1 Baptized by Holy Spirit? Not Specified JustinToner 239377
Per Matthew 3:11, what does it mean to be baptized by the Holy Spirit?

Background: I am studying the passage of Matthew 3:5-12 and asked myself the following question (in regards to Matt 3:11-12): "John states that Jesus will baptize with the Holy Spirit and fire, and then explains how Jesus will separate the saved from the unsaved. Is the baptism by the Holy Spirit for the saved, and the baptism by fire for the unsaved? If so, is the baptism by the Holy Spirit before or after a person dies?"
2 Kingdom of Heaven - what is it? Not Specified JustinToner 239415
Matthew 3:2 and 4:17 both contain "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." (ESV)

What does "... the kingdom of heaven is at hand" mean? Is that simply a statement that the Messiah has arrived on earth?
3 How do I specify a verse? Not Specified JustinToner 239416
How do I indicate the verse for my questions? When I look at the list of unanswered questions, mine says "Not Specified" but I do not see a field in which I can specify a verse while asking a question.
4 Proverbs 10:22 Not Specified JustinToner 241272
My ESV translation gives this for Proverbs 10:22:
"The blessing of the Lord makes rich,
and he adds no sorrow with it.[a]"

For note a, it gives this:
"Or and toil adds nothing to it"

How did those two different translations come about? It seems to me the noted alternative indicates that working hard does add the riches of God's blessings.
5 How do I specify a verse? Bible general Archive 4 JustinToner 239420
How do I indicate the verse for my questions? When I look at the list of unanswered questions, mine says "Not Specified" but I do not see a field in which I can specify a verse while asking a question.

7 Proverbs 10:22 Prov 10:22 JustinToner 241274
My ESV translation gives this for Proverbs 10:22:
"The blessing of the Lord makes rich,
and he adds no sorrow with it.[a]"

For note a, it gives this:
"Or and toil adds nothing to it"

How did those two different translations come about? It seems to me the noted alternative indicates that working hard does add the riches of God's blessings.
8 How does sorrow and toil relate? Prov 10:22 JustinToner 241311
  Thank you Doc.
What about the word sorrow? Why say "...he adds no sorrow with it."?
9 Why is anatomy often in Proverbs? Prov 16:1 JustinToner 241346
What is meant by the use of the word "tongue" in this passage? What is the meaning behind the use of names of human anatomy (bones, lips, mouth, etc.) found throughout the book of Proverbs?
10 Baptized by Holy Spirit? Matt 3:11 JustinToner 239385
Per Matthew 3:11, what does it mean to be baptized by the Holy Spirit?

11 MAT. 18:8? Matt 18:8 JustinToner 240458
  I agree with you Jalek.

Another way of saying it: If anything tempts you to sin, and if you cannot consistently overcome that temptation, then do whatever you have to so that you do not have to face that temptation in the first place. For example, if you sin after seeing magazine covers on the news stand, then don't ever go to the news stand no matter what you may need/want from it.
