1 | Baptism in order to be saved? | Not Specified | JWeaver | 181429
My question is this, what if one repents and accepts Jesus Christ as Lord and savior but cannot get baptized before death,is he saved? Before you answer, remember that peter witnessed a household that received the Holy Ghost but were not yet baptized. this adds a second question, can you receive the Holy Ghost and not be saved?(see acts 10:44-48) Also what about those that cannot comprehend? ( Children, mental ill, etc.) The reason for my question is many read into the statement"Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned" (mark 16:16)that you must be baptized to be saved. In my opinion,"believes" includes Accepting Christ and repenting. you are then saved and the Holy Spirit enters to help guide you in your new birth you will then proceed to be Baptized into Christs Church. This would be one continuous action if possible. I would like opinions and reasons for the opinion. Thanks. |

3 | being baptised and not a member | Rom 6:3 | JWeaver | 180536
If your not a member of Christ's church,Why be baptized? Maybe you are thinking denomenation. Often denomenations will not accept you unless you are baptized in their church. They are claiming that their church is the only church. The problem here is Christ's Church is not necessarly any denomination. If you are already Baptized into Christ church you need no denominational approval.

5 | Is this | Rom 6:3 | JWeaver | 180532
They were on the road. they had to walk down to the water and come up from the water. While in the water he could have been immersed of simply poured water over his head. I do agree that the word means immersed but literal? |

6 | Are you studying the Bible? | Not Specified | JWeaver | 179446
The laws of the sabbath were done away with. We were unable to keep them anyway. I agree with most that God does not change, therefore the sabbath is still a day to remember and the other 9 commandments are still his law. We could not keep them, therefore he offered us Grace through faith in Jesus Christ. The early Christians began to worship on the first day of the week in rememberance of Jesus.(the first day was the weekly anniversary of his resurrection.) My question is,Why do Christians keep disagreeing and not becoming one body as Jesus Requested? We are human and can have different opinions but many are not doing this in love. There are a lot of things Jesus did not direct us in but he gave us what we needed and he did give the keys to Heaven and earth to the apostles. We should be following their example should we not? I have studied under several different denominations and find that we often follow the teachings of different men and not the teachings of Jesus and His apostles. This does bother me. Remember we were warned that others would twist things and convince us to do other then what the Lord taught us. I hope all will keep reading and studying the word and not accept what you hear as the Gospel. I know that what I have done here is not necessarly the intent of this forum but if I open anyones eyes to the Gospel I will have done more then I could hope for. Love you guys and pray that we all will be with Christ for eternity. |

9 | Ten Commandments vs. Galatians | Ex 20:1 | JWeaver | 176353
BradK, I think we're in agreement. All I questioned was your statement(except the sabbath). The ten commandments were not changed. Gods law remaines intact. we are saved by Grace through Christ. We are no longer under moses' law, an eye for an eye etc. God will never change. He is the same today as he was thousands of years ago. peace in Christ,Brother P.S. I have no argument. |

10 | Good inexpensive Christian Colleges? | Not Specified | JWeaver | 176345
My question pertains to the Bible Colleges and Universities for on line studies. I'm aware that no one answer is perfect but I'm looking to an inexpensive Bible college or university to obtain a Bachlors degree. I have received a Certificate and wish to continue, but expense is a major concern. My question is three fold. Are they truly Christian authorized instructors? Are they acceptable in the Christian world? What is the least expensive. I am retired but want to prepare myself to work for the Lord should he call me. I know the Holy spirit will lead me when he's ready, but I feel that by preperation I can be better equiped if and when he gives me the nudge. I thank all who may give me their opinion |

12 | Ten Commandments vs. Galatians | Ex 20:1 | JWeaver | 176343
I have to disagree with BradK. He stated "except Sabbath-keeping" in his explanation. God does not change. He offers us Grace through acceptance of his only son Jesus Christ. His laws are still his laws. Man cannot keep his laws because of sin. He wrote the ten commandments twice therefore he made no mistake when he said remember the sabboth in exodus 20 or wrote them in exodus 31:18 and rewrote them in exodus 34:12(this is also in deuteronomy). We only know that the sabbath day was the seventh day. man made and changed the calendar days over the years therefore we can only guess at the orginal seventh day. We may guess and observe a day once a week. but we must always remember that every day is Gods day and everything in it belongs to Him. If we guess wrong but continue to worship him in our hearts through Christ, Christ will present us to Him without sin. If you love God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself, and keep your faith, you, through Christ, will be keeping the ten commandments. Trust(keep faith in) the Holy Spirit to keep you on the right path. |

13 | Pre-marital Sex and Church Leadership | Colossians | JWeaver | 174331
This is not totally a Biblical answer but premarital sex is as any other sin we all have committed. If we have confessed our sins to the Lord and turned our lives around,We have been reborn. We are a different person and with experience, education and Gods blessing we should be able to hold any possition within the church. The Bible gives guidelines but does not state you could not be a former sinner.(We all are). I will add that you cannot be an active sinner like the elected Homosexual in a certain Church. Bishop???? See Colossians 2:13 |

14 | What day is the Sabbath? | Not Specified | JWeaver | 172942
Sabbath day? The ten commandments request we remember the Sabbath but there seems to be a question on which day it is. Prior to the Romans establishing a 7 day week their were different length to the No. of weeks. We know God rested on the seventh day and this was called the Sabbath. The Romans established the first day as Sunday. Does a man made rule dictate the day God called the Sabbath? Can man change the Sabbath? I think not. My question is Three Fold, What day is the Sabbath,Do we have Bible scripture to prove it,(I find none)Isn't everyday Gods day? Iknow that the Jewish people used saturday, and there is no place I'm aware of that Christ questioned it. |

16 | Which day is number seven? | Ex 20:10 | JWeaver | 164590
I guess I'm not clear. I guess the easiest is to ask which is the sabbath, saturday or sunday. which is the 7th day? Do we have any evidence that dates back to the 400 B. C. era naming the other days of the week? Is the first day of the week Sun, Mon, Tues. or some other day or maybe was another name. Where to I find this?
17 | Which day is number seven? | Ex 20:10 | JWeaver | 164580
I think that most do use the same calendar now. not in the past. Mon. was the first day of the week in Russia before 1940. Others did this also. Monday was first,Tuesday 2nd. and so forth. The sabbath was the seventh,no question, at least Biblical. I guess my question is which day was actually the first. As far as I can determine we don,t know which day was the first orginally. Yes, our calendar now shows Sunday as the first day. Can you find any History as to what days were used in the Biblical times (400 B.C.). |
||||||
18 | Which day is number seven? | Ex 20:10 | JWeaver | 164573
Many countries have monday as the first day. History shows no record of exactly which day is the first or seventh. We do know that the seventh day is the Biblical last day. We don't know which is the first? Man named the days but we can only guess at the beginning and ending. I would love to hear and comments. |
