1 | How old is the earth? | Gen 1:1 | DGB454 | 158499
Genesis speaks of a 6 day creation period and a 7th day of rest. This is the time table I was talking about. Maybe I didn't word it correctly. Sorry about that. I also guess I should have said that biological evolution is considered a fact and the mechanism of evolution is still a theory. Again I appologize. Thank you for your reply Hank. |

Should the time table of the creation of the world as written in Genesis be taken literally? Science has proven that evolution is a fact. (This is not to say that science has proven that man evolved from any other animal.) This raises the question of how old the earth is. I'm sure everyone has seen the remains of animals that have been dead for countless years and have seen how they compare to animals now so I won't go into that. Is it possible that the accounts in Genisis are not set on the same time table that we think of? I understand that 1 year to God is not the same as 1 year to man and I understand that God is not regulated by time as we are. With that being the case is it possible that the earth is much older than we believe it is?

5 | Happy in heaven | 1 Thess 4:13 | DGB454 | 158440
Thanks for taking the time to answer. The last question in the related topics is where a lot of my question are derived from. My wife lost a step father a few years ago and was not sure he was saved. She has been depressed about that for some time. I will show her this forum and maybe she will also be able to get some questions answered. Thanks again. DGB454 |

7 | Happy in heaven | 1 Thess 4:13 | DGB454 | 158430
THanks Makarios for your answer. This leads me to another question. If we know that loved ones are absent from heaven then how can we be happy in heaven? We will all undoubtably know someone we care about that won't make it. How then can we rejoice in heaven knowing a loved one is suffering in hell? Thanks DGB454 |

Will we recoginize loved ones in heaven? Will we be aware of loved ones that are not in heaven but are in hell? |
