 10,000 BC. Our job today is to be like Jesus Christ. This creation date is one of the questions we will have to ask God in eternity.
