Thank you, CDBJ! I loved the scripture you provided. I especially liked Matthew 24:21-22... Did he mean that for the elect's sake He would make the sun set earlier in the day? I think not. Also, 2 Thes. 2:3 struck a chord because this gentleman keeps saying that I should read this book or that book and I basically told him that I don't lean on man's understanding but G-d's. I'll definitely share that scripture with him. I'll also check out the link you provided. Thank you so much! Kathy |

Thank you, Mark! The biggest argument the gentleman I'm have this discussion with believes that the trib already occurred and that scripture must be read with the "right frame of mind" and that one "must take into consideration WHO was being addressed." Further, he says that, "time indicators show that its a first century tribulation, one that climaxed with the destruction of the temple in AD 70" and "if you read it expecting a still future trib, then you overlook the time indicators of 'soon,' 'very soon,' 'I am coming quickly,' etc. and you ignore to whom the passage was addressed and take it upon yourself that its talking about you." I would be interested to hear your response to that. Thanks again! Kathy |

3 | Pre-Trib Rapture Assistance | Not Specified | KathyInKY | 175846
I believe in a Pre-Tribulation rapture and in my meager efforts as an apoligist am making the case for this. My question is, can somebody give me examples of G-d's consistency relative to removing believers from wrath? I've thought of two, those being: 1) The great flood, and 2) Sodom and Gomorrah. Can you help me with other examples, I'm toast and brain dead on the issue at this juncture. :-) Thanks! Kathy

5 | End times/birth pains scripture? | Not Specified | KathyInKY | 141914
It seems to me that there is scripture that mentions that the end times will be like birth pains. (I always assumed that to mean that things such as natural disasters would increase in intensity like labor pains increase in intensity). The only scripture that I've been able to find is: “We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.” Romans 8:22-25 NIV Is this the scripture I was thinking of or is there another (or none) that I am trying to recall? Thanks! |

7 | Christian Berating Evangelism | Not Specified | KathyInKY | 137613
I have a friend who is sharing the word in a forum. This happens frequently in the forum and is accepted. However, there is another poster, who says she is Christian but she is telling my friend (in her public posts) that he shouldn't be "shoving the gospel down people's throats because they'll never listen that way." My question is, is there scripture that addresses what she is "doing?" I want to privately share such scripture with her. Thank you.

What scripture best supports an answer to the question/s: "How do you know that you are right and muslims or Buddhists (sp?) are wrong? What makes you so sure that you are worshiping the RIGHT God?" |

12 | Why does God allow pain and suffering? | Not Specified | KathyInKY | 135304
I believe it is to bring us in closer relationship with him or to prepare the soil of the unsaved for His seed, but is there a verse that expains this (other than the entire book of Job or the parables regarding soil/seed)? I want to witness to parents at the Children's hospital and this is something they always want to know. "If there is a God than why....?" Thanks!
