1 | My people...Our Father...promises of GOD | 2 Chr 7:14 | IDONTSHARE | 17708
In the past hour or so I have posted excerpts from letters and thoughts I have had on 2 Chronicles 7:14 this past month. One statement made was NEW TRUTH IS ROOTED IN BASIC TRUTH. The most influential teacher in my life often used OT scripture to adress present day problems. He has a way of making OT scripture very personal and very relevant. He preached a sermon once...often referred to as the Sermon on the Mount...and in that sermon he made numerous references to a Heavenly Father, our Father, your Heavenly Father. I so appreciate that. And most of what he preached in that sermon was based on OT scriptures. The promises of 2 Chronicles 7:14 are quite personal and relevent to me. If GOD is my Father (Our Father, which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name...) then I am His people (If my people which are called by my name). And what a joy that brings! GOD has made personal promises from scripture. Duet. 4:4 But ye that did cleave (hold on no matter what) unto the Lord your GOD are alive everyone of you this day. GOD's promise to me...dont let go and you will live (anti backsliding scripture). Psalm 131 Lord, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty, neither do I exercise myself in great matters or in things too high for me. Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother, my soul is even as a weaned child. Let Israel hope in the Lord, from henceforth and forever...many years ago this scripture was given to me by GOD as a prayer. It is the desire of my heart to live those words. The promises of GOD are not for everyone and the promises of GOD are for everyone. We make the choice......peace.....
2 | Still true today... | 2 Chr 7:14 | IDONTSHARE | 17707
Some thoughts... What if the Holy Spirit actually showed up? Doesn't work that way...this is not a "show"...He doesn't make "appearances". As someone mentioned earlier He is present at every service. Isaiah 57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. We come together for prayer and worship (church). Seeds are planted. Then we are scattered. Isaiah 61:9b (KJV) ...all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed that the Lord hath blessed. Matthew 5 3 Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. Most of us spend 6 hours or less inside the doors of a church each week. The measure of the working of the Holy Spirit in our lives should not be based on that but rather on the lives we live during the week. The Holy Spirit does not come to make us more spiritual...He comes to make us holy. Holy equals wholly, complete....holiness is kinda like a jigsaw puzzle...when every piece is where it is supposed to be then we are able to see what the Creator intended us to be...WARNING: Each puzzle is unique...pieces that fit one life may not fit another. John 14:26 (KJV) But the Comforter (Counselor...NIV), which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Without exception new truth is rooted in basic truths...prayer, obedience, love, faith, etc. New truth is seeds grown to maturity and now bearing fruit. (John 14:26...kinda of) Prayer is a relationship. Prayer is intimacy. Prayer is interactive. Prayer is our greatest privilege. Prayer is our greatest need. Prayer is the key to revival. 2 Chronicles 7:14 and Matthew 7:7 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves...Ask, and ye shall receive (men often hate to admit they are lost or do not know the way, hate to ask for direction)... and pray... and seek my face...seek and ye shall find and turn from their wicked ways (omit wicked...His way not my way...get back on the High Way..Isaiah 35:8) knock, and it shall be opened unto you...then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. The evidence of the Holy Spirit? Everywhere!!! Among the hurt...the forgotten...the sick...the wounded...the humble...the poor...wherever there is a need He is there...and those who listen are there (Isaiah 50:4)
3 | God's people's land? | 2 Chr 7:14 | IDONTSHARE | 17706
Revival.....all the "new" insights, knowledge are rooted in the classic revival scripture.....2 Chronicles 7:14 If......that is a BIG if..... my people.......GOD is claiming ownership. Not the denomination's, not the evangelist's, not even the pastor's..... which are called by my name.......we have the name, enjoy the benefits...but with benefits come responsibility shall humble themselves......admit we are wrong, have cheated (received benefits without responsibility)....admit we have placed ourselves too high (me first) Just the thought about being relevant to the world around us. We can either be lights in the darkness or we can be relevantly dim and therefore more appealing? It is the difference that draws....actually it is Jesus that draws. 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people which are called by my name shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Recently my pastor received a call from the D.S. (his pastor). He said he was coming thru the area in about an hour and would like to meet him and another pastor in about an hour. Would it be too much trouble to contact the other pastor and meet him at a restaurant. My pastor stopped what he was doing to spend some time with the D.S. When we really admire or really love someone...we go out of our way, joyfully, to spend time with that person. It is not a matter of trying to fit that person into our schedule. The blessing outweighs the "inconvience". Why is pray nestled in between humble themselves and seek my face? Humbling ourselves is admitting (realizing) the need. Prayer is confessing the need. It is like holding hands or saying the words, "I love you" or "I need you" to our spouse. We NEED intimacy with GOD. We NEED time with GOD. Revival is renewing the intimacy. Prayer is communication...it is not talking to GOD but with GOD. If we open up to Him....He opens His arms and His heart to us (Matthew 11:28-30). Seek my face....we generally find what we look for. This is not a game of cosmic hide and seek. GOD is never hidden or wanders off. Neither does He put obstacles or hindrances between Himself and us. On the children's show, Blue's Clue's, recently there was a part where Steve was helping a cartoon boy find stuff he had lost. The key to finding things lost...Go back, go back, go back to where you were. Turn from their (wicked) ways...so what makes something wicked? Would it be something satanic....or inspired or infuenced by satan? We are so busy...ever wonder why? "But GOD understands...He knows my situation." Sound familar? Read Genesis 3:1-5 (NIV). Genesis 3 (NIV) 1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, You must not eat from any tree in the garden?" .....deliberate misquote, starts dialogue 2 The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, ......so far so good 3 but God did say, "You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die." .......knows GOD's words and obeying them.....knows consequences ofdisobeyng 4 "You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman. ........lie, completely false....now for the sugar coating..... 5 "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." .......FOR GOD KNOWS (understands) many are cheated from the life GOD intends by the deceivers words.....wealready have the fullness of GOD (John 1) Anything that seperates us from GOD is evil. Even good things. Even harmless things. After all, how much harm could there be in a piece of fruit?

Many versions...one truth. Different versions of the bible are a positive thing. In the denomination I belong to twenty years ago the KJV was dominant. Today the NIV is dominant. My personal preference is KJV. However this year I have been reading thru the bible using NIV. And I have been blessed. Job 6:10 (NIV) Then I would still have this consolation-- MY JOY IN UNRELENTING PAIN-- that I had not denied the words of the Holy One. Psalm 94:19 (NIV) When anxiety was great...within me...your consolation brought joy...to my soul. Jeremiah 5:22 (NIV) Should you not fear me?" declares the LORD. "Should you not tremble in my presence? I made the sand a boundary for the sea, an everlasting barrier it cannot cross. The waves may roll, but they cannot prevail; they may roar, but they cannot cross it. (There is a limit to what satan can do) Different versions...different perspectives...one truth. Think of the gospels. Four versions of the life of Jesus written from different perspectives. Same life just different perspectives. Over the years the most popular versions may/will change. The Truth will not. With the ease of an online concordance I often look at different versions of a scripture/section of scriptures to get an idea of what is being presented. An example of that is a study I did on Colossians 2...focusing on verses 8 and 18. For this particular study I used the NKJV. The key word in these verses was CHEAT. Other words used in different versions were captive, lead astray, spoil, disqualify, defraud, condemn, and beguile. I think it is great that we have the ability to view scripture from different versions (perspectives). The Cheat Test Colossians 2:8 (NKJV) Beware lest anyone CHEAT you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. Colossians 2:18 (NKJV) Let no one CHEAT you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind. A cheater does not play by the rules... A cheater misrepresents truth... A cheater promises much, gives little... A cheater wants what you have... A cheater will ''become'' whatever is necessary to accomplish his goal... Last year someone gave you a brand new car. You loved the gift and the giver. A stranger asks about your car. You tell how wonderful the car is and about the one who gave it to you. The stranger begins to tell you about all the things wrong with you car. Bad gas mileage...expensive upkeep...insurance premiums... He offers a solution to your being stuck with your car...he will take it off your hands. You refuse the offer. The stranger then offers to trade. He shows you a picture of a brand new car. It is better than the one you have. The stranger even offers to pay all expenses for the car you get. You consider the offer. In Christ we have all the treasures, all the fullness, and are complete in Him (Colossians 2:4, 9-10 NKJV). We should be living rich, full, complete lives as christians. Satan comes along and starts pointing out the "flaws". Amazingly so many listen. Instead of rejoicing thru the difficulties and problems of life they focus on what is wrong. If we cannot be cheated out of our joy by this method then satan offers something better. We see the picture....the "perfect christian life"....and then we look at what we have. Instead of enjoying who we are in Christ we are constantly focusing on our imperfections. Either way we are being cheated out of the life GOD intends. Satan knows the truth and works to keep us away from it. A simple test....what do you see clearly? Where is your focus? Are you being cheated? FOCUS...For Our Clear Understanding...Scripture ...peace...
