4 | Watching tv or radio ministers church? | Not Specified | Quizzy | 221535 | ||
I have a really old friend (even though I am changing the identity) and they no longer go to church because they are old and are making sure they dont get hurt because he or she is fragile. However, as a christian, he or she listens to christian radio and watches christian stations where he or she feels fed. That person tithes to the ministries they support and listen and watch. Now, the bible says something about not forsaking the gathering of the brethren, therefore, should he or she still go to a physical church? My second question, having nothing to do with age, is it biblical for one to be a christian and only watch tv or listen to radio to preachers and yet not go to church...could that be considered churh?-even though the bible says not to forsake the gathering of the brethren. Now, for both of these questions I have thought to search Pauls relationship with those he was distant from and communicated via letters. Also, maybe there are old testament examples where prophets communicated via letters ie. from Babylon to Jerusalem or vise versa. These were some ideas I had and I am going to find out what the answer is. Also, the Psalms speaks of the unity of brethren and how its like the oil flowing down Aarons beard..and so it is very biblical...but can one still not come into assembly and yet still be considered going to church? |
