1 | Everyone who loves is of God?? | 1 John 5:12 | LibertyBelle | 133707
This same person gave me 1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. By this scripture she believes that anyone who loves knows God. How do I answer that? I've given her other scriptures that seemingly contradict 4:7, but is there any other way I can persuade her that everyone is not God's child and will not be saved just because they love? |

2 | Everyone saved? because its God's will? | 1 John 5:12 | LibertyBelle | 133705
Thank you so much, Tim. Those were the scriptures I was looking for. God bless you.
3 | Everyone saved? because its God's will? | Not Specified | LibertyBelle | 133694
Is it scriptural that God forsakes all those who go astray? Or did Jesus not teach that His Father wills for none of us to be lost?

5 | Homosexuality, sin or not? | Lev 18:22 | LibertyBelle | 133354
Thanks, Hank! I think I'm about done with these guys. If it's not calling me "homophobe", it's calling me a "bigot" and accusing me of being intolerant of other's lifestyles. I'm not even sure I should be discussing this with them. The scripture in Deuteronomy was interesting and informative. I've never seen that. I looked it up in my Strong's and sure enough, you were right! I couldn't persuade you to join the forum where I've been posting and about to leave, could I? If you care to look at it, it's called "First Coast News forum." I'd post the link in here but I don't think this thing will accept it. I tried it once and it sent me back to take it out. It shouldn't be too hard to put the name of the forum in a search bar, though. It'll take you right to it, I'm sure. Sorry this is so late in responding. I've had a busy week last week. You can even register with your name "Hank", as there is no one using that name on the forum. Again, thanks for your information. LB |

6 | Homosexuality, sin or not? | 1 Cor 6:9 | LibertyBelle | 132782
Here is the scripture explaining the reason God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. "Behold, this was the sin of your sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy-Ezekial 16:49." Where do we get the idea that it was destroyed because of sodomy? Was it because the men were lusting for the angels that came for Lot and his family? or are there scriptures that specifically state this?
7 | Homosexuality, sin or not? | Not Specified | LibertyBelle | 132709
Recently the discussion of homosexuality and Sodom and Gomorrah was brought up. Someone said, "The sin that God destroyed those cities was the lack of hospitality and gave a scripture to back it (sorry, I don't have the scripture) and that there is not anything in the Bible that says God is against homosexuality. Anyway, to make a long story short, I was not able to prove or explain that this was the reason of the destruction. Now he has me wondering, "IS homosexuality alright?" He also said that because Jesus never mentioned homosexuality, it is okay with Him. What say you? (anyone!)

It's me, again. The same atheist has challenged that Isaiah is NOT a prophecy of the Lord's birth, life and death. BECAUSE he says, it's written in PAST TENSE, so therefore, cannot be a prophecy, since prophecies are for the future only. How do I answer this? Any suggestions? Any are welcome!
13 | Hate father, mother? sell, give all? | Luke 14:26 | LibertyBelle | 131301
The internet is a wonderful tool for the Lord's work, is it not? In the future when I need help, I pray I can receive it as quickly as I did today. It is my greatest joy to know that I belong to the family of God!!! and I do covet their prayers. Thank you and God's richest blessings on all of you!
14 | Hate father, mother? sell, give all? | Luke 14:26 | LibertyBelle | 131292
You must know that atheist I'm dealing with! ;-) Thank you so very much. Your answer was extremely helpful. I am not educated in the ways of trickery, nor do I want to be, but sometimes it pays to be, doesn't it? Ah! this scripture just came to mind: "Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves." Again, thank you! God bless you, too, as you do the Lord's work! |

15 | Hate father, mother? sell, give all? | Luke 14:26 | LibertyBelle | 131288
How do I answer an atheist who is always taunting Christians on another forum with this verse telling them that they must hate their father, mother and family in order to be one of Christ's disciples? Telling him that it's not meant to be literal doesn't satisfy him. Also, "sell all that you own and come and follow Me." I am at a loss for an effective way to answer him. It's not him that concerns me. It's the lurkers who read the forum and those whose faith isn't stablished yet, and those who are seeking the Truth.
