1 | what do JW and Mormons believe | Bible general Archive 4 | Makarios | 228681
Greetings Legsrandall, You asked, "Do the Mormons and the Jehovah's Witnesses believe Jesus Christ and satan are brothers?" The Mormons definitely do: see http://www.bible-truth.org/jesusbro.htm or http://www.suite101.com/content/are-jesus-and-satan-brothers-a38726. The Jehovah's Witnesses believe that Jesus was Michael the Archangel and they also believe that Jesus is not co-equal in Deity with God the Father (http://christiananswers.net/q-eden/edn-r005.html). The Biblical doctrine of the Trinity shows these cults for what they are - false teaching being used by Satan to lead the world astray from the truth. Blessings to you, Makarios |

2 | Judging the "Teachers" | Ezek 3:17 | Makarios | 228552
Greetings The Warrior, You asked, "some time ago i read in the Bible that those who are "teachers" of The Word will be judged more closely and so forth upon the judgment, James 3:1, 2:12, covers a similar passage in the New Testament, but i remember also reading about it in the Old Testament, could you assist me in locating the passage, giving me the book, chapter and verse?" Perhaps you are thinking of Ezekiel 3:17-18; 33:7-9. Blessings to you, Makarios |

3 | what assarance there will be a judgement | Matt 10:15 | Makarios | 228529
Greetings Mitch, You asked, "What assurance do we have that there will be a judgment?" Jesus predicted judgment! Therefore, we have all of the assurance that we need that there will be a judgment (see John 5:27,29; 8:16). See also Matt. 10:15; 11:22,24; 12:36,41-42; John 9:39; 16:8,11. But those who put their faith in Christ will not be part of the Great White Throne judgment (see John 5:24 and Revelation 20:4): John 5:24 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life." 4 | How many twin babies are in the bible? | Gen 25:24 | Makarios | 228527
Greetings Pastor B! Twins in the Bible? The classic and most famous occurrence is in Genesis 25:21-26 with Jacob and Esau. There was Perez and Zerah in Genesis 38:27-30. Thomas, one of the disciples, was thought to be a twin (John 20:24). But that's about all I can find. Blessings to you, Makarios |

5 | Asking satan to leave a person alone | James 4:7 | Makarios | 228392
Greetings Angelkiss1360, You stated, "If you feel you are being attacked by Satan, does the bible advise as to how to get him to leave you alone? I have asked God to tell satan to leave me alone; and I have also told satan to leave me alone. Which would be correct -- or is their other biblical advice?" James 4:7 "Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you." As long as you dwell in His Word and in prayer, you can keep from sinning "and do not give the devil an opportunity." (Ephesians 4:7) Blessings to you, Makarios |

6 | WHY IMPECCABILITY? | 2 Cor 5:21 | Makarios | 228267
Greetings JJE, You asked, "HAS THE PECCABILITY OF CHRIST EVER BEEN DISCUSSED ON THE FORUM? IF SO GIVE ME DIRECTION." Peccable is an adjective that means 'liable to sin or error.' We know from Scripture that Christ was neither liable to sin or error: 2 Cor. 5:21 "He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." 1 Peter 2:22 "He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth." Hebrews 4:15 "For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin." Hebrews 7:26 "For it was indeed fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, innocent, unstained, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens." 1 John 3:5 "You know that he appeared to take away sins, and in him there is no sin." Since Scripture shows that there is absolutely no question in regards to the impeccability of Christ, then there is absolutely no argument needed otherwise. Blessings to you, Makarios |

7 | regulation regarding tattooing | 1 Cor 6:19 | Makarios | 228265
Greetings Joan, You asked, "Where in the Bible does it say that God firbids tattooing on the body?" Perhaps 1 Cor. 6:19 is what you are looking for: 1 Cor. 6:19 "Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?" 10 | is the oldest man immortal | Gen 5:27 | Makarios | 228106
two strikes against his immortality? --Makarios
11 | Seir's ancestory | Gen 36:20 | Makarios | 228105
Greetings AtHome0728, After doing a bit of bouncing around in Scripture, I found this commentary helpful from John Gill: ""Before", as the Targum of Jonathan adds, that is, before it was inhabited by Esau and his posterity, and called Edom, and had from him the name of Seir; but the Horites dwelt here before him, even in Abraham's time, Gen_14:6; and who were so called from their dwelling under ground in holes and caves, with which the further part of the land of Edom abounded, and are the same the Greeks call Trogloditae: Jarchi says, from their Rabbins, these were very expert in the nature of the land, and knew what was fit for olives and what for vines. Now the genealogy of this man is here given, partly to show who were the ancient inhabitants of this land before they were drove out, and succeeded by Esau and his sons, Deu_1:12; and partly because of the intermarriages of Esau and his posterity with them, whereby they more easily came into the possession of the country; for Esau married the daughter of Anah, the son of Zibeon, a son of Seir, Gen_36:11; and Eliphaz took Timna, a sister of Lotan the son of Seir, to be his concubine, Gen_36:12; the names of the sons of Seir follow:" Genesis 14:5-7 mentions the Horites in Mount Seir along with several other aboriginal people, such as the Rephaim. So, perhaps it is best understood that the Bible mentions a person, Seir, in Genesis 36:20 and 1 Chronicles 1:38 as a representative of the original people of the land of which Esau intermarried, and the land actually became known as "Edom" (and therefore Seir is Edom) because the Edomites eventually took it over. 12 | what are the letters to st paul about ? | Phil 2:22 | Makarios | 228099
Greetings Sadie Louise, You asked, "What are the letters to St. Paul about ?" Paul wrote his letters to the Christian church for the purpose of the advancement of the gospel of Jesus Christ! It is this Good News, this gospel message, that is powerful for changing lives, piercing hearts, and bringing people into a relationship with God Himself. Blessings to you, Makarios |

13 | how is the oldest man that old | Gen 5:27 | Makarios | 228097
Greetings Sadie Louise, You asked, "How is the oldest man in the Bible that old?" Methuselah lived to be 969 years old (Genesis 5:27). The Ryrie Study Bible suggests that perhaps the longevity of these patriarchs was due to different atmospheric conditions before the Flood, or that it simply took some time for the effect of sin to shorten man's lifespan. Regardless, we know that the span of life was much shorter after the flood; Moses even saying (Psalm 90:10) that it would be 70 years (80 years if due to strength). Blessings to you, Makarios |

14 | is the oldest man immortal | Gen 5:27 | Makarios | 228094
Greetings Sadie Louise, The oldest person in the Bible was Methuselah, who lived to be 969 years old, and the Bible says that he died (Genesis 5:27). In fact, the Flood occurred 969 years after he was born as well. Since the Bible says that he died, then he was definitely not immortal. Blessings to you, Makarios |

15 | you need not that any man teach you | Gen 1:1 | Makarios | 228047
Greetings John Ryals, You asked, "Can anyone explain 1st John 2:27. Thank You." 1 John 2:27 "As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him." (NASB) Here is some good commentary on this verse: 2:27 .."have no need for anyone to teach you. Since the Bible constantly advocates teaching (Matt. 28:20; 1 Cor. 12:28; Eph. 4:11; Col. 3:16; 1 Tim. 4:11; 2 Tim. 2:2,24), John is not ruling out human teachers. At the time when he wrote, however, Gnostic teachers were insisting that the teaching of the apostles was to be supplemented with the "higher knowledge" that they (the Gnostics) claimed to possess. John's response was that what the readers were taught under the Spirit's ministry through the apostles not only was adequate but was the only reliable truth. teaches you. The teaching ministry of the Holy Spirit (what is commonly called illumination) does not involve revelation of new truth or the explanation of all difficult passages of Scripture to our satisfaction. Rather, it is the development of the capacity to appreciate and appropriate God's truth already revealed- making the Bible meaningful in thought and daily living. all things. All things necessary to know for salvation and Christian living." (1) (1) pg. 1833, Zondervan NASB Study Bible I hope that his helps! Blessings to you, Makarios |

16 | is it wrong? | 1 Tim 2:12 | Makarios | 228046
Greetings Julia, When speaking of certain spiritual gifts, such as preaching and teaching, the Spirit gives each gift "as He wills": 1 Corinthians 12:11 "But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills." So, if the Holy Spirit gives the gift of preaching to a woman, then who are we to stand in the way of the Holy Spirit? Does the Holy Spirit check gender before distributing each gift? The verse above says "as He wills." Blessings to you, Makarios |
