no pursuit, just releasing thoughts of freedom to those who may have that concern. ( : I see the heart is always what God is after, not the outward appearance. I appreciate your feedback. Thanks.
2 | Do you believe Sarah wore make-up? | Not Specified | HMM | 176590
Food for thought... Keep in mind Prov 16:18 regarding pride and a haughty spirit. Here is my question: Have you ever wondered how Sara, Abraham's wife, at 90 yrs old was so beautiful that Abimelech king of Gerar took her for his wife? Do you think she used the plants of her day for makeup or hair color? The NT tells us of the spirit inside of Sarah, how she called Abraham Lord / mater and obeyed him, 1 peter 3:6. I know that men like their women to look good so don't you think Sarah may have been wanting to please her husband in this area also? Thoughts?

Bereaniam, I am with you. I believe you have a cause to worry. Pride is the enemy in all of us and we all need to beware and always check our motives and attitudes. We can not or do not want to be the blind leading the blind. I also do not believe we are under a curse. The Bible teaches us that we are free from the curse. (Read Gal). I also believe in Spirit lead giving not legalistic giving that most churches today label the tithe. So sad, the bondages and burdens people carry. The fear and the worry the pastors that operate under such thinking and the fear and the worry they spread to God's people. You may not be able to find a church that has experienced the freedom from the law of the tithe (although I have actually heard of a few) but you should be able to find one that doesn't teach that we are under a curse and operates under pride. Even Jesus wept over Jerusalem and I am sure, as is indicated in Revelations, He is weeping over many churches today. I agree with Carol that we need to be peace makers but I don't believe the Bible teaches us to be passive. If a brother sins, the Bible says GO. I believe that is why we have to intercede. You are probably an intercessor and God has placed burdens on your heart to pray for these situations that arise. If God wants you to confront then do so as the Lord leads, in His Spirit. If He wants to move you out, then you will have peace about it and God will direct your steps. Pray and get others to pray with you. Maybe God will do mighty things just where you are! YES JESUS! Be aware that the scripture 1 Peter 2:13 is not referring to the church but read the context, it is about our examples we leave for Christ. We are to obey the laws of the government or the workplace or school, whatever is applicable. All scripture must be read in context of what it is applying to. Be careful not to judge the motive though, even though we may think we see pride operating, there may be blind spots in the person or the person may be in denial, which God needs to work and reveal this to them. Addressing what something looks like to you or how things make you feel will keep things in the right perspective. Be at peace and yet morn and weep for the people, for there are many under delusion and as we know the enemy goes about as a roaring lion seeking all he can devour! |

5 | Is it scripture to leave church without | 1 Pet 2:13 | HMM | 176553
I would say no to your question. The Bible does teach us not to neglect the gathering of ourselves together and even more when the day is drawing close, Heb 10:25. We need the support of others. We need accountability. We need to stay involved in the lives of others, ministering to them. We need the body of believers as much as they need us. However, it is difficult to find a well balanced church. I have been to many. None has arrived to perfection. Too many are out to please the crowds. I know of only a couple in my area that actually allows the service to be lead by the Holy Spirit. Man's agendas usually get in the way of what God wants to do. But God is God. Gracious and patient. So patient! You won't find everything you want in a church but try to find one that knows and teaches the freedom we have in Christ. One that allows the people to experience it away from the "letter of the Law". Most of all free yourself. Read the scriptures and know in your spirit what the truth is. Moving in guilt is not moving in freedom. If our conscience condemns us then it is not of faith and what is not of faith is sin. I think you are moving in the right direction in listening to the promptings of the Spirit. During these uncertain times is when we grow spiritually. Stretching and growing is never easy or painless. It sounds like you need some prayer and encouragement from others that have gone through what you are going through. My husband can relate to your questions. He was part of a large church for many years that taught the similar things you have been. I will see if he can write you more in this area. Praying God will stretch his hand of mercy and healing over you. I pray you will experience new levels of joy and freedom. I pray the release of God's anointing power will come in new heights as you yearn and search for answers to your questions. Take time to be with your Heavenly Father, He will give you the peace and direction you are looking for. "If anyone lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him." James 1:5 |

6 | what to do? | 1 Pet 2:13 | HMM | 176552
It is a sad thing the way churches use scripture to their advantage. The verse you show, 1 Peter 2:13, I do not believe is intended to apply to the church. How can you be submissive to EVERY human institution? I believe what this verse is saying is not to break laws. We are to be good examples for the Lord's sake. I would like to make mention of other ways the church has mislead many of the Lord's flock. One thing to beware of is that many churches use Old Testement verses to validate things in the New Testement but unfortunately the scriptures are then taken out of context. One popular verse used is Mal. 3:9. In Gal. 3:13 it tells us that Jesus took our curse, we are no longer under ANY curse. We are redeemed and set free, as the book of Galatians tells us. Jesus took the curse for us. Anyone who tries guilt manipulation for ANY reason, this would also include tithing, does not know all of what Christ did on the cross. I would suggest reading Galations and Hebrews. Two books very clear on our freedom. We are servants to the gospel. Servants to God who redeemed us from death. We are obligated to no one except our Master, to hear where HE wants us to go, WHAT HE wants us to say, and how much HE wants us to give, to WHO and to WHAT. If I was you, I would pray and listen. Read the word. Interpret the old testement by the new. Be careful not to try to fit the "new" (NT) in the "old wineskin" (OT). I don't think anyone can tell you to leave your church, maybe God has you there so your eyes will open and you will be the messenger needed or for another purpose. But maybe you are there only to have your eyes open. Be strong and of good courage, put on the WHOLE armour. Be angry but do not sin. If you see a brother sin, go to him. There are many answers to our crazy everyday life. I do want to say that my husband and I have a burden for the people of God who have been taught the curses are still for God's children. Our hearts yearn to help free them. My husband is very wise in scripture and is presently writing a book on Spirit Free gifing - NOT OT Tithing. We are not 1/10th God's, we are 100 percent His and we are NOT the Church's property, we are GOD's, so if God tells you to give to a poor family, GIVE! You are blessed. You are guided by His Spirit. Jesus wants us to care for the poor around us and yes, also support those who labor among us, but why are there so many in need in the church when the leaders are making 3 times as the common folk? Yes, the church needs to have open books to their spending. God give wisdom, mercy, understanding, love, compassion, and forgiveness to all your children sitting under the teaching of bondage. Free more Lord, free more!
