1 | 1 Timothy 1:20 | Not Specified | Dominus Illuminatio Mea | 203261
In 1Timothy 1:20 Paul speaks of "Hymenaeus and Alexander", whom I delivered to Satan that they may learn not to blapheme." The only other reference I have found of these two individuals is in 2 Timothy 2:17-18 and 2 Timothy 4:14. Does anybody know more of the significance of this passage? Also what does Paul mean when he says he delivered them to Satan? The only thing that I might have found is in Acts 13:45 when there was discourse concerning the Gentiles, but I am not sure I am on the right track.

3 | Does Paul contradict Jesus? | Not Specified | Dominus Illuminatio Mea | 203044
I truly believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God, however I find what seems to be contradictions between what Jesus said, (which I believe to be the true authority.) and Paul's teachings. One example would be what seems to be opposition in Matthew 25:35-46 where Jesus' emphasises works not faith and again in Revelations and in James 2:20 James says Faith without works is dead. Paul appears to confirm this in 2 Corinthians 5:10 but then Paul in Ephesians 2:8-9 seems to contradict Jesus, James and even himself. Can anyone help me to better understand this? There are other examples but I'll start here.
