1 | WHERE DID MAGI'S COME FROM? | Bible general Archive 1 | Jethro | 29476
Where would anyone two thousand years ago except Jews even know of a coming Messiah. No other civilization was monotheistic except the Jews. They came from the north,Babylon was the largest Jewish center of that time. Would Daniel, a Jewish Prophet, give this information to pagans? |

2 | WHERE DID MAGI'S COME FROM? | Bible general Archive 1 | Jethro | 29447
The Bible tells us that witchcraft is punishable by death. Why would non-Jewish Magicians be looking for Jesus? Why would He let them in and accept gifts from them? I have studied Torah, Talmud, Zohar and the traditions and idioms of the First Century for 60 years. Sometimes it is what isn't written that tells the story.
3 | are we saved by grace alone? | Bible general Archive 1 | Jethro | 29445
Every man is saved by the Grace of God.We are then expected to do the things that a person of God is supposed to do. Try Matt 25: 31-46 if you don't know what to do. When Jesus says "I never knew you." He is referring to not knowing the person because he was not doing the things of God that are written in His Word. Waiting on the Lord, means to "wait" on the Lord like a waiter or servant. You "wait" on the Lord by doing the things that He has Commanded you to do.The word "righteous" is the Hebrew word Tzadok. It means to care about people the way God does. Not just in your head, but DOING IT. I pray this helps answer your question. Boruch HaShem! Jethro |

4 | Creation: Written as Prose or Poetry? | Gen 2:1 | Jethro | 29444
The first five books of the Bible are known as the Torah. When Jesus said not one jot nor one title shall be changed., He was speaking of Torah. If you take a Torah from Ethiopia and one from New York City, they are exactly the same. The Torah is filled with the Mysticism of God. It is not "just some" group of books, it IS the Word of God. I have studied Torah since a child and Genesis is the most exciting book in the Hebrew language. For instance, Bereshit, the Hebrew word for Genesis, means "from with His head, She created." It is very difficult within this forum to explain Hebraic word meanings it takes much study. But let me leave you with Gen 1:2-"And the earth "was" without form.." The word translated "was" is actually "became" (check Strong's #1961) and this changes the whole meaning of the Bible. I hope this helps a little. NEVER take the scriptures as anything but the Word of God. It may be mistranslated so be a workman that can rightly, correctly discern the Word of God. Boruch HaShem! (Praise the Name) |

5 | Why does Jacob wrestle with the angel? | Gen 32:24 | Jethro | 29441
Jacob was aways wrestling or contending with God spiritualy. This now manifests itself into the flesh. That is why when God tells Jacob that he has won, his reply is: "No, I will never let you go." and "What is your name?" God gives him two names, Israel when he is looking at things with spiritual eyes and Jacob, (Ya'acov in Hebrew means deciever) Jacob also asks the question, he wanted to know what attribute of God he was wrestling.

7 | WHERE DID MAGI'S COME FROM? | Bible general Archive 1 | Jethro | 17155
The "Magi" were not magicians. The KJV translates this wrong. Magi were the Cochim of the Hebrew Bible. They were the Princes of Israel that lived in Babylon. Before the written word, the Jews were given God's Word in the Heavens. The stars were their roadmap. The Cochim waited for the star to come so that they could follow it to the promised Messiah. If they were Magi they would have been killed by the Jews. Magi were not allowed to live as they were performing witchcraft.
