1 | Answer or not? Proverbs 26:4,5 | Prov 26:4 | Eaglewings 40:31 | 68031
Does anyone have any insight that they could share with me regarding verses 4 and 5 of Proverbs 26? This has really thrown me for a loop.
2 | Freewill offerings of the mouth? | Eph 5:8 | Eaglewings 40:31 | 66725
Thanks for all of those great scripture references, Ray. Isaiah 40:31 is my life verse, sometime I'll have to post a sermonette I wrote about it. In the meantime, I found a wealth of teaching on verbal freewill offerings in Proverbs 12. Talk to you later, God bless. |

3 | Freewill offerings of the mouth? | Eph 5:8 | Eaglewings 40:31 | 66491
Your right, especially if you single out Ephesians 5:19,20. 'Freewill offerings' would, therefore, be words and songs of praise and worship to God. A freewill offering of any kind is given out of thanks and love, generally. Psalm 35 shows exactly this picture. The writer pleads with the Lord to vindicate him and tells of the offering of thanks he will give in the final verse. I believe that guarding one's tongue and speaking to others in a way that is pleasing to the Lord would be part of that as well (Psalm 15:1-3; 34:13). Thanks for making me think. |
