3 | Are they the same? | Rev 12:4 | Remdo | 143532
Yesterday in class, the teacher said that a 1/3 of the angels went with Satan when he was cast out of heaven. I asked him where that was and he referred me to Rev. 12:4. It says stars, not angels. Are they the same?
4 | Who or what is the Bride of Christ? | Rev 21:10 | Remdo | 119903
Who or what is the Bride of Christ? In a recent converstation, the person I was conversing with said that we are NOT the Bride of Christ. I started looking for references to prove that was wrong, but instead, found that Rev. seems to be talking about the New Jerusalem being the Bride. I have always equated the "body of Christ" as being the "church" and the church was the "bride of Christ?" Am I wrong? Did I miss something? Can someone help me put the pieces of the puzzle together here? Thanks! |

8 | Isn't baptism needed for salvation? | Mark 16:16 | Remdo | 111134
The scripture you stated along with 1 Peter 3:21, Acts 2:38, Matt. 28:19, and John 3:5 indicate that baptism is an important part of our salvation. Nothing in the water itself saves, but it is "the pledge of a good conscience toward God." ( 1 Peter 3:21). Some have called it the "Demonstration of Devotion", much like a wedding ceremony. I think there are two important things to remember: 1) There are no examples in the New Testatment church of any "unbaptized" believers. All converts followed their decision to believe in Christ with baptism. 2) Jesus himself was baptized. Not for salvation, but as an example and also to recieve the gift of the Holy Spirit. (John1:32-33) To add briefly, some point out that the theif on the Cross was never baptized. This is true. That is why I carefully worded the above statement with "The New Testament Church" which was started after Christ's death. |

9 | Have you spoke in tongues? | 1 Corinthians | Remdo | 111130
I personally have not spoken in tongues. However, 1 Corinthians 14:2-4 says, "2 For one who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God; for no one understands, but in his spirit he speaks mysteries. 3 But one who prophesies speaks to men for edification and exhortation and consolation. 4 One who speaks in a tongue edifies himself; but one who prophesies edifies the church. This seems to indicate the Spirit can give an utterance and it is the gift of tongues. |

10 | Where do our souls go when we die? | Not Specified | Remdo | 111123
When we die, do our souls go immediately to heaven, or do they go to sleep, until Christ returns? I was reading 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. This confuses me a bit because here it talks about the dead in Christ rising first. If our souls are in heaven, what purpose is there to raise a dead body? I have heard some say that our souls just go to sleep, rather than going directly to heaven.
