1 | Question re: ESV revision | Not Specified | Marathonman1025 | 181609
I have read that the ESV is/has underwent a revision, and that editions to be published in 2007 and following will be based on this revision. Has anyone actually seen this revision, and if so, is it extensive or just a slight tinkering here and there? Also, is the revised ESV currently accessable online anywhere? Thanks in advance for any information. |

5 | NASB 1995 pub. errors; Holy; my concern | Bible general Archive 2 | Marathonman1025 | 154577
RE: The Updated NAS Ryrie Study Bible: If I remember right, this was the first Bible available in the Updated NASB, and the only one available for a period of several months. I believe that final editing occurred on the 1995 Update after the Ryrie was published and prior to the publishing of other Bibles. Therefore, there would be some minor differences between the Ryrie and any other Bible using the 1995 Update.
6 | Favorite version of the Scriptures? | Bible general Archive 2 | Marathonman1025 | 151794
Amen, brother Kalos. I would just add that if anyone is interested in the Ryken book, the ESV website, I believe it's www.esv.org, has a 32 page summary of the book available for free download as a PDF file. It is called "Choosing a Bible".

8 | ESV Bible evaluations? | Leviticus | Marathonman1025 | 146267
It is at the top of my list, along with the Updated NASB. In fact, I may well switch back to it as my default Bible next month. While it's not perfect (I also have problems with the lack of capitalized pronoun reference to Deity, for example), I do find it to be a wonderful blend of accuracy and pleasant readability. Another big selling point for me personally was the release of Max McLean's Listener Bible in the ESV. I travel quite a bit and count it a real blessing to have a high quality audio bible program available. |

9 | ESV Reformation Study Bible? | Not Specified | Marathonman1025 | 143873
I see that the Reformation Study Bible will soon be available using the ESV. As I've never used the Reformation Study Bible (it was formerly known as the Geneva Study Bible which used the NKJV) I'm curious as to opinions anyone who's familiar with it has. Thanks.

11 | Question: ESV or NASB Update | Not Specified | Marathonman1025 | 125280
OK, I'm in the process of deciding whether to use the ESV or NASB Update as my primary translation for personal study. I would appreciate knowing which one anyone would select, if you had to choose one or the other, and especially the reason(s) why. Thanks.

13 | updated NASB Thompson Chain Where find? | Bible general Archive 1 | Marathonman1025 | 109365
Let me say up front that I love the Thompson Chain Reference Bible. It's emphasis on using scripture to interpret scripture, as well as the overall quality of the bibles manufactured, are the reasons why. Having said this, I am to this day extremely disappointed that Kirkbride has not seen fit to revise their NASB edition in the 1995 update. It is only available in the original 1977 edition. They have lost at least one customer because of their refusal to do this. |

14 | Brand new out of date NASB? | Bible general Archive 1 | Marathonman1025 | 85399
Agreed. I too have a Foundation updated NASB side column wide margin reference edition, in burgandy calfskin, and it is without a doubt the most beautiful Bible I've been fortunate enough to own. I also love the print font size, 11 point I believe, which is perfect, as well as the margin space for notes (the single column format is better suited for that, IMHO).
