1 | Sex before marriage | Heb 13:4 | Kaylo199 | 104251
That was a great answer! I especially took note that the Greek word for "fornication" is "porneia" - looks like the word "pornography" came out of this word also, which is explicit sex usually outside of marriage.
2 | Sex before marriage | Heb 13:4 | Kaylo199 | 104249
Laeticia - Blessings! Let me answer first by stating what sex outside of marriage actually is termed, along with its definition. Biblically, sex outside of marriage is "fornication." The definition of fornication is "consensual sexual intercourse between two persons not married to each other" (merriam webster). Located in the very verse you cite, (Hebrews 13:4), is the statement, "fornicators...will be judged." If fornication (sex outside of marriage) is not sin, why would God say He is going to judge those who practice it? You actually have to go no further than the verse you cite for your answer. Any time fornication is mentioned in the bible (particularly the New Testament) it is mentioned in the context of sin. Also, in biblical terms, fornication is likened to idolatry, which is idol worship. The book of Hosea speaks constantly of this. In that book, God instructed Hosea to marry Gomer, a woman who was a prostitute! God had Hosea to do this so that Hosea could effectively minister God's message to the Israelites that they had turned to other gods and were worshipping idols (and therefore were spiritually "unfaithful" to Him). God told the Israelites in that book that they were "playing the harlot." Sex ultimately is an act of worship, whether in its proper biblical context or outside of it. Outside of marriage, it is fornication and therefore idolatry, which is sin. No one who is outside of covenant with God can worship Him. And therefore those who have no covenant with each other should not engage themselves sexually with one another. Hope that helps. Blessings to you! |

4 | how do you get out of being a retbate | Romans | Kaylo199 | 104206
Of course! Before God, sin is sin. There is no one sin worse than the next in His eyes. Sin is the reprobate condition of our heart. SINS is what we DO as a result of a sinful heart. Jesus died for the sins of the whole world! (John 3:16). It does not matter what you have done. If you feel like you want to confess your sins to the Lord and turn away from them, be encouraged because that means it's God Himself helping you to do it! And why would he lead you to do it if He didn't want to save you and make you His own? Look what Jesus says in this verse: John 6:37: "All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out." He wants you. Or whoever it is that wants forgiveness for their sin. And remember 1 John 1:9: "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins." The forgiveness is a done deal. All that's left for us to do is receive it! Blessings to you! |

5 | Romans2:14 Can Nonbelievers goto Heaven? | Mark 10:18 | Kaylo199 | 104203
If you search many of the epistles of Paul, they are clear that NO one is justified by God simply by WORKS. Salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ alone. True faith in Jesus Christ, however, will result in good works. Our works will not save us, but our works WILL BE REWARDED. If we could be saved by our "good works" and a "good heart" then why in the world did Jesus have to suffer like He did?? "Without the shedding of blood there is NO remission of sins." (Hebrews 9:22; emphasis mine) Also, look at Jesus' conversation with Nicodemus in Chapter 3 of John. "Unless a man is born of water and the Spirit, He cannot enter the Kingdom of God." (John 3:5) Not only may Gentiles who do not know God not enter heaven, but NO ONE who has not been born of the Holy Spirit and received Jesus Christ as their personal savior may enter. But thanks be to God! "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Rom 6:23. Blessings to you! |

6 | Do you recall the day of your Salvation | John 12:32 | Kaylo199 | 104202
I recall the day I was saved! I had been in an absolutely hellish relationship with a man. When the relationship was mercifully over, I was a scared wreck. Amongst my many fears was that he would come back and kill me, and/or that he had without a doubt given me AIDS. My level of anxiety was high to be sure. I talked to my mom and she told me "if you want some peace, come to church." Well, I went to church. Just the sight of the choir processing and singing brought me to tears. Why, I don't know, but even though I did not give my life to the Lord that day, I found myself asking for a bible of my own. My mother handed me a brand new Living Bible with a companion workbook called "A Handbook for Christian Maturity." I took those books back to my apartment and began reading. For the first time, my eyes were opened. I believed that Jesus was real! I had grown up in Catholic school all my life and had never seen Him the way I did in that moment! The book guided me to confessing my sins and asking Jesus into my heart. What moved me most though, were Jesus words "I will never leave you nor forsake you." That was it for me. The next time I saw my mother, I confessed things to her that I'd done behind her back over the years. And the first miracle I experienced was, I quit smoking! That was 11 years ago. Sometimes I'm up, sometimes I'm down, sometimes I stumble and fall. But the Lord has not failed me yet, and I know He never will! --Kim |

7 | Slain or knocked down | Eph 4:14 | Kaylo199 | 104196
How unfortunate that that happened to you! May the Lord have mercy on he who pushed you down. As I understand it, "slain in the Spirit" simply means that flesh is not able to stand in the manifested presence of God, and what happens usually is that one's body literally becomes weak and "submits" or falls back or forward in prostration before the Lord. The fact that someone falls to the floor does not always mean that it is by the Spirit's power, and the fact that another person may NOT fall while being prayed for does not mean that they are any less saved. It would be more fortunate if we as Christians would focus more on keeping the command of Jesus, that is, loving one another, and abide in Him that we may bear the FRUIT of the Spirit and attract others to Him, rather than seeing things like being slain in the Spirit and speaking in tongues as spiritual calling cards. He who pushed you was probably in his flesh and was not going to be satisfied until you hit the floor as a way of saving face. Don't be concerned. The Lord loves you. Continue to seek his presence. Knock and the door will be opened to you. Blessings! |

8 | is it possiable for us to sin in heaven | Rev 22:3 | Kaylo199 | 104195
The bible says that when we see Jesus as He truly is, we shall be like Him. (1 John 3:2) If we will be like Jesus, it will not be possible for us to sin because Jesus does not sin. We will still have free will. But our free will, will have been completely and utterly sanctified.
