3 | is Gen 2.1 a parabolic image | Bible general | Polycarps | 242804
There were two creations. The rebellion of Satan and the demons was responsible for the devastation of the earth. The Hebrew words "without form and void" are "Tohu and Bohu". These mean confusion and waste. God never creates confusion and waste! That is what Satan did. And probably to show the other angels just where rebellion leads. |

5 | why satan wasn't dealt with right away? | Rom 16:20 | Polycarps | 242802
God wants and needs mankind to choose His ways. Yet man has been rebellious from the first just as Satan rebelled. God must know that we would never rebel after receiving eternal life. There must never be another Satan! So God is using Satan to show us just where wickedness, lies, and rebellion lead--pain, suffering, debauchery, hate, greed, selfishness, etc etc. He allows Satan to broadcast his lies and try to tempt us into evil in order for us to know--for ALL ETERNITY that sin causes every one of us and all in the world, pain, regrets, sorrow, guilt, horror, etc. And that, without God, we're nothing. We're like a small town boxer who would never be ready to take on a world champion by only sparring with the local farm boys. We must face the strongest enemy of good in order to know and choose all that is good; and to know, once for all time, that sin is the cause of all suffering and unhappiness. God has even allowed Satan to blind the entire world in order to show us just how weak and insignificant we are without Him. 2 Cor. 4:4 And no one can become 'unblinded' unless God chooses to 'unblind' him! John 5:44, 65 |

6 | please interpret significance | Mark 4:11 | Polycarps | 242801
Most Christians assume Christ preached in order to save people. But if He did, He was not very successful! Only 120 were still His disciples at His resurrection. When tens of thousands had heard Him and been healed by Him, why so few? Because He is only calling His 'Elect' then and now. Matt. 24:24, 31; Luke 18:7; Rom 8:33 and many other places Rom 11:7 states clearly that Israel is blinded except for God's Elect! There are Firstfruits--God's Elect--and then a great harvest--after a thousand years of Christ's rule when ALL the rest of humanity will be resurrected and taught God's ways. Rev. 20:5-15. (Judgment is a process. See 1 Peter 4:17) |

7 | one is not with Christ and the other is. | Revelation | Polycarps | 242800
There are two groups of people in God's plan: one is called Firstfruits James 1:18, Rev. 4:4. The other group are 'the rest of the dead' Rev 20:5 They are the great harvest. The Firstfruits are a small group, also called The Elect. Matt 24:31; Col. 3:12 and many other places. Rom 11:7 says, "What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded." In Mark 4:11-12 Christ tells His disciples that He speaks ONLY in parables to the people so they will NOT see and will NOT understand LEST they turn and their sins be forgiven them. Read it for yourself. You'll also find it in Matthew 13:10-16 and Luke 8:10 Why? Because there are two groups and only a very few are being called now. The rest will have their chance after the 1000 years. God is fair and "not willing that ANY should perish" 2 Peter 3:9 |

8 | SEEKING FOR THE TRUTH | Matt 13:10 | Polycarps | 242799
Mark 4:11-12 Christ tells His disciples why he speaks in parables. And yet most seem to think He used parables to make the meanings more clear. Wouldn't it be better to just believe what Christ said? If Christ made the Truth clear and the people were made to understand it, how come only about 120 were still His disciples at His death! Not a good average considering all the people He preached to and healed! There is a reason why there were so few. |

9 | sabbath | NT general | Polycarps | 242793
God created the Sabbath and made it Holy. Gen 2:3. It is not for man to make or un-make anything Holy. If you try to 'do away' with the Sabbath, you must also do away with the commands not to murder, lie, steal, commit adultery, etc.
10 | SEARCHING FOR THE TRUTH | 1 John 2:16 | Polycarps | 242792
Yes! Satan is called 'the god if this world' 2 Corinthians 4:4. God is using him to test and try mankind. Man must learn that Satans way of rebellion, lust and greed doesn't work. Man must choose between Satans ways and Gods ways because eternity is forever and God will have none inhabiting eternity who might rebell as Satan did. So this world, though controlled by God, is not His world. It's Satans! Though not for much longer! When mankind is on the verge of total obliteration, Christ will intervene. Then there will be a thousand years under Christ, and after that the resurrection of all who've ever lived. Revelation 20 |

11 | PLZ ANSWER IM YOUNG AND HAVE TO KNOW!!!! | Bible general | Polycarps | 242791
Christ said no man has ascended up to heaven. John 3:13 He should know! And He said that those who were dead were merely 'sleeping'. John11:11, Mark 5:29 Ecclesiastes tells us the dead know nothing! Eccl. 9:5. Being dead is very like being in a deep sleep--you don't have any awareness of anything and when you wake (are resurrected) you don't know how long you've been asleep. Most times the word 'Hell' is used it simply means grave. Acts 2:27 David is speaking of the grave. Look up the Greek word and you'll see it's true! There are millions of people in 'hell'--in fact every person who ever lived and died is in 'hell' except Jesus Christ. But there is a Gehenna fire (translated 'hell' fire) and that is after the final judgment. But the idea that millions of people will go to 'hell fire' simply because they weren't fortunate enough to learn about God, is ridiculous! God is above all, FAIR, He would not condemn anyone who had never even had a chance to accept Him to burn in the lake of fire nor would He have the wicked burn FOREVER in torment. That would be more cruel than anything man has ever done to man! No! The wicked will be burned up and become ashes under our feet. Malachi 4:3 and those who never had a chance to be saved will be resurrected. Because there are TWO resurrections! Read Revelation 20 and Ezekiel 37. A First resurrection and The rest of the dead living again to learn of God's ways and live out their lives choosing whether or not they will obey. They are judged as they live just as converted Christians are being judged NOW, as they live. 1 Peter 4:17 Look what Christ told His disciples in Mark 4:11-12. Christ did NOT want the crowd to understand His teachings! That's why He spoke only in parables to them. And why? Because He said His disciples would be FEW at this time! Matthew 22:14 AND only those His Father called could come to Christ! John 6:44, 65. If Christ WAS trying to save the world, He did a lousy job! Because out of the tens of thousands He preached to and healed, only about 120 disciples were waiting for the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost! Acts 1:15 This is a huge subject and I have only skimmed the surface. But rest assured, there are no people either in heaven or hell! How terrible it would be to be up in heaven watching your loved ones suffer and sorrow, unable to do a thing about it. If that's heaven, no thanks! |

12 | SEARCHING FOR THE TRUTH | 1 John 2:16 | Polycarps | 242790
Yes! God has allowed Satan to be the god of this world (2 Cor. 4:4) God is using Satan to show mankind once for all eternity that the way of rebellion, lust and greed leads only to pain, suffering, and destruction. We must resist Satan and learn that only God's way leads to peace and joy and happiness. We are being tested in order to choose to be like God. Because God will not allow anyone to live for eternity who has not overcome Satan-the father of all evil and of his own free will chosen to follow God. |
