I see what you are getting at. I find there is more power and grace in the death and ressurection of our Lord than in any other testimony in the bible. Look at the resume of an apostle and contemplate grace and the power of God to sustain his people. 2Co 11:22 Are they Hebrews? I also. Are they Israelites? I also. Are they Abraham's seed? I also. 2Co 11:23 Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as beside myself.) I being beyond them: in labors, more abundantly; in stripes, beyond measure; in prisons, much more; in deaths, many times. 2Co 11:24 Five times I received forty stripes minus one from the Jews. 2Co 11:25 I was flogged three times; I was stoned once; I was shipwrecked three times; I have spent a night and a day in the deep. 2Co 11:26 I have been in travels often, in dangers of rivers, in dangers of robbers, in dangers from my race, in dangers from the nations, in dangers in the city, in dangers in a wilderness, in dangers in the sea, in dangers among false brothers, 2Co 11:27 in hardship and toil, often in watchings, in hunger and thirst, often in fastings, in cold and nakedness, 2Co 11:28 besides the things outside conspiring against me day by day, the care of all the assemblies. 2Co 11:29 Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is caused to stumble, and I do not burn? 2Co 11:30 If it is right to boast, I will boast of the things of my infirmity. 2Co 11:31 The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ knows, the One being blessed to the ages, that I am not lying. 2Co 11:32 In Damascus the ethnarch under Aretas the king guarded the city of the Damascenes, desiring to seize me. 2Co 11:33 And I was let down through a window through the wall in a basket and escaped their hands. And he goes on (Paul) to reitterate Jesus 2Co 12:9 And he said unto me, (My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.) Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Now read one of His final prayers to the Father. Joh 17:15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. Joh 17:16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Joh 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. Joh 17:18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. Joh 17:19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. Joh 17:20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; Joh 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. Joh 17:22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: Joh 17:23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. Joh 17:24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. Joh 17:25 O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. Joh 17:26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them. Keeping in mind now this very important point made in Philipeans Phi 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Phi 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: Phi 2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: Phi 2:15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; I will stop here. His power and his grace is beyond what we could ever measure in this realm. Suffice it in yourself to do this what Jesus did. Heb 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Heb 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Read Heb Chapters 11,12,13 your answer is in the book of Joshua enjoy it! Read all the books and make footnotes and topic studies you will love reading the books of the bible if you dont already. It is our daily bread. God bless you brother! |

3 | how many Isrealites died in Joshuas army | Numbers | JeffFl | 166934
Num 1:45 So were all those that were numbered of the children of Israel, by the house of their fathers, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war in Israel; Num 1:46 Even all they that were numbered were six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty. Num 1:47 But the Levites after the tribe of their fathers were not numbered among them. Num 14:38 But Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of the men that went to search the land, lived still. You must take into account that there has always been a spiritual warefare waged against Gods chosen. All but two died. Just getting from Egypt to the promised land. Why do you want to know? Who knows how many from the time Abraham first set out upon Gods order. It is more important that we learn how to live than to know how many died. There was only one death and one resurrection that is worthy of rememberance. If you truly need to know it can be found out. Do you realy need to know? |

4 | Gen 10 Do you think Nimrod was a good ma | Gen 10:32 | JeffFl | 162279
It is in the bible because it is either the permissable will of God or the blesed will of God. Either way the bible is the bible because God willed it to be so. Nimrod was a hunter which was a very valuable asset to any tribe in that time period esp. a Great hunter. He was the great grandson of Noah and he founded the city of Babylon. None of which tells me he was a good or bad man. I think it is more important to know who we are in Jesus. One thing for sure like you and I Nimrod was a sinner. Unlike you and I He was under the law. Where we are under the blood and grace and the new covenant.
5 | Ecclesiastes | Daniel | JeffFl | 161044
Consider if you would the ever popular "If any man be born again he is a new creation in Christ and realize that when you put it side by side with Ecclesiastes 1:10 for example it is not an example of confliction but one of confirmation. There is not one man or woman in the entire bible that has not blown it at one time or another. Redundant we are. What the word teaches us is that we are and always have been a work in progress. If we never try to achieve perfection we never will. We never will on our own in this phase of our existance anyway, but we should never stop trying. Its like the word itself have you ever had someone say "oh yeah I have read the bible I dont need to read it again." So say today you run to the store and the clerk gives you too much change for instance and you do the right thing and return it so their drawer does not come up short. If you say nothing when you do it what glory does it give God? If you return it and maybe give a smile and say its what Jesus would do. Its more than a fear of God its a respect and reverence that all good things are done because he ordained it. It is like praying. Why do we bother when in Isaiah 65:24 he tells us he has already answered our prayers before we have prayed them. If we don't get in line with the entire word if we don't look and listen for every chance to give him glory and praise if we don't give forgiveness we shall never receive it. It is only meaningless if we don't serve the Lord. We all will have meaningless days, but what if it is only a lesson which means it was not meaningless because it taught us something. The word tells us that 50 percent of christians will not make it so I tell you that if they are living for the Lord and keeping all his commandments and they don't get to heaven they were never born again. Jesus never truly lived in them, and they were here only to teach those who make it into The Kingdom of God a lesson. We are a chosen people God chooses not us. So everyday fear Him. Give God the respect and revere Him for he has given you every breath you take all the days of your life whether you have lived or believed in Him or not. Nothing is meaningless if you live for the Lord. Life is a gift from God himself do not do it the injustice of trying to understand all of its mysteries instead in all things praise the Lord and you will at least have lived happily.
6 | end time storms | Jer 30:23 | JeffFl | 158217
You can find scripture about end time signs throughout the bible. Be careful not to delve into the last book of the Word without A thirst of the Word though Read up on James first it is very short but to the point so to speak.I hope I have not misinterpreted your curiosity about the end times. The word of God is a new beginning not a sure sign of the end. Also read Jer 30:24 only God knows when enough is enough. |

7 | woman role in divorce | Gen 1:1 | JeffFl | 158201
It is clear to see the implied. Look closely at your heart though and listen for God's word. Sit and pray in that quiet place. Take some time and read Jeremiah 31:31-33 I think you'll find you have the answer. I pray you find peace.
8 | I don't know why you were looking for it | 1 Cor 1:26 | JeffFl | 158197
1 Corinthians 1:26 For [simply] consider your own call, brethren; not many [of you were considered to be] wise according to human estimates and standards, not many influential and powerful, not many of high and noble birth. 27 [No] for God selected (deliberately chose) what in the world is foolish to put the wise to shame, and what the world calls weak to put the strong to shame 28 And God also selected (deliberately chose) what in the world is lowborn and insignificant and branded and treated with contempt, even the things that are nothing, that He might depose and bring to nothing the things that are, 29 So that no mortal man should [have pretense for glorying and] boast in the presence of God. |

9 | ... | 1 Cor 1:1 | JeffFl | 158193
Yes! When I was a very young child no more than 5 or 6 my grandmother caressed the side of my head looking at me with such loving eyes. I remember a chilling wonderful energy flowed through every cell in my little body. At that age I knew nothing about what it was I only knew it was good to be me right then and there. My grandmother was a very devout Catholic who attended church daily. I can only guess but I think she was asking God to watch over me all the days of my life. She introduced me to the Holy Spirit that is God on that day. It was many many years before I was fortunate enough to be filled with the Holy Spirit again. Now I hope and pray that my children feel the love of God when I caress there heads. If we are not here to pass that kind of love on from one generation to the next then we exist for no good reason whatsoever. I have found that by adhering to the statutes of the written word of God. I am never offended. When I wake in the morning it is with joy. When I go to sleep at night it is in peace with thankfulness. You ask if so then why? I can tell you and with much conviction it is because I knocked and he chose to answer. You see we dont choose him he chooses us. I have seen every wicked sin there is forgiven and forgotten. the number of people I know who share the kind of serenity I enjoy is ever growing. |
