All I can say is, you are blind, and you pick sentences out of the opera like some people pick sentences out of the bible, VERY out of context. You don't see and I'm not interested in persuading you to see, only God can make people see love. The End. Lime. |

2 | RELIGION HOMEWORK HELP | Rom 12:2 | LimeJuice | 40465
The writers seem to have known enough about Jesus to know that He was not any ordinary man. . When we are infants, we gaze up into our Father's eyes lovingly, we don't know a whole lot about Him, our relationship with Him is new, as far as our minds are concerned. . Now, as we grow up, we learn more about our Father. Certainly we learn that He is all powerful, but do you honestly think that Jesus, as 100 percent man and 100 percent God, was not physically and emotionally exhausted (the man part) as the crowds sought Him out for healing and all of their needs? The play makes one ponder this point. . Can we really ignore how someone else sees Christ, and the different revelations that they may have? We know that if everyone were just like us, the whole body of Christ would be one big toe, or one big elbow. But as it is, an elbow has a different function and a unique relationship to the Head, and so on and so forth for each part of the body. Were the play writers just infants in the Lord at the time of their authoring the play? Who are we to say, no they weren't? So you are older in Christ, does that mean, that if you wrote a play about Jesus, that your portrayal of Him would be any more accurate? Could there be things about God that you might not know, and therefore misrepresent Him in some ways? Oh yes. So, the play writers had faults. They weren't accurate in everything they concluded. God looks at the heart. Would they follow Jesus today if He showed up at their door? Maybe they would follow Him more closely than you realize. Maybe they already are. Could God take the love and little understanding they had about Him, and reach people? He does it every day. He does it through you. You are faulty, but if you ever present the gospel to someone, and that person accepts Christ, your faulty views of God don't stop the Holy Spirit from touching the other person. You have some views of God that are right on and correct, and some views that are faulty, we all do, we are human. You cannot say that you know everything there is to know. So all I'm asking is for you to view what is in the glass, and not what is left out. You may be surprised that the little that is in the glass, because it is God, and Holy, is enough to quench a thirst for a lifetime. Lime |

Ed, I thank you for the tone of your response and the love and respect you give me, even though you disagree with my opinion. I find that the most heartwarming thing I have run across in this whole dialogue. I still disagree that the play portrays Jesus in an unholy way. So we disagree, not a big deal to me. I appreciate your kindness more than you can imagine at this point. In Christ, In His Love, Lime |

Paul said he rejoiced that the guys in jail were saying the name of Jesus despite what they were saying about Him, because the name of Jesus was being spread. I guess Paul and I share this in common, we don't think we know it all, we aren't hyper-critical of others' experiences with Jesus, only glad when the focus is on Him. Your comments here are biting and unnecessarily harsh, and to me, show a complete lack of humility and a great deal of pride in your own mind. You act like you have it all figured out, what is right, what is wrong, what is sin, what is not, and I'm just saying, you need to seriously take another look at what it means to stand humbly before God .... because you aren't doing it here. 6 | RELIGION HOMEWORK HELP | Rom 12:2 | LimeJuice | 40339
You write "It does not matter how much the foolish people who put on Jesus Christ, Superstar may love Jesus." But the Bible writes, "Whoever lives in love, lives in God, and God in Him." 1 John 4 You write "you lack both discernment and teachability if you refuse to listen to the number of wise brothers and sisters on this forum who have pointed out to you exactly why the Jesus of the musical is not the Jesus of the bible." Just because you and a couple of other people on this forum have criticized what the Holy Spirit did in our Youth Group through this play, isn't going to make a dent in our relationship with Christ, our growth in Him, nor our fond memories of how we shared God while seeing this play at different churches and enjoying the album as we fellowshiped with one another. I'm sorry you cannot see it, but I think it is time for this dialogue to cease. You are doing nothing but criticizing me and the Holy Spirit in my life, and I know that is not how God intends for christians to communicate with each other. Lime |

I find this whole conversation unfruitful. I said simply, I listened to the album with my youth group when I was young, the Holy Spirit touched me through it, I accepted no "different gospel," I accepted the One and Only Jesus Christ, and I am tired of defending myself and God in me .... as I said numerous times before, if anyone has a problem with Christ in me or the Holy Spirit working in my life, please take it up with the Lord, as He alone is my righteousness. Weary Now, LimeJuice |

9 | The point of God's questions to Job? | Job | LimeJuice | 40285
What point is God driving home to Job? That He has power beyond man's power .... that He takes care of things that we cannot even comprehend or understand .... His ways are not our ways .... nor His thoughts our thoughts .... He may have reasons for doing things that we do not understand right now or ever .... He is the breath of life in life. Love, Lime |

10 | baptism | Luke 3:3 | LimeJuice | 40284
Romans 2:25ÊÊÊCircumcision has value if you observe the law, but if you break the law, you have become as though you had not been circumcised. The covenant of circumcision seemed to be the Old Covenant of the law .... but those who had been circumcised broke the law and so needed to repent and have the Lord repair their hearts and lives, baptism was a way for them to come forward and declare their need for God and ask for His forgivness and new life through Jesus Christ. .... what do you think, angel? |

very good answer, Chearie, John the Baptist indeed was a powerful preacher! John Chapter One ...... 6ÊÊÊThere came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. 7ÊÊÊHe came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe. 8ÊÊÊHe himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. My conversation with others seems to have degenerated, Guardian Seraphim. I hope that you have received enough help to write your essay. I came back to your question to look at it again, and see if I can help further, because that is what christians are supposed to do for each other, not argue. ........................................................................It has been a long time since I saw the play, but the things that made an impression upon me were ...... the way Christ was so gentle and loved so much and gave of Himself until exhaustion ......... the love and awe that Mary Magdalene felt when she was with the Lord .......... getting to know Jesus as Lord and being so in awe of the Love that He showed, which was different than any other love she had ever known ........... the pharisees, of course, were there .......... Herod, Pontious Pilate ...... Barabus ...... the cross ....... I hope this helps. Mainly the gospel, that Jesus Christ is the Messiah of the World, came and lived a sinless life, loved and helped and taught people, gave of Himself relentlessly, and suffered greatly and died on the cross for our sins. Love ya, Lime |

You ask "why would the Holy Spirit dwell in an unclean place?" God loves us, and the Holy Spirit dwells in a clean place because of Jesus' blood and His mercy, not because of any works that we do. God works through empty vessels all the time, it is only when we are empty of our own selves that the Holy Spirit can fill us and the power of God can manifest itself through us. The times that I have truly experienced His Power are the times I have been most humbled. You write "the portrayal of Jesus in Jesus Christ Super Star should be stench in the nostrils of any genuine Christian" I listened to it with a heart that was open to the Holy Spirit, not a mind that was judgmental. I was a teenager, accepting the Lord into my heart. This is not stench, but it is beautiful, and if you cannot see it, I'm sorry, but it does not make my experiences any the less real, or any the less beautiful, and it does not negate the Holy Spirit's work through this play. Now, I am tired of defending myself, as it means little to me to be judged by you. Love and Weariness, Lime |

I didn't see The Last Temptation of Christ. You write "I am most definitely attacking your wrong-headedness in trying to put God's blessing on anything and everything that makes even the most vague reference to the Bible." I don't need to put God's blessing on things, God does this Himself. Whether you choose to see the blessing or not. Love, Lime |

hmmmm .... the churches that I went to, who put on the play, did not hate Jesus Christ. Don't you think you are limiting God? It really doesn't matter, God will work through whomever He wishes to reach whomever He wishes despite whether some humans believe He can or not, or it is "proper" or not. LOVE Lime |
