The truth of those words, uttered in present tense, by Jesus can be comprehended only when we realize that our sin debt was paid through the spiritial death of Jesus, "Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?", before He died physically. Jesus did not say "It is nearly finished." or "... almost finished." He, Jesus Christ said "It is finished!" Jesus'physical death resurrection are the fulfillment of old testiment and point to things to come. 1 Thessaloians 5:14-17 |
