1 | Christians with demon oppression | Not Specified | Kanchi | 166488
What can be done for Christians suffering from demonic oppression? Sometimes my friend has terrible oppression, and even when she prays in Jesus' name against it, nothing happens. The demons actually mock Jesus name to her and tell her it has no power. I don't know what to tell her.

I don't understand... I saw another question where you said that a believer cannot be indwelt by the Holy Spirit and also by Satan (salt and fresh water theme....) but then Judas cannot possibly be a believer if Satan entered him....

6 | Was Judas Iscariot a believer? | Not Specified | Kanchi | 159840
If Jesus chose the twelve apostles, and He chose Judas, was Judas a believer? And how can Judas have been a believer if "Satan entered him" when he betrayed Jesus? (I'm thinking of the passage that says a spring cannot produce both salt and fresh water). If Judas was NOT a believer, then did Jesus just intentionally choose a non-believer to betray Him? Wouldn't intentionally enlisting someone Satan himself could enter have had negative effects on His earthly ministry?

Thanks... I thought of a couple more points to that question. If no one has been to heaven and returned, then what about 2 Cor. 12:2-4? This man obviously returned since Paul knew of his experience. And, if no one has been to heaven but Jesus, how did he say to the thief on his side "Today you will be with me in Paradise?" I suppose this all makes sense if souls go immediately to heaven until the 1000-year reign on earth (I don't know much about that, sorry if it's innaccurate). Plus, what about the prophets and dreams and visions? Are those not divine?

12 | Do people immediately go to heaven? | Not Specified | Kanchi | 159586
In John 3:13 it says that "No noe has ever gone into heaven except the one who came form heaven -- the Son of Man." Does this hold with the idea of Purgatory? What about the belief that people go to heaven when they die? Where do they go? Where are souls at rest until the return of Jesus?

14 | Are women speaking directed by God? | 1 Cor 14:34 | Kanchi | 158914
I have often wondered about this myself. I'm a woman, and I can tell you that I would be highly uncomfortable with a female pastor. I don't even know why -- there are several key women in the old testament. Deborah was even a judge of Israel, which would I guess be the equivalent of a female president (gasp!). Maybe I'm wrong. I do believe that God is the head of man, as man is the head of woman. I don't believe that means man and woman are unequal but I think that God designed women to be a helpmeet to their husbands, and even brothers and fathers. Perhaps God just convicts different people differently. For me, I could never be comfortable being in a position of leadership over men, or speaking (if you are talking about preaching-speaking). But hey, maybe I'm old-fashioned for a young gal.... As far as women speaking... there were prophetesses, Deborah the judge, Esther the queen who saved the Jews, and many many notable women mentioned in the Bible, however I have never read of a women in a pastoral sort of leadership role. I don't know. That's one I'll be asking the Father when I get home...
15 | Who killed King Saul? | Not Specified | Kanchi | 158838
In the end of 1 Samuel, Saul asks his armour-bearer to kill him because he is wounded. When his armour-bearer refuses because he is scared, it says "Saul took his own sword and fell on it." (1 Sam. 31:4) Then his armour-bearer also killed himself. Then, in the very first chapter of 2 Samuel, an Amalekite comes to David to boast that he has killed Saul. This can't be the armour-bearer since he died with Saul. So who killed Saul?

18 | What does Luke 16 mean? I don't get it. | Not Specified | Kanchi | 158679
I'm not sure if this is the type of question we're supposed to ask, but does anyone understand the parable of the shrewd manager? (Luke 16). This story makes no sense to me. I especially don't get verse 9.
