1 | Do you have a say in being adopted? | Not Specified | Jepson | 25733
This question has to do with adoption. In the natural world in which we live, a couple may adopt a child without the child's consent. Is this also true of an unbeliever into the Kingdom of God? The unbeliever have nothing to say about his adoption. God's adoption of persons to become "heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ" is because of his love for the sinner. John 1:12 states that adopted status belongs to all who receive Christ. The adoption status cannot happen until the person is first justified. Galatians 3:26 "For you are all sons of God throught faith in Christ Jesus." Now there is adoption and regeneration. Adoption results in a new relationship with Christ, while regeneration is a change of our moral nature. When we are justified, adopted, regenerated, we are to take on His character, nature, and Holiness, and act accordingly.

3 | What is a two-edge sword? | Heb 4:12 | Jepson | 24177
I think of the Bible as a two-edge sword this way. It is like a weapon that gives eternal life or eternal death. It has the power of life and death. Heb. 4:11-13 uses adjectives to describe the Word of God. Words such as living, powerful, piercing, discerner. The Word is living, meaning that the spoken word in Gen 1 became a living human as seen in John l:1 and John 1:14. Word, as seen in these verses is the Greek word Logos, meaning the living spoken word. That is God in the second person as Jesus. There is nothing hidden from God. He knows us as if we were sliced open by a sword, our spiritual destiny, that is "piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit". Prior to our birth He has known us. Then there is the physical aspect of our lives, that is both "joints and marrow". The activities and behavior we choose to be, or not to be, invloved in this life are known to Him as well. We can hide our thoughts from those around us, but God knows our deepest secrets. He is a "discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Nothing about us are hidden from Him. When we memorize the Word and evangelize, the Bible as a two-edge sword can be an effective weapon used in conquering enemies of God. |

4 | What is a two-edge sword? | Not Specified | Jepson | 24120
Heb. 4:11-13 Why is the Bible called a two-edge sword? In vs. 12 "For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edge sword...." This verse indicates that the Word of God is sharper than a two-edge sword, yet the Word of God is called a two-edge sword.

8 | Only 144,000 virgins in heaven? | Revelation | Jepson | 23256
Hi dude4Christ In looking back at your 144,000 virgin remarks, let me add that JW translations are erroneous and this refers to 144,000 angelic announcers of the Son of Man. I agree with Romans 10:13, everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved, but add that this means more than lip service, it includes trust among other things. Many people may call upon the Lord, but that does not mean they are saved. Look at Matt. 7:13,14 the narrow way, and at Matt 7:21 "Not everyone who says to me 'Lord, Lord"shall enter the kingdom of heaven..." Jepson |

9 | is jesus god | Bible general Archive 1 | Jepson | 23247
John 10:30 "I and the Father are one." John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word..." John l:14 "..the Word became flesh..." God (Elohim) who spoke the world in creation became the living God(Adona)or Jesus. In theology this is the hypostatical union. The two natures in Christ, His divine nature and His human nature. |

10 | Gen. l:26,27 | Gen 1:1 | Jepson | 23155
Hi Nolan! Blood types are classified into four types. They are A, B. O. AB. In the United States, O is the most common blood type, 45 percent of the population has this type blood. In Japan, if my memory serves me correctly, B is the most common or predominant type. Each race has a predominant blood type. Several years ago, I began to wonder how, or why four blood types came into the human race from Adam, a single human, and why just four. Each race could have its own blood type. Or, all races could have just a single blood type. We know that Noah and his three sons repopulated the earth, so apparently four blood types were already in existence after the flood. This involves genetics, antigens and other things, e.g. sin, and sex. The human blood is tainted with sin, even from Adam, and the pure blood of the second Adam cleanse us of sin. So we are forgiven and will enjoy our new life with Christ without blood, for blood brings the misery of disease, pain and death. Blood runs throughout our Bible and it is an interesting study. In studying and reading, thoughts run through my mind and I have ask many well known scholars and teachers this question of the four blood types, but have never received a clear satisfactory answer. Perhaps, there is none. Jepson
11 | Will baptism alone save us? | Rom 8:9 | Jepson | 22954
Why did Jesus die? Heb.9:22 "W/o the shedding of blood there is no remission..." Baptism will not and do not save. Baptism is only a symbolism, an outward sign of the inward conversion experience. The convert identifies with Christ's death. At baptism the believer identifies with Christ's death, burial and resurrection. When the believer is submerged, he symbolically dies to the "old Man" and is buried to become a new creation in Christ when he comes up out of the water. One can only be saved by the blood of Christ, alone, and nothing else. I may ask, why was Jesus baptised? Mark 1:10. Baptism is not for the purpose of receiving salvation, but to begin a ministry in service, and worship. Note to that the thief on the cross was saved w/o water baptism. |

12 | Gen. l:26,27 | Not Specified | Jepson | 22948
There are four basic human blood types. God created Adam, and Eve from Adam. How did the four blood types get into the human race from just one man? And why just four? Why not each race have its own blood type? One of the four blood types are predominant in each society and race. Why not each language group have its own? Why not just one blood type? |
