1 | Taking ones own life | 1 Cor 3:17 | Cyclist | 140524
T, We are doing fine. Thank you for asking. Is all well with you? After reading your post, which was very good, these scriptures came to mind. I was quilty of the same thing you speak of in time past, holding those less informed to a standard that I, not the Lord, set. I was corrected by these scriptures, especially Gal 6:3; that one HURT! Rom 14:1 Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not for the purpose of passing judgment on his opinions Rom 15:1 Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength and not just please ourselves. Gal 6:1 Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted. Gal 6:2 Bear one another's burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ. Gal 6:3 For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. Gal 6:4 But each one must examine his own work, and then he will have reason for boasting in regard to himself alone, and not in regard to another. Always your brother in Chist our Lord, David I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

Mommapbs, I will sing praise to the Lord my God in my heart the day long! I will sing of his mercy his and love and his grace! I will sing to him with a joyful heart! I will sing praises to the Lord! Yes, I want to chime in. In Radioman's post he reffers to 1 Cor 6:19. In my way of thinking (That's scary, isn't it?), that scripture answers the question on suisude. It tells me that I am not my own, so, God is the one who appoints the time that I should leave this body and be clothed with the other one that he has prepared for me. This verse from Hebrews came to mind also: Heb 9:27 And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, As far as destroying the temple of the Holy Spirit is concerned, I would agree with you. Here are a few verses from 1 Cor 12. In this chapter Paul is speaking of spiritual gifts. 1 Cor 12:11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills. 1 Cor 12:12 For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ. 1 Cor 12:13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. 1 Cor 12:14 For the body is not one member, but many. 1 Cor 12:15 If the foot says, "Because I am not a hand, I am not a part of the body," it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body. Blessing to you T! Always your brother in prayer and praise, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

3 | God's Law vs. Man's Law | 2 John 1:6 | Cyclist | 140509
octoplus, Praise be to the Lord our God, His love and mercy endureth forever! Liked your post! I would like to add this scripture. Rom 13:8 Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. Rom 13:9 For this, "YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, YOU SHALL NOT MURDER, YOU SHALL NOT STEAL, YOU SHALL NOT COVET," and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." Rom 13:10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

Dear Brother Tim, The blessings of the creator of heaven and earth and the seas and all that there is therein sustain and keep me at all times! Praise be to the Lord our God for his mercy and loving kindness! Praise be to God who offered his only begotten son as a sacrifice for our sins! Thank you for the welcome back! Made a career change about a year and a half ago and have been hard at it. I am working in a place where spiritual harvesting is plentiful. I enjoy the opportunity to whitness for Jesus! One young man accepted Christ into his life not long ago. It is so great to see a new babe in Christ! They are full of so much zeal! He's reading the WORD every day and we discuss his readings. Didn't mean to drag on brother. I am going to try to be more involved in the forum again if time permits, but, there's nothing like sharing God's gift face to face and I've been able to do a lot of it lately. Always your brother and a full supporter of this forum in prayer, David I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

Greetings MJH! All praise and glory and honor be to God our father who created all things and to his only begotten son Jesus Christ our Lord! I haven't participated in the forum for almost a year but have checked in from time to time. I don't think that I am really answering your question but these scriptures came to mind. I'm going to track this question to see what type of answers you get. I am interested myself because this question has come to my mind too. John 15:12 "This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. John 15:13 "Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. John 15:14 "You are My friends if you do what I command you. Gal 3:23 But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the law, being shut up to the faith which was later to be revealed. Gal 3:24 Therefore the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith. Gal 3:25 But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. Gal 3:26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. Gal 3:27 For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. Gal 5:14 For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." Many blessings to you in Christ Jesus, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

Rowdy, Blessed be the Lord Jesus Christ who thought not of himself but gave His own life for us! Sorry for the delay in responding to you. Thank you for your post to my question. What you have written is interesting. I still do wonder why the Lord our God said ....."keeping My statutes and commandments, as your father David walked, ...... If I understand your response correctly, our hearts and minds need to be focused on the Lord and His will. Do you suppose that David knew that he was committing sin(s) while he was doing these things? or, Do you think that he was just so caught up in fleshly lust that he lost sight of the Lord? Obviuosly he tried to "fix it" himself by having Uriah killed. Alweays your brother in prayer and praise to the Lord our God, Cyclist PS - I need to update my prfile a little. Thanks for reading it! I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

10 | Memories? | Luke 9:62 | Cyclist | 110257
Hi Forum Family! Blessed be the Lord our God! He is worhthy of all praise and glory and honor! Blessed be the one who created all things in heaven and on earth and in the seas and all that there is therein, things not made by men's hands, but by the Lord! Praise be to the Lord! Wanted to post a question about Luke 9:62 But Jesus said to him, "No one, after putting his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God." I conducted a search on the forum and found that there was a little discussion on this verse but I had a few more questions about it. So, please bear with me. Question 1) How does this particular verse relate to memories, both bad (those in which we learned from) and good (those which bring joy to our hearts)? Question 2) Paul writes: Phil 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. There are many memories that I have which include all of the above, so, Isn't it good to dwell on such things? Here is the passage in context: Luke 9:59 And He said to another, "Follow Me." But he said, "Lord, permit me first to go and bury my father." Luke 9:60 But He said to him, "Allow the dead to bury their own dead; but as for you, go and proclaim everywhere the kingdom of God." Luke 9:61 Another also said, "I will follow You, Lord; but first permit me to say good-bye to those at home." Luke 9:62 But Jesus said to him, "No one, after putting his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God." Always your brother in prayer and in praise, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at al times! His prasie shall continually be in my mouth! |

13 | Did David disobey? | 1 Kin 3:14 | Cyclist | 109215
Good day Forum Members! I will praise the name of the Lord with my whole heart! I will sing praises to the Lord in my heart and with my mouth the day long! I will praise the Lord for he is worthy of all praise! I will praise the Lord with joy and thanksgiving because His joy is my strength! Praise the name of the Lord forever! It's been quite some time since I've been able to share with you all. I must say that I have MISSED you! I have continued to pray, and will continue to pray for this forum. I've been spending time reading the Old Testament. I wanted to post a question so that I could get some input on this. In 1 Kings 3 the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream. In 1 Kings 3:14 the Lord says to Solomon "If you walk in My ways, keeping My statutes and commandments, as your father David walked, then I will prolong your days." In 2 Sam 11 we read the story of David's adultry with Bathsheba and his murdering of Uriah the Hitite. Ex 20:13 "You shall not murder. Ex 20:14 "You shall not commit adultery. David disobeyed two commandments here, yet, the Lord said to Solomon "If you walk in My ways, keeping My statutes and commandments, as your father David walked,......" Is it because David repented that he obeyed the commandments? or, Is it because David did not ever worship any other gods like the other kings of Israel, including Solomon, did? I look forward to reading your comments. Always your brother in Christ Jesus our Lord, Cyclist (David) I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

14 | How long did it take them to reached the | Num 32:13 | Cyclist | 87083
Greetings neal! With my hands lifted up, with my mouth filled with praise, and with a heart of thanksgiving I will bless the Lord my God who created the heavens and the earth and the seas and all that there is therein! Praise the name of the Lord! I don't exactly know, and I don't know of anywhere in scripture where there is any indication of how long it would have taken the Isrealites to get to the promised land had they not wondered through the wilderness. Numbers 13 tells of them spying out the promised land for the first time. It took them forty years. Read through Exodus, Leviticus, and Numbers and you will find out why God made them wonder through the wilderness. Num 32:7 "Now why are you discouraging the sons of Israel from crossing over into the land which the LORD has given them? Num 32:8 "This is what your fathers did when I sent them from Kadesh-barnea to see the land. Num 32:9 "For when they went up to the valley of Eshcol and saw the land, they discouraged the sons of Israel so that they did not go into the land which the LORD had given them. Num 32:10 "So the LORD'S anger burned in that day, and He swore, saying, Num 32:11 'None of the men who came up from Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob; for they did not follow Me fully, Num 32:12 except Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite and Joshua the son of Nun, for they have followed the LORD fully.' Num 32:13 "So the LORD'S anger burned against Israel, and He made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until the entire generation of those who had done evil in the sight of the LORD was destroyed. Joshua led them into the promised land. I hope this helps! Blessings to you in Christ Jesus, our Lord and savior, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times!
