1 | Repentance is Sorry or Walk From Sin? | Matt 3:8 | Jayell | 206769
Read 2 Cor 7:8-11, I do not believe that it's simply saying "sorry" and moving on. Repentance is to stop a current direction to turn around and face God. This can only be accomplished by His grace ( 2 Tim 2:25 ) He alone can lead us from darkness to Light ( Rom 2:4 ). "Sorry" will never cut it, that's the worlds apology or better yet; Excuse for sin. 3 | Abel,s sacrifice acceptable, Cain's not? | Genesis | Jayell | 192910
To give an answer in-short it would be that Abel had faith in God and Cain did not. The bible tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God. I don't believe that is was the offerings themselves but the offerers. Before the tabernacle was built God told Moses He only wanted those with willing hearts to give. Paul echoes that in Corinthians when he says,"Give according to what you have purposed in your heart." It would not have made any difference to God what Cain had offered because He knew Cain's heart. Sorry I didn't give scripture. Jayell |

You have accused me of evil doing without a cause and I have ask God to forgive me for offending you. I ask that you forgive me as well but I pray that you will study more on this subject. I did not mean to come across to you in a harsh way. Our unity is very important to me and crucial to the fallen world. One of my closest friends and brother-in-Christ have and still disagree on this subject. And will always love him. Our fellowship is not worth losing at any cost. Forgive me Jayell |

Once again you should not add anything into scripture, 1 Peter 3:18 does not say "once for all" it says "once for sin." I guess in order to make your case you needed the ALL. You must understand that if Jesus had died for the sins of everyone then that would guarantee everyone heaven, there would be no need for hell since the wages of sin had been paid (Romans 6:23). If Christ died for the sins of Joe (who is in hell) then that would make God a liar if Joe still had to die for his own sins. The K.J.V. and N.K.J.V. both translate 2 Peter 3:9 to say "Longsuffering toward us" and the US or You is referring to saved . "Not willing that any should parish" the "any" must refer to those whom the Lord has chosen and will call to complete the redeemed. i.e., the "us." Since the whole passage is about God's destroying the wicked, His patience is not so He can save all of them, but so that He can receive all His own. He can't be waiting for everyone to be saved, since the emphasis is that He will destroy the world and the ungodly. Those who do perish and go to hell, go because they are depraved and worthy only of hell and have rejected the only remedy. Jesus Christ, not because they were created for hell and predetermined to go there. The path to damnation is the path of a non-repentant heart, it is the path of one who rejects the person and provision of Jesus Christ and holds on to sin (cf. Is.55:1; Jer.13:17; Ezek.18:32; Matt.11:28; 13:37; Luke 13:3; John 3:16; 8:21,24; 1 Tim.2:3,4; Rev.22:17). "all should come to repentance." "All" (cf. "us," "any") must refer to all who are God's people who will come to Christ to make up the full number of the people of God. The reason for the delay in Christ's coming and the attendant judgments is not because He is slow to keep His promise, or because He wants to judge more of the wicked, or because He is important in the face of wickedness. He delays His coming because He is patient and desires the time for His people to repent.

It is good that you changed from "for everyone" to "available to everyone." That is the correct wording. The scripture you gave does say "IF" The truth is Christ did not die for everyone, if He did everyone would go to heaven.

We certainly pray for the lost but Paul is saying not to have fellowship with them, after all what does light have to do with darkness or righteousness with unrighteousness?(2 Cor 6:14) A hypocrite is a person who says one thing but continues to do another but that's not Paul's focus. Some of them could have been saved but it is our responsibility to separate ourselves (the local church) from sin (5:9-11) And God will the ultimate Judge of man's salvation (5:13a). I truly believe that God has predestined men and women to be saved, so that means those who refuse are not chosen. If God doesn't prepare our hearts to respond we never will (Acts 13:48). Jayell |

12 | Is this scripture? | Bible general Archive 3 | Jayell | 175767
That is certainly not a Christian mindset, Jesus faced death on the cross for the joy set before Him (Heb 12:2). That should be our desire for Him. Paul wrote, "For me to live is Christ and to die is gain" (Phil 1:21). It's not about making us stronger, but for us to be more and more like Christ (2 cor 12:9). Though man may kill this body he can never kill the soul (Matt 10:28), he only hastens me to see the Lord as He is. We are confident, I say and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord (2 Cor 5:8). Jayell |

13 | WHO SENT PRIESTS, LEVITES FROM JERUSALE | John 1:19 | Jayell | 175725
Most likely the Sanhedrin, which was the highest ruling body and court of justice among the Jews. Sanhedrin doesn't appear in scripture, instead we have the words assembly or council (John 11:47;Luke 22:66;Acts 4:15). It was made up of 71 members,(Priests,Elders,Scribes,Pharisees,Sadducees etc.) The Jews trace the origin of this to Numbers 11:16.
14 | The serpents curse | Gen 3:15 | Jayell | 175405
Jesus once said, "That which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit" (John 3:6). When God spoke in Gen 3:15 He was speaking of Christ (John 1:14) as the physical offspring of Eve, yet Himself God who is Spirit (John 4:24). That offspring includes all believers in Jesus Christ; though we are flesh, we are children of God (Rom 8:14-17). The seed of Satan is basically the same, even thoough he is a spirit he has human seed. That's clear from John 8:44 where Jesus calls the unbelievers at hand; Children of Satan. Genesis 3:15 divides into 2 catagories: BELIEVERS AND UNBELIEVERS. One is either a child of the Most High God or a child of the Most Low Satan. The Truth in Love JAYELL |

15 | wipe your feet of their existance | Luke 10:10 | Jayell | 175375
If you are truly seeking the truth then the "Wiping off of the feet" doesn't directly apply to you. That was done to when a person out -right rejected the message given. When the Jews in Corinth opposed and blasphemed,Paul simply shook his garment (Acts 18:6). It was a jesture that the truth was there, but opposed. As Jesus said "It will be used as a witness against them" in the DAY of JUDGEMENT! I am thankful for you seeking, but the fact remains: Jesus said, "He that is not with me is against me" (Matt 12:30). There is no middle ground, if you were to die today all the truth that you've heard till now, but refused will testify against you. That's why the bible says, "Today if you will hear his voice, harden not your heart (Hebrews 3:7,8). I do not believe that you are beyond help, because God never promised to help anyone. He promised to SAVE those who believe in Jesus Christ. But I will say this: "He that shall blaspheme against the Holy Spirit hath never forgiveness, but is in Danger of eternal damnation (Mark 3:29). I believe that a person can reject so much truth that they will come to a point where they can no longer accept any truth. (Heb 6:4-6; 2 Peter 2:20,21; Luke 11:24-26) That the Unpardonable Sin. My prayer for you is to embrace the ministry of the Holy Spirit, as He reveals the truths concerning Christ, Sin, Salvation etc. As God Said at the beginning, "My Spirit shall not always strive with man." 16 | Cause of anger in children? | Jer 17:9 | Jayell | 174403
For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners (Romans 5:19a). That deep seeded anger is called SIN and we all recieved it from our birth parents and they recieved it from theirs (all the way back to Adam). "Wherefore, as by one man (Adam) sin ented into the world and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned" (Romans 5:12). Every child has to be taught to do good, the evil is already in us. I have heard it said "The selfishness, greed, anger etc. a baby displays would be murderous if he wasn't so helpless!" The bible says "By nature we are children of wrath" (Ephesians 2:3)cf Romans 7:20. Sin is the cause but thank God that we can be BORN AGAIN and that is by through faith in Jesus Christ. That's a decision every child must make on his own. SIN CAN'T WIN. (1 CORINTHIANS 15:54-57) THE TRUTH JAYELL |

17 | Pastor preaches about men body parts! | Luke 22:26 | Jayell | 172649
I believe that you should pray for him, because it seems that he's dealing with a personal issue. Nevertheless Satan has surely gotten a foothold in the man's life. Paul wrote much about a REAL MAN, "Husbands love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church and GAVE HIMSELF for it, so ought men to love their wives as THEIR OWN BODIES. He that loves his wife loves himself, for no man ever hated his own flesh; BUT NOURISHES and CHERISHES it, just AS THE LORD does the church (Eph 5:25,28,29). Now, if a man's love wills him to give his own life for his wife, than surely washing dishes, changing diapers, holding his wife etc. should easily flow from that Love through that man. He might as well call God himself a wimp, because He said He would wipe Jerusalum as a man wipes a dish (2 Kings 21:13). Since Satan couldn't get Christ to sin against God, he tries to get man to sin against Christ. If I were to treat my wife that way, than what I've done is opened a door of my home to Satan. But I am not ignorant of his devises (2 Cor 2:11). This is the very reason we need discernment in the church, we should not believe every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God (1 John4:1). Your church should deal with this NOW! The next 6 weeks could effect eternity for many. THE TRUTH IN LOVE JAYELL |

18 | Acts 2:2 | 1 Cor 14:6 | Jayell | 172394
There was much division at Corinth, some followed Paul or Apollos or Peter and some Jesus (1 Cor 1:12). And there stands the the focus of Paul, there was division concerning leaders, marriage (Ch.7),eating foods (Ch.8), the Lord's supper (Ch. 10,11) and even as today, spiritual gifts. Just as the Corinthians we are still ignorant of Paul's purpose. "There are diversities, operations, differences of administrations." (12:4,5,6) But Paul ends each by saying, "The same Spirit, the same Lord and same God which worketh all in all. Why would Paul tell them not to be ignorant concerning spiritual gifts? (12:1) The reason for so much attention on tongues is due to their previous lifestyle (12:2). which involved supposed supernatural interaction with a diety, induced through hypnotic chants. Apperantly some church members were repeating this during service. Paul makes that clear from (14:6-11), Satan has always been a master counterfeitor, being an angel tongues came easy to him (13:1). But Paul knew of something that Satan or his angels couldn't touch: THRUTH AND LOVE. Since the the thruth is not in him (John 8:44)cf. 1 Cor 12:3. And Love because he who loves follows Christ (8:3,13:13) Paul didn't focus an any gift in particular, his letter is about Love and Unity. If we let the Love of God rule in our hearts; then and only then will we be in ONE mind and ONE accord (Eph 3:17-21). When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: BUT when I became a man, I put away childish things (1 Cor 13:11). Let us all listen to Paul and follow after Love and have a desire for gifts and remember: THAT GOD GIVES ACCORDING TO HIS WILL! (1 COR 12:11) |

19 | Acts 2:2 | 1 Cor 14:6 | Jayell | 172316
I have heard debates that support and do-away with tongues in modern day. Although I have an opinion on this I would rather not get in to that right now. One thing that we know for sure is tongues were a sign for the unbeliever (1 Cor 14:22) and needed interpretation (14:5,13). I'm unclear on your reasons for wanting tongues, but I would like to offer some advise. Since by the Holy Spirit we have the mind of Christ (1 Cor 2:16) we should be proclaiming the mind and counsel of God. Which is what Paul means by prophecy (14:1) this for the building up of the Body of Christ (14:3,4). I want to submit to you when, you speak the truth to an unbeliever, whether a neighbor or co-worker: YOU ARE USING A TONGUE THAT NEEDS NO INTERPRETATION. The Truth in Love JAYELL |

20 | Saved by belief or belief and baptism? | NT general Archive 1 | Jayell | 166751
In no way am I throwing out baptism, it's very important in our Christian lives. You should of scrolled up and read some of my responses before you jump to conclusions. Let,s take the whole bible, not just a few scriptures. Read Acts 3:19; were is baptism? "What must I do to be saved?" And they (Paul and Silas) said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved, and thy house" (Acts 16:29-34). And then they were baptized; believe it or not baptism is for believers (Christians). Although they are closely related, salvation comes first. It,s foolish to even think this to be a part of salvation. O.K. let,s take a different approach; if a Christian never took communion would he be in trouble? Christ did say "Do this in rememberance of me" Luke 22:19. The truth is communion, baptism are things that we do out of obedience. Nothing to do with salvation, that is by faith through grace alone. Lion, think about the process of baptism for a moment.......you are the one doing the WORK. "And it's not of yourself: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast" (Eph. 2:8,9).
