A friend of mine found this church and was drawn to it and asked me for my opinion. Looking up the website under core believes I found the following that did not sit right and I was wondering if anyone feels the same as I. It stated "1. We believe in one God.. We believe in the Father, Son and Holy Ghost not as persons, but as manifestations of the one true God. (Deut. 6:4; John 1:1-3; John 20:27; Col 2:9; Col 1:15;)" Let me know what your thoughts are.

I read the first sentence and did not read the rest. Find another fight I am through!
7 | Crusifixtion a sacrafice? John 3:16 | Bible general Archive 4 | Integrity Electric | 223622
You are taking things out of context. I do side with you the the Bible is infallible but obviously you have more time than I to look up and site scripture. If you think that I was saying that the death of Christ did not provide atonement I would invite you to re-read what I had said, and you are way off by asserting that I am trying to "debunk" an orthodox view. I was just inviting you to think outside the box not outside of Gods word. Read on the comment by CDBJ He has showed a very good point!!! I think we have exhausted this thread and I look foreword to future questions and comments. By his word, David |

Great comment... I agree. The Bible I believe is a little vague on what exactly the meaning of "It is finished" but I do believe your interpretation as being true. Thank you and God Bless David |

Wow, did I say all of that. Let me just say this. I believe that Christ sufferings were more than physical but spiritual as well. Agree or disagree I do not think that yours or my salvation is in question. I do not think that I have to point to scripture to prove this although I could. Remember our fight is not temporal but spiritual. I like to think under this mindset. One day we will see as we are seen and clearly and all mysteries will be taken away. Peace and Grace, David |

10 | Crusifixtion a sacrafice? John 3:16 | Bible general Archive 4 | Integrity Electric | 223587
Lots of questions so little time. The passage you quoted is exactly the passage that I am refereeing to. Thrown into hell would be separation God and more. Where did Jesus spend the three days during his death. The physical death and resurrection of a physical being? NO. You are in error when you state that why have you forsaken me is not a separation. This is the whole reason for the atonement. God can not look at sin. Our sin of Christ taking on our sin. Be not concerned about my salvation. It is secure. Regardless if you recognize that there was a spiritual side to Christ suffering or not or if that was more significant does not place someones salvation at risk. I will share some scriptures later but I have to go. Bless you Brother, David |

Very good answer and I am with you. But did not it say in scripture "My God My God why have you forsaken me". Spiritual Death, In my mind is the absence from God. Was the Son of God separated from the Father? Would this not be more of a sacrifice than a physical death? Does not the Bible talk of two deaths. Did not Jesus say that a spiritual death was worse? I am not trying to see beyond scripture. There is plenty of scripture to back up what I am suggesting. No doubt this is for the adult in Christ and I am not trying to throw confusing heresies in to the pot. In His Name, Integrity |

As far as torture goes physical torture is not the torture the bible speaks of. Let me give a hint as to what I believe the answer is. And I believe you are coming closer with Christ perfect state. What is spiritual death and has Christ ever suffered spiritual death? |

Hey Brad, Thanks for the answer. I know you have a good heart and I meant no disrespect. Trying to compare myself with Christ is not a good comparison. I personally do not fear death and have physically (clinically) died 4 times. But that is just me. Christ was not in a void for three days during the time of his death and we will not be in a void at our death. You sound a little irritated with this question. You are getting close when you talk about Christ taking on our sins. And taking things in context where did Christ come from. As far as the torture of Christ I can tell you there are many men who have been tortured to a much greater degree. I am looking for a deeper answer to this question. I have what I think is the answer but I am trying to get a conformation. |

Christ Death was only physical and only lasted three days. I hear people from all corners state that the Death of Jesus was a great sacrafice. Jesus knew that his death was only temporal. 1.Why is this death considered such a sacrafice. 2. What was the true sacrafice of Jesus. |
