2 | Why do christians kill their wounded? | Not Specified | INCHRIST | 84933
Why do we as christians kill our wounded? This question was posed in a church service I attended and has weighed heavy on my heart. Since then I've asked myself if I am quilty of such an agreivous act, and in searching my heart I'd have to say yes. Also in the short time I've been involved in the forum I've read posts of others who consistantly mock, ridicule, and torment those who ask questions or offer opinions that are not up to the standard they feel obligated to impose on the forum. And in turn mock christian values and the standard Jesus set for our lives. Jesus said to Saul "Why do you persecute me?" In that question we see that Jesus took abuse of His children very seriously. So I say to all of the forum users to guard yourselves from becoming abusers of the children and to those who will find themselves in the class of abusers there is repentence and forgiveness in Christ Jesus.

5 | Studying O.T. is creating problems. | John 3:16 | INCHRIST | 84663
You are not doing anything wrong when you seek Jesus as your Savior. Do you realize who you are in Christ Jesus? We are in the New Testament the New Covenant Blood bought by Jesus. The people you're describing were under the first covenant and their sins were forgiven by the blood of animal sacrifices but our lives were redeemed by the blood of Jesus, His sacrifice on the cross. The people of the OT didn't have the advantages of the Blood of Jesus that we have today. There were horrible things that happened then and the daily news headlines speak of horrible things happening now. Also, there are great and miraculous events that took place then and still happen now. You will never have to face the wrath of God the way the OT describes because God has promiced us that what Jesus did on the cross paid for your redemption. John called himself the diciple whom Jesus loved not in an arrogant, haughty ,self exalting way, but so that we could realize that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. Jesus' sacrifice on the cross didn't start the day He was hung but in Gen 4:15. When God said He shall bruise your head and you will bruise His heal. If you had been the only one to receive Jesus as Savior He still would have hung that day. He loves you that much! You say the OT stories scare you may I ask why? Do stories in world history books scare you too? There are some pretty graffic and horrible things in them also. I suggest that you study the NT and find out who you are in the Blood of Jesus. Then you will see that Jesus bought and paid for you and that you are righteous in Him, not because of anything you did, just because He is Love. When I first started studying the bible I felt the same way. I found parts confusing and scary, and some boring. Until one day I got this amazing revelation that I could find myself in the people written about like when Peter walked on the water and within arms reach of Jesus started to sink. Yet this was the man Jesus said would be the foundation of christianity. Then I saw Peter made mistakes but Jesus still loved him, and Jesus still loves me. And that God wasn't trying to send me to Hell but gave up Jesus to save me from Hell because that's where I was headed. I hope that I have opened your eyes to the fact that God doesn't want you in Hell either but in Heaven with Him.
6 | Thank you!! | Eph 1:16 | INCHRIST | 84576
I do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers. That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him: the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of His mighty power, which He wrought in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, and set Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: and hath put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be the head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fulness of Him that filleth all in all. In this day when terrorist alerts are ever in our face that we can pray such a prayer for each other that God's wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him is available to us all of the time and we have His promice of protection in all danger. It is always good to remember to pray!
7 | Thank you!! | Eph 1:16 | INCHRIST | 84503
Also, in PS 22:3 God inhabits the praises of His people. The books of Psalms show us the many ways praising opens up our lives to God bringing us into His will and His way dealing with enemies. Also, as we praise and worship God and put our focus on Jesus as our Savior we open our lives to the plans of our Father for us. There is also a scripture that describes praise as a sacrifice and we can see how there are times when our hearts feel broken, our body are sick and we don't feel like praising God for anything but in our being obediant God comes and brings the peace that we need. You said that recently your brother inlaw passed on that is not the same as being lost. Jesus said He would never abandon or forsake us, so I will pray peace for your family. Also that broken hearts are restored. You did not say your brother inlaw was born again. If not, (that you know) don't sell God short it is His Will for all to be saved and you and I don't know what happens during the seperation of our spirits from our flesh and we believe in the God of the impossible. |
