1 | can one be saved in heaven? | Heb 9:27 | Roger Wilco | 65667
Answer, don't count on it. Romans 2:5-11 gives a pretty clear picture of how to live to recieve God's rightous judgement of wrath and anger as opposed to peace, honor and glory. See Mark 13:32-37. Jesus warns us quite explicitly that no one knows the hour or the day of the end of the age...Be on Gaurd! Be alert! Watch! I take that to mean we need to be ready in this life. I would like to think the Grace of God is so amazing that my unbelieving friends and relatives will be saved when they get to heaven. That is my prayer when someone just doesn't get it. John 3:16 is pretty clear to me, but maybe God's Grace is bigger than I can understand. |

2 | helping someone to believe? | John 3:16 | Roger Wilco | 65659
Explain how Christ has changed you. An analytical person can not dispute how you feel. The term "born again" means nothing to an analytical person (like Nicodemus), use "new and improved" when describing yourself now and how you used to be. It is a fact that when we invite Jesus into out lives we are changed forever, and you can prove it by the way you live. You have to be honest with yourself or an analytical person will claim hypocrisy. No Christian is perfect. An unsaved person is driven by their sin, a Christian is driven by rightousnous. One way to look at it is: the sin you used to do without thinking about or caring about the consequences, you now commit less often - knowing it is wrong and with God's help you are trying to stop. |

3 | Do you believe in the one true God? | Gen 1:26 | Roger Wilco | 65482
Why attack someone and question their Christian maturity on this issue? Galations 3:26, clearly states we are all "sons of God" through faith in Christ. Romans 8:12-17 elaborates. As Christians, we all hope for eternal life. It is not a big stretch for someone to put it together -as eternal sons (small s) of God. We should show some kindness and build people up, not belittle them. Gal 3:26 NIV 26You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus |

4 | Where was Jesus for 3 days after death? | Luke 23:46 | Roger Wilco | 65450
Good question! How often do we recite this creed without thinking about that? The only reference to this is 1 Peter 3:19. I am curious why you find this important? The Apostle's Creed was made up and then changed many times after the Bible was finished. It originally said something like he "died and went into the grave". Then a few hundred years later someone changed it to "descended into hell" (it doesn't say He spent the whole 3 days there). When I recite the Apostle's Creed I think "He went through hell" and of the terrible suffering Jesus endured on the Cross for me, that He was dead and in the grave, and He came out alive. That, I believe, is the intention of that part of the Creed. Other than the little snippet from 1 Peter, what really happened during those 3 days is a mystery that was chosen not to be revealed. 1 Peter 3:18-20 NIV 18For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit, 19through whom[4] also he went and preached to the spirits in prison 20who disobeyed long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water, |

How can I help? You won't find all the answers here but it is a good place to start if you really don't want to go face to face. What is it you are looking for and what do you find makes you the most confused? |
