Why not simply ask in a reply what a word means? That way you can learn. I am sure we have lots of patience here. I did not learn those words until after entering Bible College. Normally, you would not learn them in church. Grace and peace, GeneZ |

2 | Zech. 5:9 refers to an angel as femine | 1 Cor 11:10 | GeneZ | 129694
Just because Zechariah was shown two women in a vision (which represented something) and was shown this by angels, themselves... It does not speak of female angels. Women have appeared in visions as representing something in other passages. Why would angels showing him something symbolic concerning women have to be angels? Is the Great Whore of Babylon and angel, too? She was shown in a vision, also! "The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and was glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls. She held a golden cup in her hand, filled with abominable things and the filth of her adulteries. This title was written on her forehead: MYSTERY BABYLON THE GREAT THE MOTHER OF PROSTITUTES AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. I saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of those who bore testimony to Jesus." Revelation 17:4-6 niv Again, the word for angels always appears in the masuline gender. If the passage you quoted from showed the word for angel appearing in the feminine gender, then I would see your point. Grace and peace, GeneZ |

Hank... Some simply live to debate. They do not seek after gaining truth, but in only in gaining in better ways to win their point of view. I came here with a hope that it was a place to exchange ideas, not debate. But, I am not surprised. I just needed to find out first. I had been debating for almost 8 years in Forums. I have grown through it, yet I have now outgrown the need to debate. What I was offering to share is not something I wish to debate. If others wanted to, it could be debated afterwards by others amongst themselves. For I have no desire to be debating others while presenting this particular teaching. It would be like someone debating with others if he truly loves his wife when he knows he is deeply in love with her. Yet, if others were driven to do so through disbelief, they would be free to debate it amongst themselves afterwards if that's what rings their bell. But he would have no desire for such debate. For he deeply loves his wife. That is how I feel about what I have been shown. Certain teachings are not to be debated (as they are being presented) but can be debated afterwards by those with a need to do so. I wanted to give something freely. Not to have a sword fight to make them stop fighting it. It is not that type of teaching. It is a teaching that only those fully controlled by grace would receive and in the right setting. I now see what this forum is for. Fine. Let the debates continue on. It can be healthy for those wanting to learn more about what they have come to believe. The others, they only want to argue and will never learn anything truthful. I repeat, some teachings should not be debated. They need to be presented. Then, let those who don't get it (and those who do) debate it amongst themselves. The one presenting it in this case only wants to open a door and explain what's on the other side... not try to force others through. " If any man have ears to hear, let him hear." Those who don't? What good would debating do? Grace and peace, Gene |

4 | Who determines our destiny? | NT general Archive 1 | GeneZ | 98675
Hank... I have not been promising anything. I have been first trying to lay a groundwork to see if I can present here. What has me musing is the way some here are afraid to even hear what I have to say BEFORE I have said anything to indicate the details. Why is that? Some keep wanting me to privately Email what I know to them or to someone else. As if they do not want what ever I have to say to be seen by all. AND, they have no idea what it is! Strange thing. I have given no details yet, and they are wanting me not to post for all to see. " For our struggle is not against flesh and blood...." (Eph 6:12a) I am not sure this is a right place for me. With the type of attitude being shown here, it looks like they do not have the courage to face truth other than what they deem safe and feel comfortable with already. I am not yet sure this is a fertile place for offering what I have been given. I am having second thoughts... Besides, I have been showing my own disdain for what I have been show here. Walls are being erected before I begin. I think I walked through a wrong door... Might be moving on... Gene And, don't think I am surprised. A bit disapointed maybe. But, not surprised. |

Email suppresses truth which is to be made known to all... on public display. There seems to be a strong desire to hide what I might have to say from certain folks here... Am I quickly picking up on a trend manifested here? I think I do not like this place... That is, unless I am reading things so far, wrongly. When presenting Bible doctrine this sort of thing can be expected at times. I guess my hopes about this forum is quickly diminishing. What I have to say is to be presented OPENLY... before all. All are to be shown and are to decide for themselves... To the body of Christ. If I were looking for private Emailings I would have not come to a Forum. I may be wrong, but I sense a fear in this place. Why is that? Those growing in grace and truth have nothing to fear... But, they do need to be aware of suppression of truth. What I have sustains me. It does not depend on others having to hear what I have to say. In other words... It's not my loss if someone refuses to hear me out. I share it in hopes of furthering the details and insight. But, that can not happen when there is fear of others to hear in an open arena. Might just be moving on... Gene |

EdB... You are not reading me right. You requested: "The argument between Calvinist and Arminianist has been going on for 500 years." Look...I have clearly stated: I am not an Arminianist. I reprove both sides of this "Hatfields and McCoys" war. Sit tight, sir. You may just learn something you did not know. In the mean time I wonder. It appears you wish to censor what I might have to say? For I clearly stated that I take a side that refutes BOTH Arminianism and hyper-Calvinism. And, I also stated that if a Calvinist argument is introduced while I am explaining that I will not respond to it. It will not drag on and on. Matter of fact, what I have to say will put an end to the debate if others here are up in their Biblical knowledge enough to follow what I have been shown. Sounds arrogant? If I am thinking false doctrine? I am. If I have the resolve to this issue? I tell you plainly what it is that I possess to give those willing to hear me out. Otherwise, I will not waste my time with all these panic attacks of the likes you are showing me. Get what I have already said clearly. If not, I will not bother with such a spirit in this forum. Period. Grace and truth, Gene |

John... You said... " At the same time, I am also pig-headed, stubborn and unwilling to embrace new ideas. I see these attitudes as vestiges of my old man." Good. That's a start. Mind you, I have been corrected in essential areas over the years. That being for about 25 years now. I have gotten over the shock of discovering how wrong I was about what I was sure of. I was eventually shown to be aware of it when that type of confidence is made manifest, that I should learn to become wary of it and to recognize it. There is a confidence that comes from the Spirit... and one that comes from one's areas of strength in Adam. We all must learn to give up on their stubborness where we have it. Some will, some refuse. For some they refuse, because its a matter of survival to them. "For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it." (Luke 9:24 niv) Stubborness if trying to be one's own savior. With that said... Please, respond to this in agreement to hear ALL I have to say before questioning (attacking) it, and I will show you what I have been shown in the Scripture. Drop the fear of being tricked by another's logic and maybe you'll find yourself less willing to try stubborness as a defence. If not, it will be like me trying to tell a Mary worshipper that Mary is not the mother of God. As you well know, they can be VERY stubborn about this matter. Reasoning will not reach them when they are stubborn. Grace and peace, Gene |

Hank... I may be new here, but I am not new to the debating of such issues. And. let's be fair. I have yet to see someone show a Calvinist a viable alternative to certain things they accept coldly. Some try to reason the nature of God with them, but fail to show how we can be both totally depraved and able to be given faith by grace. That is why I set the criterion before I say what I have to say. If he refuses to agree, or begins to go back on his word, I will simply cut it short like I said I would. I do know how the mindset that is attracted to TULIP can be. On the other hand, he may be willing to accept my terms. To allow me a complete hearing of what I have to say before he challenges with his accepted dogma. If not, maybe you and I can take this up after he decides not to? I really believe that the Lord has blessed my thinking in this area, in a way that both took me by surprise and gave me deep inner contentment. Some things are so simple after they are revealed to you, but are impossible to see without grace in its power showing the way... to freedom. Nice to have met you, Hank. Grace and peace, Gene |

9 | Who determines our destiny? | NT general Archive 1 | GeneZ | 98482
John... You assumed something wrong about what I believe. You said.... "Where we still may disagree is on whether fallen man is capable (absent the work of the Holy Spirit in regeneration) of having a desire that would be pleasing to God. I say he (fallen man) cannot." There is nothing in our flesh that can please God. Nothing. You said... "I believe them for one reason and one reason only: They agree with Scripture." They do not agree with Scripture. I am neither Arminian, nor TULIP. I do agree with most of the acrostic, but Beza (not Calvin) came up with that notion. The key is one of knowing what grace does. And, that the soul is not part of the flesh. I wish not to argue, but when someone makes a closed statement like you have ( " They agree with Scripture.") Then I see a preconceived wall erected prejudicially against any reasoning that may show the error to your dogma. I will discuss as long as you do not become rigid with me. If not, I will simply drop the subject with you. Are you willing to be shown that you can be wrong? That things are not as simple and black and white as you like them to be? You would be an exception to the rule if you agreed on my terms. It seems that a certain mind set has a natural affinity for Calvinism. I have found it, so far, to be a rigid one. To explain what I have to give, in order to show you how I see grace works in salvation, it will require avoiding being sidetracked by the usual cliches and conditioned responses. You must be willing to first hear me out and let me finish. Ask questions to clarify what I specifically said, if you wish. But, please do not have us wander off and ask me to explain (at that point) what a certain passage that you have come to accept and seems to contradict free will of man in salvation, means to me at that time. Let me first complete my understanding with you. When I finish, then you can give me such questions if you wish. If you can agree to that, then I will explain myself as to why Calvinism and Arminianism are both wrong. Almost everyone knows Calvinism and Arminianism. Both make no sense to the other. Both are attracted to by believers with an natural affinity for such reasoning. I am here to reveal something that neither reveal. Remember, you can question what I am saying and ask for clarification about what I am specifically speaking on. But, I will refuse at that point to get sidetracked into refuting TULIP dogma directly. For, I believe what I have to say will clear it up as I go along. Agree? Or, do we just move on? Grace and peace, Gene |

10 | Who determines our destiny? | NT general Archive 1 | GeneZ | 98396
You said... "The reason I can't accept your interpretation is because it does not address the fact that Acts 4 teaches that God predetermined that certain people would do certain things." God predetermined that Judas would be alive and would betray Jesus. But, God did not make Judas do what he chose to do. God simply made sure, having known what Judas was, that he was to be born when and where he was. It was Jesus who chose Judas out to follow him. Jesus made sure his betrayer was to be alive in his vicinity so that Scripture would be fulfulled. Judas was predestined. Only God has this ability in his omniscience to perform this. What I quoted from, says that God has determined where and when we are to be born. I suggest you keep reading it over until what it tells us makes sense to you. Once it does, you will be able to see how God, knowing our hearts, can predetermine the outcome of situations. Not by making men choose a certain way, but by knowing how a man will choose, having them placed in a situation to reveal what certain attitudes produce in life. Here it is once more. "From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live." (Acts 17:26 niv®) God determined where and when you were to be born. He did not choose for you to be born during the great Exodus of the Jews. He chose you for the Church age... to be in Christ. You asked ... "Question: Can a person choose to act contrary to the strongest desire of his heart? If you say yes, please give an example." A Spirit filled believer can become transformed and no longer desire these strong desires he once had. He can become transformed by grace. " Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires." (Romans 8:5 niv®) "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God–this is your spiritual[Or reasonable] act of worship." (Romans 12:1 niv®) Grace and peace, Gene |

11 | Who determines our destiny? | NT general Archive 1 | GeneZ | 98379
Acts 4:25-28 who by the Holy Spirit, through the mouth of our father David Your servant, said, 'WHY DID THE GENTILES RAGE, AND THE PEOPLES DEVISE FUTILE THINGS? 'THE KINGS OF THE EARTH TOOK THEIR STAND, AND THE RULERS WERE GATHERED TOGETHER AGAINST THE LORD AND AGAINST HIS CHRIST.' "For truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose predestined to occur." We must realize something. God is THE teacher. He has his lessons already planned out in sequence. He is teaching both man and angels. Man is predestined in part because man is a great teaching tool for God's teaching angels. God knows what we will choose, yet he does not make us choose as we do. He knew before we were born how we would choose. Because his omniscience can do this, God can choose and predestine each one of us to exist at a certain time in history so that a lesson (in attitude) can be shown to the angels (and to ourselves). God could have chosen an atheist to be born during a time of great apostasy, or he could choose for an atheist to be born during a time of great spiritual revival. What ever God chooses is the atheist's destiny. Yet, God did not destine for the person be an atheist. God chooses when and where each one of is to be born. That way he can plan his lessons in the classroom for angels and men to be taught about God's ways. That is why the passage you quoted from is worded as it is. We have all been predestined as far as what time in history we will live out our earthly lives. "From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live."(Acts 17:26 niv®) Our lives (time to be born) has been predestined by God to suite his purpose in his plan. But, our choices are not predestined. We must make those. God's omniscience utilizes what he knows we will choose to suite his plan. We often times forget that God is just as concerned with angels as he is with man. " It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. *Even angels long to look into these things.*" (1 Pet 1:12niv®) Grace and peace, Gene |

12 | Who determines our destiny? | NT general Archive 1 | GeneZ | 98328
John... You asked... "Who determines your destiny, God or yourself?" It is not so cut and dry... It is more like a double edged sword. We determine in which direction our destiny will take. God determines the results of our choices.God has destined for us to choose. God determines the consequences for our choices. "Gal 2:20 "I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me." That is only positional truth if the believer is carnal. God did not destine for them to be carnal. He destined for them the opportunity to choose for being spiritual. If you are not walking in the power of the Spirit, the truth read in Galatians 2:20 can not be experiential. Only those walking and being filled by the Spirit can say along with Paul that is their experience. Those living in rebellion against the cross will not be able to say that's their experience. Just the same, God sees the carnal believer from a judicial perspective, and it (Gal 2:20)is a matter of being a legal decree achieved by God's justice on the cross for all believers. "Heb 12:2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith." All believers have been DESTINED to decide to follow what that says. But many reject that call. God did not destine believers to rebel and reject truth. We determine our destinies. On the other side, God destines the testings and choices that come our way which we must decide upon that will determine the consequences that God puts into motion. There is a two fold destiny going on. Part we determine. Part, God determines. Grace and peace, Gene |

13 | Do altars belong in christian churches? | Ex 17:15 | GeneZ | 97916
One can not accomplish ANYTHING beyond what the Lord has already fulfilled on the cross. Bored believers missing the point (or impatient believers not able to wait for the Lord's next move) seem to always come up with these diversionary ideas that distract away from what they should already have known. But, they are God's servants, not mine. He must deal with us all as a Father. We all make mistakes as we go along. They can be a source for our growth, or for going backwards. Our volition is always called upon by God to decide where we want to stand with the Lord. Do we want to start playing games with God? And, make ourselves (with our own private interpretation) lord over our own lives? I believe in many cases impatience with God leads to false concepts. They resent God's requirement for waiting upon him and create something out of Scripture that pleases themselves in their natural thinking rather than suffer if need be, being required to wait upon the Lord for the real answer in His timing. Grace and peace, Gene |

14 | Do altars belong in christian churches? | Ex 17:15 | GeneZ | 97879
On what basis should an altar be built? The altar was for OT sacrifices, not the church age. Today, if anything, our sacrifice should be to willingly take up our cross and deny self as the Word of God accurately taught transforms us into new thinking in Christ. I suppose our altar could be symbolized by our accepting truth and laying down our old way of thinking, accepting objectively sound doctrine when it comes our way. When its pertaining to the Church age, the word "altar" is never taken in a literal sense. It is always used figuratively like I just used it. Grace and peace, Gene
15 | Jesus Created or Creator??? | Rev 3:14 | GeneZ | 97652
He only asks of us what he (the humanity of Christ) had already overcome. Jesus was the pioneer of our faith. He forged and proved the way for us by faith, the means to over come the world. That is, our faith (the Word of God made alive in our thinking), we have been given the mind of Christ(1 Corinthians 2:16)! In the Greek the word commonly translated "mind" can also mean "thinking." We have been given his faith. He is the Word (John 1:1). The Word became flesh (John 1:14)... We now have been assigned to learn the Word in an accurate sound way. We will be tested by God's plan to see if what we have learned from the Word (faith) is sound and genuine. "In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith--of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire--may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. "(1 Peter 1:6-7niv®) If we steadily receive truth and are walking in the Spirit we will become overcomers like Christ was an overcomer (of evils in the world). But, if we choose rather to follow after the commonly accepted mainstream popular false teachings that abound today (2 Timothy 4:3) we will not overcome evil, but will be overcome by evil as we conform and are warmly accepted into a system disguised itself in sheep's clothing. Many today have a distaste for sound doctrine. Many want to be told that they are OK in their natural thinking towards who and what Christ is. Many do not want the real Christ. For the Truth requires we deny self and take up our cross in order to follow Him. He is the Word (John 1:1). " For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear." (2 Tim 4:3 niv®) Wide and broad is the way that leads to destruction of the believer's spiritual life. There is provided a broad and wide spectrum of ways to please the many various natural inclinations of believers. Jesus said that only a few will find it. Find the way that leads to his promised "life abundantly." This is to be the maturity in Christ that imparts the capacity to enjoy and experience life to its fullest. So, if we refuse to deny self now we will be refused his life in our experience later on. We must lose our natural way of thinking so that we may gain Christ by sound doctrine (faith teachings). " For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD . " (Isaiah 55:8) Many form denominations and cults because they think God must think like they do. That he must love what they love. The Word is full of shocks and surprised to those who accurately follow after Christ in his Word. Unfortunately, there are those who already know it all (" God must think like we do"). Many have self satisfaction and a pseudo sense of security in numbers. Yet, those who overcome have overcome them as well. Grace and truth, GeneZ |

16 | the angels that sinned | 2 Pet 2:4 | GeneZ | 96951
He had to become as a man through obedience. "who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. " (Philippians 2:6-8) He put his Deity's power aside and only functioned as a man. A man who was to be led of the Spirit just as we are now to be. He pioneered the way for us. He tested all the faith we are to live by. He proved it. He proved it by overcoming all evil we could ever face. He then gave us this faith (the mind of Christ) which is the Word of God being applied to our lives. We are to know the Word... understand the Word... and learn to apply its thinking to our situations which our Father has set before us. Angels watch us and cheer us on. Fallen angels watch us and jeer. Those who properly learn sound doctrine and apply it to their lives will overcome the evils of their day. Those who do not, fail to glorify Christ. They only glorify self. " For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear." (2Tim 4:3niv®) Grace and peace, Gene |

17 | the angels that sinned | 2 Pet 2:4 | GeneZ | 96915
Thanks, Colin. Yes, I do. Yet, in the spiritual warfare we are required to walk in there are to be expected certain ones who turn out to be antagonists. I have learned to accept this and do not expect respect from certain mind sets when they pop up on the field. Other than that from what I have seen here the majority appear to be genuine seekers, not seeking simply ways to oppose. Respect is a willingness to hear one out. So far, it seems fine and what's to be expected even when things are good. Grace and peace, Gene |

20 | Easy way to learn NT Greek? | 2 Tim 2:15 | GeneZ | 96831
How would you answer a French man who wanted to learn an easy way to learn English? Greek is even more complex than English. One word can be modified in many ways to change meaning and intent. Without taking class? Move to Greece. Yet, the Greek spoken today is not the same Greek spoken at the time of the writing of the NT. The Greek of the NT is primarily Koine, but other dialects do appear in the Scripture at times. From those who I learn the Bible translated from the original languages I have been told it takes years of serious study. Otherwise, a little self taught knowledge can be very dangerous. My pastor teaches Scripture from the Greek and Hebrew texts. Once you see how it is to be done the idea of being self taught quickly fades. Those who quote from concordances and word studies have a very limited scope of the nature of what the Greek and Hebrew texts can contain and convey. Grace and peace, Gene |
