1 | Questions on Tongues | 1 Corinthians | JLY | 114443
There isn't a Scripture like that and well you know it. But read Acts 2:4 "All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues." And any where else where people are filled with the Holy Spirit they begin to speak in tongues. If you don't believe in tongues The chances are that you are not filled with the Holy Spirit.Remember I said, the chances are. But the Spirit of God would tell you if you had HIM living in you that tongues are spoke in the church today. I have never heard you speak at any time about JESUS. Do you believe in JESUS? God bless you.

Read for yourself your answer right here towards me. I discern who you are by your answer, and it is complete contempt towards me because I want what the Spirit of God wants, you don't know the Spirit for if you had the Baptism of the Spirit then you would be talking in tongues. I thought that this was a place where people talked about JESUS, but I have never heard that name from you and if you were a Christian I would have heard that name in at least one of the correspondences with you. There has not been one blessing from you and a Christian could do nothing else but bless me. And this is to stupid, you sit arround like the Greeks discussing philosophy in the times of Paul, you are not interested in Jesus Christ, you are interested in your own self ego and your puffed up knowledge. You came at me with all the Subtlety that the serpent used in the garden with Eve. If you were a true Christian you would believe that tongues are spoken in the church today. May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you and open your eyes. God bless good bye my friend.
3 | Do you sing in tongues together? | 1 Corinthians | JLY | 114436
How can one tell who are dogs and hogs. Thats easy, by their fruit. You judge in arogance and ignorance, and with this huge log in your eye. You can't see me nor know me for you are to puffed up with what little knowledge that you have repent of your wickedness and turn to the Lord who loves you deeply. Turn to Jesus and find they way into the kingdom of God. I don't know you and I love you, may the Lord bless you. |

4 | Questions on Tongues | 1 Corinthians | JLY | 114435
I do apoligise I got Isaiah quotation wrong. The Lord Jesus bless you. see I am not against nor past learning. But when you worship in a church that has so much love its hard to take the judgement of those who are not wanting to move on in Christ. Out of a three hour service about ten minutes people sing and worship in tongues and there is no more beautiful a sound except the last trumpet maybe. When you really go out for God He really speaks to you. If you have never heard the voice of God you are missing so much. He is only a prayer away.
5 | Questions on Tongues | 1 Corinthians | JLY | 114434
You attack me and you don't know me. I was in the Baptist Church in England here, and people here didn't believe in tongues being spoken. I was there for two years and the second year I kept asking God is this it for the rest of my life, stand up sit down, stand up sing a song sit down and listen to some person waffeling on about a Jesus that he never really knew. Isn't it funny that you are completely honist with a religious person who then starts quoting numbers about how many people belong in his religeous order. No I can't show you a Scripyure for what you asked:"Please show me in Scripture where it says conclusively and unambiguously that those who do not engage in ecstatic babbling are too blind to accept the truth" but I can't show you and have shown you that when you are baptised in the Holy Spirit 99 per cent of the time you are given the gift of tongues. And without the baptism of the Holy Spirit it is impossible to walk the Christian walk. The Baptists don't tell you this, I was never told that God could live inside of me. And I have been in your country and I love it. I was at Pensecola for a week and it was great and I didn't want to come back here. May the Lord Jesus bless you and may He baptise you in His Holy Spirit.
6 | Do you sing in tongues together? | 1 Corinthians | JLY | 114433
That is an easy one to answer. Our fellowship is noted for there love. Every visitor that we have had have always said what love there is in this place. We can take no glory in that, God has given us that gift of love. We also never Compromise the Gospel, we never water it down, we are very very straight with the Word of God. JLY means, JESUS Loves you. And I know that I love you, you attack me for being truthful and honist. 2000 years ago there was another man more truthful and honist and you put Him on the cross.
7 | Questions on Tongues | 1 Corinthians | JLY | 114423
First of all, I get the feeling that this is all new to you people speaking in tongues. Prophecy from Isaiah says this: Isa 28:11 “No, but with broken talk, and with a strange tongue, he will give his word to this people.” Tongues is just that, another language that’s given by God. Here at Pentecost tongues is given to the disciples after the baptism of the Holy Spirit. It is generally a sign that someone has been baptised in the Holy Spirit when they begin to speak in tongues, but not always. You will know them by their fruit Jesus said, not by spiritual gifts. So the meaning of tongues in Acts 2:4 is simply a gift from the Holy Spirit, an other language to speak to God with, and its very helpful in every day prayer. And all of them were speaking in tongues together. How to I get that, verse 6 in Acts 2, “When they heard this sound………” One person talking doesn’t really cause that much of a noise but many talking together does and it attracted attention, and saved the lives of 3000 people that day. What’s the meaning of tongues as I have described it. The meaning is the same as in Acts 10:46: “And they were talking in tongues, and giving glory to God.” They were talking in tongues, not one person but they were all talking in tongues. It is not a command by the pastor of our church that we speak in tongues but as we are led by the Spirit. We sing praise and worship songs, sometimes for an hour or more and we get to a place where the Spirit of God just takes over and we begin to sing in tongues. Its most Sundays but there may be more people singing in tongues one week than there is the following week if you see what I mean. It is the most beautiful sound you could hear people singing praises to the Lord in tongues. It is used in giving glory to God. Hebrew’s 1:2 “Has” is the word here. God has spoken through Jesus, but do you think that is it. That God has stopped speaking to His people, what every happen to. I feel sorry for you if you have never heard the voice of God. The people in our fellowship who bring a prophetic word are either the prophets we have or one who is gifted with a prophetic word from the Lord. Not everyone has this gift. Jesus said this, Mar 16:17 “And miraculous signs will follow to those believing these things: in My name they will cast out demons; they will speak new tongues;” Mat 10:19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what you shall speak; for it shall be given you in that same hour what you shall speak. Proof of God speaking to His people. Do you think that you are left alone to walk out our salvation, is not the Holy Spirit given to help you. And here in the book of Acts: Act 19:6 And as Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied. Act 19:7 And all of the men were about twelve. And “they” spoke in tongues and “prophesied”. It doesn’t say, that they were twelve prophets but it does say that “they “ prophesied. It doesn’t matter what I say for you are to blind to accept the truth. So bless you. As I said to the other lad, whoever he is, out of a three hour service every Sunday tongues is sand or spoken for about ten minutes. The Corinthians were being told of by Paul for abusing tongues, we don’t. We move in all of the spiritual gifts, does your church.God bless you Hank, my namess John. |

8 | Do you sing in tongues together? | 1 Corinthians | JLY | 114422
Mat 7:1 Judge not, that you may not be judged. Mat 7:2 For with whatever judgment you judge, you shall be judged; and with whatever measure you measure out, it shall be measured to you again. You judge to quickly. Our meeting starts at 10am til 1pm and in that time there is about 10 minutes of tongues. We are more concerned with praising and worshipping Jesus and hearing the message that the pastor has. That's the trouble with religeous people like you you are so jealous of other churches going all out for Jesus. When was that last time that you stood out in the middle of a town and and spoke to people about JESUS CHRIST. How concerned are you about the lost? How concerned are you about holiness? Bless you, I hope the Lord opens your eyes to the truth. |

9 | Do you sing in tongues together? | 1 Corinthians | JLY | 114420
You judge something that you know nothing about. The church starts at 10am and finishes at 1pm. Three hours. Of that time tongues is used for about ten minutes, that violates nothing but honours God. The trouble with religeous people like you is that you do not know how to honour God. You love you self, just like the Pharisees. You are so quick to judge. The Corinthians were being told off by Paul, in three hours of service they probably spent half that time in tongues. You say you want the higher spiritual gifts how can you get them with so much judgement and jealousy. You read the Scripture but you don't understand them, try sitting down and listening to God instead of trying to show how cleaver you are. God bless you. |

10 | Do you sing in tongues together? | 1 Corinthians | JLY | 114349
Acts 10:46 was nothing to do with the Jews it was Peter visiting some Gentiles. And you notice that when he went in they were "All" talking in tongues. And as it not being a church setting, Jesus said, "On this rock I will build MY church." Where Peter was, there was the rock of the church. And churches started with house meetings then when the grew the moved into bigger buildings. At Pentecost there was a church meeting, it says, Acts 2:1"They were all together in one place." The church is the people not the building. It wouldn't matter if it was a garden shed when they were all together there was the church. And when they were baptised in the Holy Spirit they "ALL" began to speak in tongues."
11 | Do you sing in tongues together? | 1 Corinthians | JLY | 114333
You are getting this all wrong, I am sorry, its maybe me that,s caused the confusion. The singing is not prophecy, its singing praise to God in tongues. Let me ask you a question, can you speak in tongues? |

12 | Do you sing in tongues together? | 1 Corinthians | JLY | 114331
One starts of singing in tongues, and you are not forced to join in, you don't really need to sing in tongues but its like the Spirit leads you to do so you just can't stay quiet. Its not the pastor or an elder saying, "Right we are going to sing in tongues now." It just happens. And it generally happens when we have been singing songs in English, songs of praise and worship to Jesus. You have to be there to know what it is really like, and we are not the only church to do it. Read the Scriptures man, "All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues." All of them collectively began to speak in tongues. Act 10:46 And they were talking in tongues, and giving glory to God." again "All of them together." There is nothing wrong with a church glorifying God in tongues. When Prophesying it comes from one person in tongues, but there is a time when everyone just falls silent because the peace of the Lord has filled the hall and the Spirit of God is moving and God speaks. I will not be condemned over this (Rom. 8:1) we as a church are doing no wrong. We have a very loving and Spirit filled pastor who is very close to God. And we have a church who moves in all the spiritual gifts of the Lord, and the love of Jesus is in this place. Its the one thing that visitors notice and that is the love of God that is in this church. |

13 | Has speaking in tongues ceased? | 1 Corinthians | JLY | 114310
No, you are wrong my friend. When we sing in tongues its in worship of God. God give that gift of tongues to be used. Now every Sunday God talks to us through one person (not the same person though each Sunday it might be a different person) this person will speak in tongues and there is an interpretation of this. No one else speaks while that person is speaking. Its one person speaking in tongues and another giving an interpretation of it. Therefor it is Scripturely right. No church is the perfect church, and no church gets it spot on. You are judging friend and you don't know us or anything about us. We are not a cult we are a God fearing God loving fellowship. Bless you.
14 | Has speaking in tongues ceased? | 1 Corinthians | JLY | 114307
I worship in a church that nearly everyone speaks in tongues. I myself speak in tongues and I use it at times when I don't know what to say in prayer, so I pray in tongues. We sing in tongues most Sunday's only for a short time when the Spirit is on us. And in prayer meetings we speak in tongues also but not all at once, and not like it was some sort of religeous act. But when you speak in tongues you talk of secret things: 1Co 14:2 For he who makes use of tongues is not talking to men but to God; because no one has the sense of what he is saying; but in the Spirit he is talking of secret things. |

15 | Divorce? | Amos 1:1 | JLY | 114305
Mat 19:9 I tell you that whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and he who marries her when she is divorced commits adultery." Except for sexual immorality: read this verse. Divorce is allowed for a case of adultry but God doesn't really like it. A man should stick with the one partner this is how it was supposed to be, but He wil allow divorce for sexual immorality. |
||||||
16 | Divorce? | Amos 1:1 | JLY | 114299
Divorce must be accepted by God for Jesus said Mat 5:31 "It was also said, 'Whoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorce,' Mat 5:32 but I tell you that whoever puts away his wife, except for the cause of sexual immorality, makes her an adulteress; and whoever marries her when she is put away commits adultery." So God must accept it for He says so. But God also hates divorce Mal.2:16 and I know that it may be a real shock of one or the other parties in a marriage commiting adultry but surely if you really love that person then forgiveness is much better. Look at Hosea, God told him to take an adultress wife and she kept leaving him for other men but he kept going after her and bringing her back. What love that man had and what mercy he gave. And what mercy God gives us surely we must be people of mercy and forgive also the sins against us. But in saying that, God gives us that only way out of a marriage if one of the partners has commited adultry. And you could look at it like this. How many times have you been unfaithful to God, and do you not expect mercy from Him; can you not give mercy and save a marrige. Scripture is from the Hebrew Names Version |
